LE, Summer 2019 – Heat of the Night Collection
eyeshadow in Rainwater – warm, shimmering beige
eyeshadow in Hibiscus – yellow-bronze pearl
eyeshadow in Papeete – matte terracotta brown
eyeshadow in Hei – deep, gently shimmering brown (looks lighter/midtone in the pan)
highlighter in Paper Flower – warm champagne pearl
bronzer in Destination Unknown – matte, neutral bronze (slightly lighter than Hibiscus)
Product – Overall the pigmentation is quite good in this palette, and the shades show up distinctly different. Lovely, warm set of neutrals. The shimmer and pearl finishes in the palette are not over the top – they are just enough to keep looks from being too flat. On me (AAB/NC25), the bronzer can almost double as a face powder.
Comparisons – similar to the NARS Wild Thing face palette released earlier in the year (Spring 2019 – Fever Dream Collection), but with a bronzer instead of a blush.
Packaging – solid and sturdy, with squared corners and edges, ombre cover art like shades of sand from golden to brown, and the NARS logo in white. I like that the cover art hints at the shades inside.
Overall – a warm neutral face palette that’s not as boring as it looks.
