This is the best makeup brush I ever bought. I’ve had it for years and washed it over and over and it still looks like new. It’s the softest bristles of any brush I’ve used. So soft you cannot even feel it on your face. It applies powder perfectly, much better than the puffs that come with compacts. As for packaging I do remember it came in an annoying flimsy plastic case that was hard to open. But the brush is wonderful.

I’ve been using it for nearly 2 years and it has a solid handle which feels good in the hand, has a good length and the middle part is metal and the lower part is plastic or rubber I would say. The lower part of the handle goes a bit wider which is a bit annoying as I always have trouble to put it in my cub with the other brushes. But I saw on their website that they’ve changed the handle and color which is good. The bristles are soft and synthetic and apply the powder evenly, I do love using it to reduce bronzer or blush powder if I applied a bit too much! w

This is the brush I have used for its price, and it is underpriced for its quality.
The softest synthetic powder brush I have ever used is by La Mer; the Sephora Pro #91 followed by the IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe and Too Faced are nice, but for the price and marketing, are nowhere close to the La Mer. Ecotools is just scratchy, and the Sonia Kashuk was more firm and dense than I was looking for. I have sensitive skin and I hate the feeling of my brushes stabbing my face. Because I do not feel comfortable testing store brushes on my face, I brush them against the part of my wrist closest to my ulnar artery. This is the most sensitive part of my arm. If the bristles are too firm, you will definitely be able to tell!
I use this to re-apply my sunscreen and freshen up my makeup, Mary Philips (via Melissa Alatorre)-style. The bristles are soft, fluffy, full, yet not dense like an Artis brush. It stands up to liquid products and frequent rough re-washings, and I do not doubt its abilities for powder.
Best $9 I have ever spent, but if my husband does decide to gift me the La Mer brush, I will relegate this brush to travel.

I recently got this brush with the newer design (light pink handle) and I must say that I really do love it. I thought it was going to be too big but after using it I’ve realised it’s not bad at all. The brush head is huge and fluffy and the bristles feel so soft and luxurious. The brush itself picks up a lot of product so you might want to be careful when you use loose powders. The bristles distribute the product evenly and beautifully without streaks or patches. I love applying setting powder with this because it blends it out beautifully and my face doesn’t end up looking too caked with powder.

It’s a big powder brush. Actually, the size is too big for my face. I can set my cheeks and forehead perfectly but you can not reach every area of your face. I prefer to work precisely with powder, so I use this brush rarely. But it does its job so it deserves 4 lips.

I don’t get the hype about this brush. Yes, it’s soft enough and yes, it’s fluffy. But I don’t think it does the job all that well. It only (kinda) works for loose powder all over your face. I find that it picks up way too much product, but barely deposits any of it. So in my experience, it just picks up a whole lot of product and wastes it. I just really don’t understand this brush or why anyone likes it. I think it might work well for blending out harsh contour lines, blush and highlight. But do you really need an extra brush for that? I don’t.

Bobbi Brown makes quality products and it shows. I’ve had this brush since I was first allowed to wear makeup. That’s 6 years. Mind you at the beginning I wasn’t taking care of it the way it should have been and its still lasted! There is shedding but I think that’s to be expected of a natural hair product. With proper care, which I started with a bit lte, this brush really lasts.
The performance is good as well. I use this to apply loose and pressed powder and it picks up the perfect amount of product. The hairs are soft which is nice because feeling harsh fibres against your face is irritating. I would reccommend this product as its an investment and could ptentially last you years or even decades, depending on how you feel about that.

I think I am over the high end brush need/want. For me, brushes from Real Techniques and It Cosmetics brushes work just as well. This Bobbi Brown Powder Brush is a big disappointment. Yes, the brush looks lovely, classy, like a professional makeup artist’s brush. But that is where the ‘wow’ ends for me (and even that is not much of a ‘wow’). I do not find this soft at all, in fact, many of my Real Techniques brushes are just as soft and some It Cosmetics brushes are as soft and even softer. This Bobbi Brown Powder Brush does not seem to pick up product for me as well as some of the other brushes mentioned. Also, The It Cosmetics brushes that are comparable often come with protective individual casing for the actual brush part, which is nice. This Bobbi Brown Powder Brush arrived with that cheap shrink wrap stuff covering the brush, reminds me of the miserable-to-remove plastic wrap on cheap drugstore Wet and Wild lipsticks. This retails for a little over $60.00USD with tax, so to me, this is overpriced and you are likely paying for the name (sorry, jmo!!). The brush looks lovely, feels very nice in the hands, but it’s actual performance is just ‘okay’ for me; not soft at all for me, really. Some harder powder blushes this does not pick up. I love a lot of Bobbi Brown products, but not impressed with this brush. Also does not wash up very easily. *shrug*

