This wash WAY too harsh on my baby’s skin. I read the ingredients one day, about to toss in trash. I decided to try it in my face. The cerave hydrating cleanser felt like rubbing lotion on my face & felt more clean using plain water, & broke me out. . The foaming version made my skin itchy all day & clogged my pores.
This worked better than either of those, & better than most cleansers I’ve used. I think my skin is just different than everyone else. There is something in liquid cleansers I can’t tolerate. My skin breaks out in either a rash or bumps if I use anything other than my cetaphil bar. This worked great for about 2 weeks & it was the only change in my routine. I used it in the mornings only. I noticed clogged pores. I never get blackheads- ever. My skin is dry so I fig that’s why. But I did with this. I still recommend it, bc it was gentle & cleaned better than their face washes.

I previously purchased the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser but found that it stung around my mouth area. This is known as a ‘Wash & Shampoo’ product but when I used it on my face, it left my skin feeling balanced. I would definitely recommend this product if you enjoy a foaming consistency but find most foaming cleansers too drying. If it’s safe for babies, it’s safe for adults!

I bought this and the matching moisturizing lotion because for my own personal use. I was looking unscented, paraben, and phenoxyethanol free body products and these baby products fit the bill. This baby wash and shampoo is very light and has a low lather. As a shampoo it left my hair feeling like straw. As a body wash, it left my skin feeling dry. I have combination skin on my face and this did not leave my face feeling clean. I also tried the Shea Moisture baby wash and shampoo and did not find it to work any better than the Cerave.

I actually use this on my baby not on myself like most reviews here . She is 2 months old and have been using this for about 1 month. I noticed she started getting a dry patch on her thigh shortly after starting to use this product but didn’t think it was due to the cleanser . I use Cerave products on myself and swear by them as they are so moisturizing. I just lathered her up with more of the cerave baby lotion. Skip ahead to now- both thighs are dry and her arms up near her shoulders are dry. I am now sadly believing this wash or lotion is the cause. I do love the fact it’s in a pump- so much easier for bath time

I got an eye infection the end of last year and had to drastically revise what little “skin care routine” I had. On top of that, my skin decided that, after 50+ oily years, it was gonna get dry.
So I had a coupon and I tried this, both because I figured it would be mild and because I needed to change my game.
My experience is that this baby wash is very mild, very effective, and pleasant to use. If you have combo skin like I do, it will clean your skin and leave it taut for about 2 minutes. Use a moisturizer if you need to; I don’t use one for tautness, because my skin adjusted pretty quickly. (I use moisturizer to combat wrinkles, not to counteract cleanser dryness.) Very gentle in the eye area. No fragrance issues; easy to use.
The first of my only two qualms is that this is a little pricey for someone like me, who has to shop at drug stores rather than drop larger bucks on skin care. If that doesn’t apply to you, then it’s all good. The second qualm concerns whether you care to support Valeant Pharmaceuticals, which has had bad press in the US for exorbitant prescription drug prices. I do not support that, so I am not likely to purchase this again for that reason. Nonetheless, this is a good product and I leave it to individual consumers to determine their outlook on the parent company.
I marked this “yes” as to whether I would buy it again, but that is more a judgment of its efficacy and leaves out my political viewpoint, as a review should do. This is good stuff, but more pricey than I think it should be. If you’ve got a coupon, knock yourself out!

I bought this product a while ago and it wound up beside the kitchen sink as hand soap. It was very drying and counldnt figure out why. Cerave cleansers are generally good for most people and although I don’t enjoy them I found this cleanser by Cerave to be really harsh.
Lookng at it again recently in the store I was shocked to see a warning about women using it and UTI’s. It literally said on the back of the bottle that if one experiences UTI’s, rash etc down there to discontinue use. That really weirded me out. Is it the pH? Considering all other Cerave cleansers have a pH of 5.5 or thereabouts, I cannot imagine this would have sucj an alkaline pH that it would cause female health issues.
In summation I put that bottle of weirdnesss down and thought about the general rating of Cerave on goodguide.com. Even Cetaphil gets a better rating.

I used this last summer as my summer face cleanser, since I get more normal in hot weather. I liked this a lot – it might have been a tetch drying, but not enough that it bothered me, or left me tight or flaky. It has no scent that I can detect, and rinses quickly and cleanly. It takes off makeup well too – at least it did mine. Like all cerave products, it’s overpriced for what it is – dunno why they’re so proud of their things, but they are. Still, there is a $2 coupon you can print from the cerave site any time for any item, and if it’s on sale, it is very reasonably priced. I will use this again once the weather warms up and I’m not as dry as I am now.

This is the only shampoo and wash I’ve ever used on my daughter. It’s very gentle, doesn’t lather much, but cleanses beautifully with no residue or fragrance. She just smells like her sweet little self after bath time.
She did have a bout of cradle cap and baby acne and this did nothing to resolve that, but it also didn’t make anything worse.
$10.49 for an 8-ounce pump bottle at CVS.

I’m not sure what is wrong with my skin at the moment – hormones (menopause) or just bad skin in general, but I had given up. Given up on cleansers, toners, moisturizers, everything. Although I have oily skin and acne, anything for that purpose would kind of burn my face or strip it of any oils. I can’t remember where I saw this, but I though what the heck and bought it. The very first time I used it, my skin was calm. I’ve used it ever since. I then use some serum from Boots No. 7, and then buff a tiny bit of coconut oil in for moisturizer. I think the fewer chemicals, the better for me. Very happy with this cleanser.
