Scary looking stuff, but it works really well. I use their shade Caramel in the Bio-Fond, but I’ve also used it with various other foundations, mostly drugstore, when I was between two of their shades and couldn’t justify buying two of theirs to mix.
I think the principle is that it’s sort of a blood color, so applied to any skin tone it would be similar to that skin’s blush.
It takes the tiniest amount, and spreads easily, though I’m not sure what it would do over powder or a super-matte foundation. I cannot imagine using the sponge with it, unless it’s to blend. Putting any amount on the sponge would guarantee it being too much!
It lasts—I have it on frequently for 14 hours. And it lasts—can’t imagine hitting pan for a few years!

Crimson Bio-Blush is considered to be a universal color. It comes in a compact with a sponge, and it has the same marvelous cream-to-powder finish as the amazing Bio-Fond Foundation. This color doesn’t look like “Crimson” to me. It is what I call Brick Red, and it does not move toward purple tones at all (thank goodness). It is a very “warm” shade. The color is somewhere between Carnelian and Terra Cotta in the pan, and on my skin it’s a rusty coral. Maybe that’s just how it appears on my skin because I have warm undertones? Whatever the shade technically is, it’s not pink, so it suits me. Crimson Blush is a fresh, healthy, natural-looking blush that can be layered for a glamorous effect, or applied gently to achieve a truly natural look. Rather than the “nudes” that are used for “no makeup” looks, I achieve my no-makeup look with red tints on my lips and cheeks. Neutral nudes don’t look natural on me at all, and they often make me look tired or ill. Crimson has a vibrancy that works year-round. I don’t know how it’s achieved, but this blush does not feel heavy or oily at all, unlike any other cream blush I’ve used. This reminds me a bit of Three Custom Color Specialists Caramel Rose lip & cheek stain. The Crimson shade works with almost all my lipsticks. I have a hard time seeing this as a “universal” shade, because it is such a warm, nearly orange color. The color is great for me, and I think it’s a color redheads can wear well.