Update (June 2017):
This brush started to shed right after I’ve posted this review. It became unusable in less than 6 months, very disappointed. Won’t buy it again. Lately, lots of people complain about shedding brushes at Bobbi Brown website. I guess they have changed the glue. Some of my four years old brushes are still doing strong while everything I bought last year is already thrown away due to excessive shedding.

I own a bunch of Bobbi Brown brushes. I love them, but some hardly can be used as described.
This powder brush is a great brush for applying bronzer and not precise contouring, however, I find it completely unsuitable for power. The head is too small and too tapered.
I use Bobbi Brown bronzer brush to apply powder instead, the bronzer brush is way larger and has rounded head (too large for bronzer, but perfect for powder).
I own these brushes for three years and I do not notice any hair falls. Don’t think I will need a replacement in a couple of next years.

Surprised with all the negative reviews on this brush. I love this brush! I like the fact it’s tapered unlike a lot of other powder brushes I own. It’s great for applying my setting powder and it’s also good for bronzing and contouring. Bobbi does some great brushes in my opinion.

This is a nice brush very soft to use on the face. However, a word of caution. Each time I use it, bristles come off and I have to pick them off my skin. Very annoying. Also, its a bit long and doesn’t fit easily in a handbag. I have this and also the Bobbi Brown Face Blender which doesn’t do its job at all.
I would not buy either of them again and will try next for Chanel Brushes. They do what it says on the tin.

This is the worst brush i have ever used. It’s soft and has a nice design and everything but….. its’ hair keeps on shedding! After 3 months and after 6 washes!!! It is so frustrating to see black hair pieces on your face every time you put on powder. If this keeps on like this i will end up with a stick without any hair on, really it’s awful. I will never buy a brush from Bobbi Brown again.

I’ve had this brush for a few years. Love the tapered shape. Makes application more precise. But it still sheds a bit (not a lot but a few hairs with each use). I’m kinda obsessive about keeping my brushes clean because my skin is hyper reactive, so I wash it routinely with Bobbi Brown Conditioning Brush Cleaner (a very nice product by the way).
But I’m only giving it 3 lippies because it is somewhat scratchy. I have to use the sides to avoid the scratchiness. For the price it should be much softer. Will be looking for a suitable replacement.

I have about twenty:ish Morphe brushes and this review is applicable to pretty much all of them, although I’m leaving it here because the powder brush was the first hit when searching Morphe brushes on Makeup Alley.
So after years of hype and discount codes all over the interwebs, I bought two sets of Morphe brushes (including the powder brush). They are so cheap, it’s not a huge loss if I end up hating them, was my rationale. And I did. End up hating them, that is.
Now, I haven’t tried EVERY brush from Morphe. But the two sets I got included many different types of base, eye and finishing brushes, and with each of them, I’ve had every issue you hope to avoid with makeup brushes. They’re uneven, they shed (to the point where I have to go over my face plucking off 5-10 stray bristles with tweezers after using them), and they’re coarse, which is especially an issue with the eye brushes, because they hurt and sensitize the skin on my eyelids.
Could come down to technique, of course, I’m not a pro, but I own brushes from several other mid-range and budget brands – the majority are from Zoeva and Real Techniques, and I have random ones from Sigma, EcoTools, MAC, bareMinerals, Nyx, Lily Lolo and so on. They vary in quality, some shed a bit, others are not as soft as I would prefer… but none of them are anywhere near as awful as the Morphe ones. Morphe are the worst quality brushes I’ve ever encountered.
So, Morphe brushes are my backups for when all else are in the “to clean” jar, and I’m never buying more of them. I’m sticking to Zoeva, their brushes have never disappointed me.
If Morphe works for you, I’m happy for you, they’re super affordable and they offer a wide variety of different brushes, but the wear and tear on my eyelids as well as my patience is just too much for me.

I have been getting morphe brushes for a year now and these still are my go to brushes for the price,I do like Sigma but I have more morphe than those.they are soft as can be and I am in the monthly brush club so the January came today and I love them.the bronzer contour brush is my go to super soft and blends the powder in very well.I recommend these to anyone who loves eye shadow .

