According to most dermatologists, mine included, tea tree isn’t something you should be putting on your face. I used to use this non stop when trying to kill my pimples, and it worked. But it burned my skin and left dark spots behind. It actually burns the pimple and your skin and casues more damage than good. I’ve stopped using it for that reason alone. The dark spots take forever to heal and fade. If you have acne issues I would try to find something else instead of damaging your skin.

This product is great for preventing pimples from getting worse. When you feel or see a pimple forming, just dab a tiny amount of the oil onto the area affected once a day.
The only downside to this product has been when I’ve used it on a pimple that has already formed or has been there for a while where it has then caused scarring once the pimple has cleared.
Otherwise, great for prevention.

Though the product is pricey and it’s not a miracle product it does help in drying out the pimples faster. It reduces the inflammation and size of pimples and dries out some in just one application however for bigger ones it doesn’t work that way and the fact that this product is natural makes it good.I have been using isotretinoin tubes on recommendation of dermatologist but it damaged the skin so this is a better but lesser effective alternative however if you have cystic acne this product probably won’t work for you.

I bought this as a target product to my blemishes but it wasn’t that helpful and I thought I had waisted a lot of money on a useless product. But then I had the idea to mix a few drops with my moisturizer and it worked incredibly! My blemishes disappear or at least they are very reduced in a few hours! I will totally purchase this product again!

Really helps to get rid of spots (upcoming or already there). I use this daily, putting a drop on a q-tip (the one con is it’s hard to get product out- this is because they come in slow drops but you really don’t need more than a drop) and dabbing it on any spots, bumpy textured skin and/or upcoming spots. Love this stuff, really works effectively. It’s smells fresh and kinda minty + it’s cruelty free

Smells terrible and does nothing for my pimples and it’s not worth the price.

Usually when reviews go “do not buy this!!” I typically overlook them or find their experiences to be too exclusive to the writer’s own skin type/routine. However I 100% recommend avoiding this product. The watering down of tea tree oil, the inclusion of potentially irritating ingredients which may damage your skin in the future (check the ingredients on cosDNA and you’ll see what I mean) and the ridiculous price!! I’ve used this over the course of this year, when first properly getting into skincare to now and in general, most Body Shop skincare products are ridiculously overpriced and mis-sold. My skin is not terribly oily nor do I get too many blemishes but this really did nothing. I thought I got it wrong or maybe it did help the few times spots would go down, but I realize now that’s due to other parts of my routine.
If this were cheap, I wouldn’t be so annoyed but DON’T BUY THIS. Buy neat 100% tea tree oil and use it lightly. You will see results at 1/10th of the price. Such a waste of money and I’m actually so infuriated that Body Shop sells this as tea tree oil, then you check the ingredients and see that most of the other ingredients don’t even serve to stabilise the product or preserve it and the majority of additional ingredients simply damage skin. For example, the inclusion of citral and limonene for perfume and the inclusion of alcohol – I know there is debate about how damaging alcohol can be in skincare, but for a company who care so much about their customers (supposedly), the variety of ingredients simply damage skin in the long run.
To add insult to injury, the packaging is pretty rubbish and makes it hard to control how much of the over-priced and watered-down product you can use. Do not buy this.

Tea Tree oil has many great uses bc it is an anti fungal and can be used as an astringent but I use it mainly for acne on my face. When I started my natural skincare regimen Trader Joes was a great start due to availability and pricing. I have hyper pigmentation in my skin which means when I get pimple they leave deep purple marks even when I used salicylic acid. Benzoyl peroxide would work but it was so drying for my skin and took so long to work. If you have tried everything on the market in terns of chemicals, I would suggest giving this a shot. When I discovered tea tree oil it literally saved my face especially as an adult! When ever I see a pimple starting I simple dab some on w a q tip and it disappears overnight w no color marks!
I have since moved on to other brands of tea tree oil but Trader Joes still does in a pinch!

Tea tree oil is a definite staple for me as I use it in a homemade spritz that I put together as an all-purpose skin funk treatment. I use it to clear up a pesky skin rash that pops up every now and then that is similar to acne but will get infected if I leave it untreated. My husband uses this to prevent athlete’s foot. I mix about 1/2 oz. in a 3 oz. spray bottle and add about a tbsp. of glycerin (so the spritz isn’t so drying), about 1/2 oz. of unscented witch hazel, and fill it the rest of the way with distilled water. I always add other essential oils to help make the “moldy” smell of tea tree smell more pleasant, ylang ylang is my favorite, also others such as patchouli (love this in the summer!) lavendar (smells mediciny but adds a nice touch) geranium (to balance) and if the spritz is strictly for hubbie’s feet, he likes spearmint for the tingle on his feet & helps control foor odor.
I have also used this straight on pimples and cuts, and have mixed it with petrolaeum to use as a poutice on my dog’s boo-boos. I highly recommend you research tea tree on the internet before making the decison to use it because as with it or any essential oil, you can cause more harm than good if you use it improperly.
I also don’t speak specifically for this brand of tea tree oil, other than it is an inexpensive offering of the oil and Trader Joe’s is a stand up grocer.

This is the ONLY product that has 100% cleared my acne with the exception of the 4 months I used Accutane when I was in my early 20s. I can’t believe how effective this is! I use it morning and evening undiluted and over my moisturizer. The smell is strong, but it does fade quickly. I will never be without this.

i must be the only person on the planet that uses tea tree oil and sees 0 benefits. my acne doesn’t change, my scars don’t change, my life doesn’t change. my skin is annoying asf and weird. this just doesn’t work for me.

