This is definitively gradual. It is also just as oily as rubbing plain coconut oil onto yourself which some hate and some love. With the lizard skin I am “blessed” with from my neck down, made worse with the dha onslaught of fake tan all summer which leeches moisture out of you, this is a welcome addition to my thrice daily mandatory moisture regime to keep my skin looking less reptilian. With added tan to boot! I could see people hating it that don’t like being covered in oil; I personally hate moisturizers that totally absorb (on the body) because my skin is left looking just as dry as it was prior to application. Plus, there’s something sexy about a glistening tan body. I’d recommend this to prolong an already existing tan created by an ultra dark mousse type product, like I use jergens natural glow (also oddly super hydrating for me), or I will try in winter to see if it gives my dry pale skin some oomph. I hope this helps someone on the fence. Bottom line: do not use if you don’t like being greasy. Do use if your skin can use all the grease it can get, or if you already use coconut oil. And of course if you want some tan. I have a normal leaning oily face and I stick with other tans for the face. Oh and I do not keep this in the fridge, I do stir it up and I DEFINITELY wear rubber gloves!!!