Great powder brush that is super soft and works well with powders and blushes. I love this for bronzers especially. It never picks up too much or too little and it doesn’t shed. This brush runs about $20 bucks but feels and works as if it costs much more.
This is my first Morphe brush and I will be buying more. These are really worth the price. Most of what I have seen from them mimic MAC brushes and Sigma for less. I think these are a higher quality than Sigma.

Updated Sonia Kashuk Powder brushes from the core collection are coming in three different sizes and cost 21-22$.
The large brush is huge. It has large and very head and large and very light handle. It feels very imbalanced. Bristles aren’t really soft and it definitely doesn’t deserve its price tag.
The medium brush is okay, it feels more balanced, but it doesn’t deserve its price tag because even ELF brushes feel softer and better made.
The tapered powder brush is best for a blush, but once again the head is too heavy compared to the handle and bristles are far cry from Real Techniques Blush brush.
Very overpriced and uncomfortable to use.

I bought this brush a few years ago and used it religiously, then I accidentally left it at my mom’s, along with some other things. She mailed my other stuff back to me but not this brush, even though I specifically mentioned it. She doesn’t even wear makeup?!! Why did she keep it?! Maybe one of my sisters found it at her house and stole it, that is the likely story. See how much I care about a makeup brush?! That’s because it’s a damn great brush. Super soft, never shed on me, and most importantly, large enough to give you a perfect powder job. I don’t know why, but I’ve found it hard to find a truly big, fluffy face brush. Held up through multiple washes. I replaced it with a Nars powder brush, and even though it was way more expensive, it just isn’t the same. Scratchy, sheds, and not quite large enough. (I got the Nars off Amazon, maybe it was a knockoff?). Anyway, I was impressed with this one Sonia Kashuk makeup brush I had, and I think I’m gonna get myself one of her brush sets for Christmas. Great quality, especially for the price.

I was lucky enough to have a dear friend ship this to me from the US, together with another Sonia Kashuk brush set. I was surprised to read that many have experienced phenomenal shedding with this brush as mine hasn’t at all. I’ve had this since 2008, and the brush is a good 7 years old now but it still looks as good as new. I really like pairing this brush with loose powder as the size of the brush allows me to dust the powder all over quickly and evenly. It’s a wonderful and affordable drugstore brush that is rather soft (of course, I cannot compare this to Hakuhodo / Suqqu brushes) and does the job really well.

This is for the white painted wooden handled one which I purchased many years ago when Sonia Kashuk first came to Target. I don’t think they make these anymore but i just had to attest to its longevity. It was my first real make up brush, so not surprisingly- at the time, it was the most expensive brush I’d ever purchased and it was squirrel hair. I paid around $10. I have fancier brushes now. Yet, I have used this brush almost daily with regular washings and it is still my most used brush. I’ve had 2 issues-it went through a shedding phase a couple of years back to the point that I’d have to pick hairs off my face and I thought it was a goner. Eventually, it stopped shedding and is still very fluffy so I’m glad I stuck with it. I’ve had to superglue the wooden handle to the ferrule once or twice and the white paint has peeled some but considering how long I’ve had it and how much I’ve washed it, that’s pretty amazing. The white ones I’ve seen in the last few years seem different and the handle appears to be plastic so when I do have to replace this, I will get the black handled one and hope it lives up to this.

I love this brush. I actually use it as my powder brush, to just apply powder to my t-zone. I bought it several years ago, when SK first came to Target. I have bought other brushes in the interim, thinking I might be on to something better, but none of them prevail. This brush is soft, and splayed nicely so that product doesn’t land on your face super-concentrated. That is my biggest complaint with other brushes. When this brush finally does die, I will get another.

This is an incredibly soft and wonderful brush to set powder over foundation. It’s absolutely divine and large and not at all harsh on your skin, just very very soft.
The price is way expensive but worth it. I think I paid $100 for it? Nevertheless it is good quality so I’m okay with that. No bristles have fallen out, even after multiple cleans and daily use. My makeup is set perfectly. Honestly, I love this brush.