Use this to treat nail fungus.
Spot treatment for acne.
I put a few drops in some water and use it in a spray bottle and spray on as body odor remover when I am camping and can’t get in a whole shower. It kills the bacteria that makes my underarms stink.
It also seems to keep bugs from biting me. I used to be a mosquito magnet but not anymore.

My MD told me to apply tea trea oil to the toenails on my big toes. The nails were looking sort of “off” like they were growing funny and lifting from the nail bed. Not a full on nail fungus but something bothering them. Long story short… I purchased this tea tree oil from Trader Joe’s and started applying a drop on each toenail and massaging it in, each morning after my shower. My Doctor said to apply it when you get out of the shower, when the body can absorb the moisture from the shower and the tea tree. It worked! A few months later my toenails are normal again. My guy uses the tea tree on his face for fighting zits and oily skin. We are very happy with our tea tree!

Great price! Tea tree oil is a fantastic multi-use oil. Another great treat from TJ’s.

This works miracles on my acne. It helps to dry out the pimples
blissfulSeafowl6
I love this product! I apply it all over my face at night and my skin has improved so much! The texture of my skin has softened and it definitely has helped cure and prevent my mild acne. Will definitely repurchase this product. I have oily skin and this product doesn’t dry my skin out.
blissfulTeal3
HG status!best tea tree oil i’ve ever used.Whenever my itchy fingers decides to pick on any pimples, this oil prevents bacteria from spreading by acting as an antiseptic. It stings a little, but I find diluting it in water reduces its strength and purpose, for me at least.

Now that I’m 15, my acne did worsen again somehow and my forehead acne came back.
Got myself this at $13.90 (10ml) version. First 2 weeks shows not much changes. Then 3rd week arrive and I see much difference in my skin despite that it gets dry when using it. My zits are smaller, there’s less pimples, my acne scars are lighter than ever before. 4th week, my forehead acne worsened again but the rest of the skin shows no improvements. 5th week: pimples on forehead gets smaller yet there are some still lingering on my forehead. BTW, I GAVE IT A 4 STAR BECAUSE MY SKIN FEELS SO CALM AND COOL WHEN APPLIED DIRECTLY. ALSO, LOVE THE SMELL!
I’M NOW USING IT FOR MY BODY ODOUR AND IT’S doing ok for now. I will be using Retin-A from now on since tea tree oil is not doing much on my kind of acne.
mellowSwift1
Love it, I use a generic Australian brand not this one but its the closest. I put it on everything pimples, bumps and scrapes, works most almost everything to elevate them.
One bottle lasts me years, best appliqued using a cotton bud

I bought tea tree oil for two purposes, one for spot treating my random acne spots. Use very very little as the concentration is high. Might end up burning sensitive skin instead. 2nd use is to add it into my shampoo, to kill mites and stuff, and to help with dandruff. Works wonders. My scalp stopped itching after two washes.
Pretty pricey but well worth spending on.

I used this for spot treatment and mix it with ACV toner. It does dry out pimples but it doesn’t really help with deep cystic acne or blind pimples. The packaging sucks. Please make a dropper or something, knowing that you need it in drops.
abjectJaguar8
The package is quite inconvenient to get the product out. I sometimes has to tap really hard for it to come off, too much/ too little. The product feel lightweight on the skin but it is not so effective treating my acnes. OK quality though
wingedCrackers8
AMAZING! I use this on my nose and forehead where my main skin problems are and I started to see the difference it made to my skin. And I use this every other night with my cleanser. I usually just drop 2 drops on a cotton bud and dab it on my nose (whiteheads), forehead (whiteheads), and on my cystic acne (this isn’t very often, just hormonal). The next morning I know my cystic acne is dryer and whiteheads on my nose and forehead are just not as rough as before.

I have been using tea tree oil for quite some time but found this product dried out my acne too much. It was often redder and peeling after, and made the healing time extended. I dissolute it like I had read but believe it’s too strong for my skin at least. I like body shop but this product wasn’t for me.

This is my favorite tea tree oil. Why favorite? It’s the same as any other, but it’s much cheaper. That’s why. I’m on like my 3rd bottle and these last a crazy long time.
Personally, I spot treat with it, but if you wanted to use it all over like an astringent, you have to dilute it heavily with witch hazel or similar. I’d say a good 10/1 ratio at least or even just add a few drops. You don’t need much. But I use it full strength on pimples, popped or not, but only for a few days, as it will dry the skin around it and cause ashiness/flaking, especially around the mouth. I also find with any treatment that if you start to dry it out, and THEN try and pop it, it will be much more disasterous because the skin is tightening around it and also is more dry and sensitive. So be careful. I don’t know how everyone else is doing it, but my pimples do NOT go down overnight with this, it takes me much much longer to have a pimple start to go away. So for those reasons, I do prefer using it after they’ve been extracted. It’s not a miracle for me but I do keep going back to it/always have it on hand.
I also heavily advise against using this or any other active like BP if you are using a glycolic acid, retin A, or stron AHAs or enzymes. Be aware of your skin barrier because this is a strong oil.
And of course, it also has a million other uses but I stuck to the skin care ones.
jealousLard4
Switching from harsh chemical products I’ve used over the years to a more natural routine. I put this in everything that goes on my face! Sometimes it stings and tingles but my face is never red afterward like it is with BP or BHA products – excellent! I’m running out of my first bottle but definitely will continue to use tea tree oil as I feel it livens up my skin while battling acne or inflammation/irritation in an effective yet gentle fashion.
The bottle sucks. I purchased a dropper bottle to store this and add it to my other products as I use them.
Cool, a new HG product that’s cheap, natural, and works!

I like using it for different ways like for my hair and skin. I talk about it more in my video along with other tea tree products you may like!
