I purchased the “Original” shade which is a matte peachy beige. Its much darker than my very fair skintone so it makes all my light or bright shadows look dull. They really need to have it come in two shades to cover lighter skintones. Does not intensify shadow or make it last longer, just makes them look more heavy and cakey and harder to blend. Compared to this primer I actually find shadows look better with none at all and I still get the same wear time. I have oily lids and it still creases on me. Dries powdery and dry looking, and makes my mid 40’s eyelids look crepey. I wouldn’t recommend for mature lids. Makes my lids itchy and irritated.

I had been using UD’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Anti-Aging, for some time, but stopped using it when I noticed that the packaging changed from the squeeze tube to doe-foot applicator. That’s when I did my research and found bareMineral’s, Prime Time, eyelid primer. I’ve been using the original, non-sparkly version and it’s been great so far at about 4 months of use.
Staying power is very good for my oily, mono lids. I’m also very sensitive and allergic around my eyes, and this product doesn’t not bother me at all. I made sure sensitive eyes was part of my product search criteria.
The product comes in a tiny, 3 mL tube, which is perfect for travel. The tube holds a fair amount as it only takes a tiny smidgen to do both eyelids including the outer corners of my eyes where product tends to goop on me after a long day. It’s a bit pricey at $23 Canadian, but is a good deal considering how little is needed.

This is a very good eyeshadow primer that doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I still have to rank Illuminare Mineral Cream Shadow in Cafe Latte ahead of this, but Bare Minerals applies smoothly over dry eyelid skin and helps powder shadow last longer when applied on top. It also prolongs the wear of eyeliner. It doesn’t crease on me, but I don’t have oily eyelids. What I’m most happy about is that it doesn’t make my skin itch, and some of the primers I’ve tried have. Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base is probably my favorite primer, partly because I like the wand applicator, but it’s $25 and so I’m frequently tempted by the competition. However, Bare Minerals Prime Time is also pricey at $18, and the Nars container is larger, so it turns out I didn’t save.
Prime Time comes in a standard matte skin “Original” shade and then two “Brightening” shades. “Brightening Pearl” is pinkish white with subtle shimmer which has an opalescent quality. “Brightening Gold” has more obvious gold shimmer. I recommend testing the colors first at Ulta or Sephora instead of buying this product sight unseen. The Original shade will be the least visible on the skin.
When flying, this tiny tube takes up very little space in a small makeup bag.
Barium Sulfate can be irritating to some skin types, but I have been able to wear this without problems.

Hate this, It says brightening but I didn’t realise that meant sparkly, it ruins any matte eyeshadow look, really think tight and grainy texture so dries out the eyelids and you get too little product for what you pay. I’m so disappointed at how bad this product is. Brightening doesn’t mean sparkly!!! and also if you get this anywhere else other than the eye lid by accident that that area will remain sparkly e.g. the under eye or the inner eye.

This does help keep eyeshadow on if you have oily lids. The problem is that something about the formula made my eyes look really crepey – the skin on my lids looked ten years older when I used the product. Maybe if you’re super dewy and young, it’s not a problem, but for gals over 30, this does not seem to be the most flattering product out there. (Smashbox’s primer is much kinder to older eyes.)

This product is amazing because it’s shimmery which means that you can use it simply as an eyeshadow on school days for instance as it brightens up your eye or as a base for eyeshadow which keeps it on all day and doesn’t crease or go greasy 🙂

Gone are the days of smudged liner! I don’t know if I could call my self a connoisseur of liquid eye liner but I’ve used a fair share. Even the best liner would get smudged on my lids because of the way that my eyelid folds. Also, my lids get pretty oily. Well all of that’s in the past because of this fantastic primer. It goes on really smooth and dries in a second flat. Once it’s on you can see that it’s completely translucent. It pretty much mattifies the eyelid so you can put on liner or shadow easier. The best part is that it makes your eye makeup last ALL DAY without smudging! This is truly an HG product for me.

This is the best eye lid primer for oily eyelids. I also use it on my nose. It’s got just enough tint & stops eyeliner & eyeshadow from creasing & disappearing too! I like to wear it alone too to tone down my pinkish veins in my lids & in the sides of my nose. By far worth the cost.

Bare Minerals now offers several formulations of eye primer. The one I like is the newest one (out in 2014) that is less “glittery” – more matte. Applies easily and helps shadow to last a longer time withour creasing or smearing.
I like this eye primer better than Smashbox but not as well as the original BeautiControl “shadow control cream” which is sadly d/c’ed. (Dag-nabbit!)
A good product but test several formulae (go to the Bare Minerals/Bare Escentuals store if you can) as the older formula is sparkly.

I have the sample size of this and can BY FAR say this is my all time favorite eye primer. NO CREASES at all. Primer potion by UD will crease on me by about 6 hours in the day. This doesn’t budge. At all. Great for oily eyelids buy this!