I think this is a very useful brush and is great for applying any other powder not just sheercover. I use it to press down my foundation with natural collection press powder pot. The bristles are nice and soft and dont feel harsh on my skin at all. The price is a bit high but it lasts you a lifetime and it is worth buying it. Although the handle looks breakable because it looks like glass. It’s not, it is actually made of plastic but it gives off a very stylish effect. Sheercover make great makeup brushes so I also recommened the concealer brush for detail on imperfections and the blusher brush which helps to highlight your cheekbones! x

I dislike the brush, it is way too rough on the skin and it always feels as if I’ve been scratching my skin after I’ve used it. This is NOT a good make up brush, especially not for powder. You are better off investing in a soft kabuki brush.

The Up & Up complexion brush is fantastic, but this brush is just ok. You can grab these for a great price, because Target runs sales on them quite often. (I bought on Cyber Monday for $2)
I think it is not dense enough for applying powder.
The brush is super soft – one of the softest I own, it feels great on the skin. The handle is nice and sturdy. I use it to brush off excess powder, and really like it for this. It isn’t an HG must-have for me, but at this price point, I will re-purchase.

It is really annoying to have a face full of makeup, then have to pick off the hairs from the brush, which effectively ruins the makeup that you’ve just put on. Super disappointed with this brush, got it as a christmas present this year. First use I had 3 or 4 of the bristles fall out onto my face (major pain in the butt trying to pick those suckers off!). I wash my face brushes after every use because I have super sensitive skin and I’m prone to acne, and every time I use/wash this brush more bristles fall out. Not worth the money, I have cheap walmart brushes that have held up better after 50 + uses/washes than this did with just one!

I can’t remember when I bought this brush, but I know that I have had it for at least 3-4 years. I bought it at Shoppers Drug Mart and I’m pretty sure I spent at least $20 CDN on it. This brush never shed its hairs, until very recently. When I’m doing my make-up, I usually have to pick 1-3 hairs off my face. The brush works ok in terms of its purpose and is not scratchy on my face, the problem I have with this brush is that the dye is constantly running. It still happens even after owning the brush for a couple of years. It doesn’t run and leave dark marks on my face when I’m doing my make-up, it only runs after I washed my brush and left it on a paper towel to dry. The paper towel would be stained with a dark indigo color exactly where the brush head used to be. Because of that, I’m reluctant to use this brush and I’m on the lookout for a good quality powder brush that won’t harm my wallet.

I use this brush for my setting powder and it performs beautifully. I press it on with this in very tight little gentle strokes and then use this same brush to flick any excess off. I used to use velour puffs but this is much more precise and I love the bristles. I have heard it is pony hair but I am not sure. Regardless it is soft and superior in quality. I have had no shedding and use this whenever I use setting powder pretty much. Gorgeous brush in quality and application. I highly recommend.

I’ve never encountered a powder brush quite like this one. It’s very small and flat. In fact, it’s smaller than the blush brush from the same line! I guess Sue Devitt purposely had it shaped this way because she prefers to press powder into skin rather than sweep it on and it’s made small for more precise application. When I bought this a few years ago I didn’t realize that but was drawn to it because I have small cheeks and needed a smaller blush brush for them. I just started really getting into loose powder this year and started playing around with my various powder and kabuki brushes and velour puffs and rediscovered this brush. This brush and the application method it was designed for is similar to a velour puff (which I typically prefer over brushes) but with more precise application and without looking as heavy as velour puffs tend to do. Like the best of both worlds. The brush itself is very silky/soft and never sheds and has held up well to regular washings. It’s currently $45 which is significantly less than what I’ve paid for before Sue Devitt lowered her brush prices. Absolutely worth the money and I’m even considering getting another one for travel.

I purchased one off of E-bay which is a powder/blush brush. The price was dirt cheap and no one else bid on it. When I received the item it had the new Sue Devitt logo and I noticed the plastic sleeve said Made in USA. I thought the Sue Devitt brushes were all made in France. pircosmetics.com and beauty.com both sell the brushes and that is what the description said. They retail for $45-$50. I noticed they do NOT make a powder/blush brush, either or don’t have them listed for sale.
This brush is very soft, but flat and floppy. It had some glue in the bristles which was easily removed. It has an awful solvent smell, too. Either her new brushes quality has gone down the tubes, or this is a second, OR a FAKE. Needless to say, I was disappointed in it, and it will end up being tossed.
I know you take your chances with buying off of E-bay. I wonder if the reviewers below purchased the same type of brush. I wanted to add the reviews may not be fair to this brush, especially if we didn’t purchase to real thing.

