Sweet gourmond powdery floriental with a short-lived citrus note. Mostly I get rich vanilla, milk, sugar, powder, plasticy dolls head, and almond scented silly putty. There is also a slight medicinal edge to this which reminds me of bandaids. Long lasting, around 6 hours on me. Love the bottle. I like it but go back and forth on buying a bottle as I already have Marc Jacobs Decadence. Decadence is similar but has a lemon sharpness which makes it fresher. It also doesn’t have that plasticy note that I find jarring.
Top Notes: mandarin orange, pear, pistachio

Base Notes: patchouli, cashmeran, tonka bean, almond milk

Mmmm….sweet almond, nutty pistachio, warm tonka, and lots of bright orange blossom. I can see this one working year round and for all ages (it’s been a long time since I was considered a ‘girl’ but the name doesn’t bother me). I am not a huge fan of a pear note, but thankfully I either don’t get it at all, or it’s very brief and passes unnoticed. I also get only a hint of patchouli in the base…the drydown is pure creamy almond milk mixed with cashmeran and that ever present brightness of orange blossom.
The bottle is gorgeous as well, a throwback 60’s look to it that I find very pleasing and fun.

This is my edit for my review for Girl of Now, to which I originally gave 3 because it got too warm on my skin and became too big and cloying. Its biggest positive for me at the time was that its almond was never plasticky. Now, in cooler weather, I’m very happy that Girl of Now truly shines and reveals the beautiful almond note I have been looking for.
Girl of Now is mainly a vanilla almond gourmand on me that opens with luminous orange blossom and a light fruity note – pear- that adds a tad of sweetness and airiness to top notes. The heart is a simple but amazingly pleasant vanilla almond on me. It is a lot like a lotion and powder at different times on my skin. Altogether big, warm, but not sickeningly sweet. It has that cozy gourmand feel with enough interest to differentiate it from just any almond and vanilla scent and although it is fairly linear and direct, it doesn’t smell like you are using a kid’s body mist or something. It makes me think of Teint de Neige without the rose and just a bit more smokiness. The drydown is a comfortable but quality smelling cashmere feel with powder, clean musk and a bit of woods.
I have bought myself a bottle and would rebuy but I don’t think I will run out of this in near future. It projects really well and still has tenacious lasting power on me.
