   Packaging is amazing quality. If you’re not a fan of bulky packaging then this isn’t for you. I love it. Feels very luxe. Also, it’s a blue palette for crying out loud. If you don’t like blue eyeshadow, don’t buy it.
   Cons: As for the shadows, the only ones I really dislike are Blue Monday, Cremated, and Undertaker. Blue Monday looks electric blue in the pan but it turns out purple on the eye, with a lot to be desired. Not very vibrant. I’ve tried using it so many ways, sometimes it looks okay. It’s EHH. Cremated and Undertaker, well, I hate them. Patchy and don’t blend very well. Blend away with the tiniest amount of blending. Have trouble with them staying on the eye. I have a Navy Matte from the Suva Beauty Block Party Palette that I always reach for when I need a Navy.
   Pros: The pastel shadows in here are phenomenal. Blue blood is a true sky blue. Thought it would be too similar to I’m Clod but the tines are very different. The teals in here are amazing. Especially Entitled. Stunning. I’m convinced Jeffree formulates shimmer shadows with the skin frost formula now. Excellent choice. Which brings me to Cullinan. Reminds me of Ice Cold skin frost. Not complaining. I’m not a neutral eyeshadow kind of girl but find excuses to wear Clebrity Skin. The warm shades picked contrast really well with the blues. And Ocean Ice was so much better than the pressed Glitters in Thirsty. Very little fallout. Value, well for me, 18 shades, minus the 2 I despise, 16 shadows. $52 divided by 16 shades is $3.25 a pan. Cheaper than any single shadows I buy.

   I LOOOOVE this palette! I am very fond of blue eyeshadows which can be quite demanding to use and thus require a good formula. Jeffree doesn’t disappoint! I own the Blood Sugar palette from before which I found to have one of the best eye shadow formulas on the market and this one is the same (with the exception of one shade, ‘Deceased’ which is too hard and difficult to get product on the brush. Not sure if this is an issue throughout or if I simply got a package where this was the case as I believe the products are handmade so there can be batch issues potentially). In any case I am in love. It is difficult to make blues that look good and these really do. The way greens and neutrals are mixed into the palette makes it extremely useable and versatile and you can get so many looks out of this one without having to reach for other shades. Myfavourites are the ‘Ocean Ice’ and ‘Blue Monday’, beautiful, beautiful blues that mix well with everything in the palette. The ‘Undertaker’ is a great liner shade being kind of slightly blueish matte black and the peachy and neutral shades play well with the rest. Overall I think this is one of the best palette purchases I have made in ages, beating Anastasia who I like for metallics. HUGE thumbs up from me. I am planning on buying the Alien as well even though the shades are more demanding, simply because this formula practically blends itself. Fantastic palette.

   The Blue Blood pigment palette contains 18 powder eye shades: Cullinan [metallic icy white], Mintea [mint matte], Crystal Flesh [metallic champagne], I’m Cold [powder blue matte], Untouchable [peachy pink matte], Priceless [peachy nude matte], Power [slate grey matte with a blue undertone], Blue Blood [baby blue matte], Deceased [metallic azure blue], Icy Tray [metallic pale blue], Blue Monday [cobalt blue matte], Flourishing [neon teal matte], Wealthy [light nude matte], Celebrity Skin [soft brown matte], Entitled [metallic teal with glitter reflects], Ocean Ice [metallic sapphire with glitter reflects], Cremated [cool green matte with grey undertones], and Undertaker [deep blue matte]. The brighter shades are classed as pressed pigments not as eyeshadow, due to the dyes used in the formulas not being approved by the FDA for use on the eyes.

   Ocean Ice was the shade that most appealed to me but stains my skin badly (bright pink & the staining lasts 2 days), which wouldn’t have mattered too much if it also didn’t irritate my eyes; the veins on my lids were slightly raised and my skin itched & felt tender for a few days. The other standout shade in the palette was Entitled, which was looking & wearing great until it flaked in my eye; it burns like heck. I’ve only had minimal staining & have never had any irritation problems with any other pigment before in the 21 years then I’ve been wearing makeup, so I found these issues with Blue Blood very concerning. I’ve since watched four Blood Blood palette reviews on YouTube to see if any other people have had the same issues as me; two out of the four reviewers had indeed had similar reactions, as have a few reviewers on the site where I bought this palette [Beauty Bay – an official JSC supplier], so my problems can’t be some rare one-in-a-million thing.

   Moving on to some not-quite-so-bad problems; I need to layer my third and fourth favourite shades [Blue Monday & Flourishing] as they are patchy alone, which is annoying, but workable – when I use cheaper shadows I don’t mind spending a bit longer on them, but at this price-point I just expect more. Cremated and Undertaker are the deepest shades in the palette, but they both vanish if you try to blend them with any other shade. Now I’m kinda at a place where I look at the palette and try to decide what to do, but no shade combinations appeal to me or seem overly different to ones I’ve already tried when it comes to wearable application styles and looks rather than Instagram ones, since quite a few shades look similar to each other. The packaging looks fantastic and is sturdy & secure, but it is bulkier then I thought it’d be, so I’ve found that it isn’t very practical when it comes to handling and storage – I’d have much preferred a sleeker palette in the style of the brand’s Beauty Killer or Androgyny palettes.

   On the more positive side; Cullinan makes a great cheek highlight, Mintea has the best formula for a pastel green that I’ve tried (it is a stainer, though) and Ice Tray is much prettier on the eyes compared to it’s appearance in the pan. The other shades are nice enough, with decent formulas that apply & wear well, and I do admire that the brand really pushed the creativity factor and went for it with a theme.

   With the four most unique-to-me shades being problematic [two to the point of being unwearable], I’m left wishing that I hadn’t given in to FOMO and bought Blue Blood, as having six duds and several overly-similar shades in an almost-£50 palette is in no way worth the cost – if I lived in a country where you can return makeup, then this is a palette I’d have sent back. As it is, this is an expensive mistake.

   I was underwhelmed with the Blood Sugar palette at first, but now I’m coming to appreciate it a bit more since getting Blue Blood and having that to compare it to. I much more highly recommend the Tarte Icy Betch eye & cheek palette, if you’re looking for bright blue, teal and green colour pops – after removing the problematic shaades here, you get the same number of shadows in Icy Betch for half the price, but with double the quality.