Hmmm it seems like I’m the only one here who LOVES this brush. I’ve been looking forever for a blush brush, and I finally found it! Although the brush is labeled as a powder/blush brush, I only use it for BLUSH since I rarely use powder. This brush has really soft hair that picks up color really well. I would definitely repurchase, BUT on ebay because this brush retails for $50, and I most likely would never spend that much on a makeup brush 😉

How can this be a powder brush the head is so small. I use it to apply highlighter and blush. My hand has already started to rub off the logo which is annoying. It is really soft which is a plus but at 45.00 bucks I won’t get it again, thank goodness for ebay!

I was surprised at the length of this brush–the handle is just 5.25 inches, and I have the travel sized version which manages to be even tinier. The handle is a chic matte light green with silver ferrule.
The brush itself is great quality, no fallout and super soft pony hair bristles. However, it is small and has a flat head, so I tend to use it more as a blush brush than a powder brush.

My Revlon powder brush is red and on the squat side. I think it’s a travel version, but it’s full and soft and doesn’t shed much. I’ve had it for years and it’s in very good condition, unlike some of my other brushes that have cracked or broken. I’d definitely repurchase it.

This brush is an excellent price, however, I have noticed that after only around 2 weeks, quite a few of the bristles had fallen out. The brush is a good size for my face and it is quite soft. As well as using this brush to apply pressed powder, I also use it to apply liquid foundation as I feel that it allows the foundation to be applied smoothly to my face.
I also noticed that a lot of the pressed powder/liquid foundation is concentrated on the middle of the brush so it is not spread evenly around the brush, however, I have found that this does not affect the application of products too much and I can still achieve good coverage on my skin.
Overall, I would recommend this brush to people who are looking for an average quality brush at a great price.

Apparently there’s more than one version of this brush. The one I bought has a black and silver handle and it was either $9 or $12 at Ulta. I haven’t been wearing makeup for that long, so I’m not that knowledgeable about brushes at the moment. This was a last minute purchase so I didn’t have time to check the reviews. I was on a time crunch and needed something quick and it seemed like a good option at time. I was hoping to apply pressed finishing powder in a light and even manner and I thought a big fluffy brush like this one would do the job. I find that it’s okay in application of pressed powder but it does seem to eat up a lot of the product. It also sheds, not a crazy amount but enough for me to have to check my face several times for strays before I leave the house. There’s nothing like having a big, black bristle stuck to your face without realizing it, which did happen to me. I guess you could say it’s soft but I don’t really have much to compare it to. It does feel a little rough with application and especially prickly near the eye area. I haven’t washed it yet, but I will be doing that asap and I’ll amend this review with that info. This brush comes in a clear, plastic sleeve with a snap closure and I have no complaints about it. I would not buy this product again. I’d much rather spend more money on a powder brush that is reliable and better quality.

for a loose powder brush, this brush is amazing. it picks up a good amount of powder & barely sheds. but with pressed powders it comes to a downfall; it pick up barely if anything of the product. for bronzer, unless you have a loose bronzer & a light hand this can do wonders.

My brush came in a travel set of three: Powder brush, Lip Brush, Slanted eye shadow brush. The handle is short and black and the fibers are long and black. While the other 2 brushes are bearable, the powder brush is horrible. It is extremely rough and scratchy. It is also long and flimsy – so you can neither buff with it nor swirl like you would with a fluffy brush. The only good use I found for it is to take off the top layer of the blushes that have gone hard.
Save your money and don’t come close to this brush.

Sounds like there are many different Revlon powder brushes. Mine has a black handle with red lettered REVLON at the bottom. It’s a dome-shaped fluffy powder brush. It’s soft enough and a good size, but mine SHEDS — sheds, sheds, sheds. I used this for bronzer on my neck and decollette and I seriously had to spend 15 minutes picking off the hairs. When I use on the face to apply translucent powder, it doesn’t shed as bad, but I still have to pick off 4-5 hairs every time. I wouldn’t repurchase this one.

I recently bought the Revlon powder brush at Wal-Mart because I needed something to apply my finishing powder. I wanted a big chunky brush and thats what I got. Its got a full head of very soft natural bristles, which has shed one or two hairs, mostly do to the fact that I have been carrying it around with me (I have been on the go since I purchased it and haven’t gone home yet), and a nice black lacquered birch wood handle which has a pleasant weight to it. This is a substantial brush and I LOVE it, I only wish it was offered in a short handled version for travel. It works wonders with my finishing powder and I think it would be equally suited for applying powder foundations as well. All in all its a great brush, I paid a little over $10 for it, which is an excellent price. I spend alot of time drooling over brushes (usually paint brushes rather than make up brushes) and I do not regret this purchase for a second. I only wish the package was a little sturdier because thats what I have been keeping it in while I am away from home. -___- (This is where I kick myself for not having a brush case.) I would definitely repurchase this if something were to happen to it!

RMK makes surprisingly affordable high end makeup brushes. This face powder brush is made from a blend of squirrel & goat hairs. Unlike classic powder brushes which are round & fluffy to be used in a swirling motion, RMK’s is tapered & flatter. You need to use it in a swiping motion or even tapping motion. An advantage is you won’t swirl your foundation away. I find it to be soft against my skin and not scratchy at all. It picks up my pressed finishing powder easily. The brush comes with a plastic pouch which can be used to protect the brush when travelling.

I really love this brush alot alot! It feels so soft on my skin! The brush is made of goat fur, therefore it is really soft and won’t cause any irritation to my skin. Love this brush!

I’m sure you heard this zillion times but, this brush is sooo soft.
It feels great on my skin, especially migrating from MAC 129 that feels scratchy on my dry skin. I know it’s not fair comparing RMK powder brush vs MAC 129 but that’s all I have at the moment.
It picks up powder and distributes pretty well. It does took me a bit more effort to put on enough product compared to Mac 129, but I don’t mind that at all because it’s so soft, I won’t stop swiping it on my face 🙂
The hair is pretty dense but not the densest out there.
But for $67, it’s far from bad!
I was considering Hakuhodo B509Bksl before, but somehow I’m attracted by RMK powder brush’s domed shape.
It’s handle is actually pretty light. For my little hand, I think the handle length is pretty comfortable. Some people might find it too short, though.

I bought this to use with my loose powders and I love it! It is fluffy, not dense, so you could flick off powder very gently without moving anything else you’ve put on. It looks fat but you can use it right under your eyes as well. It’s VERY soft, even softer than the supposedly soft synthetic brushes I know (like Ecotools & the Body Shop). And it’s definitely nicer, softer and more lemming-worthy than LM, BB, Chanel and Dior powder brushes – these are all IMHO very scratchy for the price.
If you are looking for a brush to buff in powder, however, this will not do it – you need something dense but soft for that.
Also I’ve washed it countless times and it hasn’t shed a single hair. I also love that it’s very elegant and chic looking. Aaand it also comes with a plastic case/protector so you could tote it about wherever you go.
The only contenders for this are the Hakuhodo & the Suqqu – which I hope to get my hands on soon but I am extremely pleased to find out that this brush is made by the same company who makes brushes for Suqqu.

I have 3 of this RMK face powder brush and LOVE it! I have a MAC face brush also, but prefer this one to the MAC’s because it’s super soft and the handle is black and is very chic looking. The price here is now about $70 which went up from $65 or something after the brush was re-produced. The quality is very good and gentle to my sensitive skin. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice highend powder brush(face brush) UNLESS you’re against to using animal hair(fur) because this brush is made of squirrel’s and goat’s…

This squirrel powder brush is soft after each wash and use. It doesn’t drop as much hair as Bobbi brown. I like this brush. Would defintely recommend anyone who wants to try RMK beauty tools. 😉

The brush handle is very long and this is a lean brush, but the brush heads are just too long in my opinion. The brush is not sturdy and applies product in a non-uniform fashion. Don’t spend your money. There are other companies out there that make better brushes and same or lower prices. Check out Sigma brushes.

Awful product. Useless because it sheds and I end up with bristles on my face and clothes. Also, the handle is separating from the brush, I have to fix it or it will fall apart. For the price I expected a quality product, obviously, this failed big time.

The only brush that i have ever bought from EL was the old concealer brush. I thought it was a really good brush but i hate the handle.The re-designed brushes looks 10x better with the navy blue wooden handle and gold ferrule.
I purchased the powder brush last year and so far i think its pretty good. Not too much shedding. Overall,i really like it. 🙂

I wanted to buy a pwder brush so i went to the MAC counter. Their brush was not soft s.o in leaving the store I went pass the EL counter
and looked at their brush. I ended up buying Estee Lauder powder brush and i love it!! It is thick and holds a lot of product. It is sooo
soft and it doesnt lose any bristles. I would recommend this brush!!

EDIT 03/28/12—I will absolutely NOT repurchase any Estee Lauder products until they choose to quit misleading their customers about animal testing and fully commit to a no animal testing policy.
Loves it!!!! I didn’t want to buy it. But after a couple of trips to the EL counter where they used this magical brush I had to have it. So soft. Hasn’t shed a single hair. It’s dense and I use to apply DW Mineral Rick Powder and it is perfection. It’s crazy expensive but I suspect I won’t have to buy another one for….ever.

I like some Estée Laudar makeup and skin care, but this powder brush (as well as the blush brush) are just bad. I didn’t want to go for a MAC because it was only a little bit more expensive…well… end up spending 90 canadian dollars for powder and blush brush at Estée Lauder. I feel so silly about this everytime I think about the money I spent! They do not blend well and the quality of the hair is not good, the outer ones start pointing in every direction during the first weeks… Never again!

i got this brush for free with a huge makeup set. i wasn’t happy with this brush along with the blush brush as well as the palette. the brushes don’t apply well and the eyeshadows weren’t pigmented.

I don’t know which number of brush this is. It’s a mini powder brush from a set I got for $125 sadly I can’t find the rest of the brushes just this but I use it for evthing from blending hi-lite & concealer to loose powder it’s a mini brush. It does shed every so often a few hairs it’s annoying bc my Charlotte Tilbury, Inglot, MAC & ELF (dude…elf!) brushes never shed. I tucked away the other brushes & now I can’t remember where I put them. Arghhh! They will turn up. This is my kind of evthing brush except fdtn (& eyes of course) it is the last thing touching on my face besides lips go on very last. I’d be lost without this little guy! I’ll find my brushes sooner or later. No biggie yet not time to panic (yet) I’ll report back when I find my set fwiw 🙂

This is for Powder brush #1. My first Chanel brush. I’ve had this for abt 5 months now and the handle is wiggling. the hair is soft but I expected it to be more sturdy. disappointed. I prefer my MAC brushes over this and they have been lasting so long for me

Chanel Touch -up brush ( Le Petit Pinceau) I was so looking forward to using this lovely shaped brush and the shop assistant when asked said “no hairs come out on your face ” !!! Well I am so disappointed with the brush it does look lovely and apart from a lot of hairs coming out when using the blusher goes on well as it is a good make also but this brush I will not buy again surely in this day and age at this price they can do something to stop this happening so not happy with this at all so fed up of getting hairs of face with tweezers ? what brush can you recommend no hairs bush a smooth brush similar shape ?

First let me say that this is an expensive brush at 70$CAD but I got it with Optimum Points at Murale (yay!). While it is expensive, I’ve seen good reviews of Chanel brushes in general so I went for it. I was not disappointed with mine. I’d like to specify that this is a review of the updated version with the silver ferrule (No. 1 Powder Brush).
It is a nice full rounded brush and it picks up a perfect amount of product. It works with loose powders as well as compact powders. With compact powders, you can just dip the brush into the compact and it picks up a nice even layer on the brush hairs so that it applies evenly onto skin. You can just roll the brush onto your skin for a nice sheer layer. It never looks cakey. You can also use it to sweep product across your face but I don’t think I would use it to buff powder foundation on the face (I think a flatter brush would be better for that). You can also use it to apply blush if you like a wider more diffused application. I would say its too big to do detailed application.
I haven’t had it for very long so I can’t say how it holds up over the years but I’ve seen good reviews of other Chanel brushes so I’m confident it should keep well. A noticed a little bit of dye transfer when I first washed it but it was very minimal. It lost perhaps one hair up til now, and it doesn’t shed when applying makeup.
Up to date I really enjoy using this brush, and it makes powdering quick, easy and flawless.

I absolutely love this brush! It’s soft and it doesn’t pick up too much powder. When the brush doesn’t pick up too much powder, makeup results would be less cakey. It is really expensive.. paid $70CDN for it but I think it was worth every penny.

I decided to collect/gather all the Chanel brushes that are out there because I am a very loyal Chanel makeup buyer and I would like to apply my Chanel makeup using Chanel brushes. I do realize that there are lots of other great brands for professional makeup brushes, such as Suqqu, Mac, etc. but as I do trust Chanel and love their makeup, I am using Chanel brushes.
I have 4 Chanel brushes at the moment, but my collection is not full yet. I have the Foundation Brush, the Powder Brush, the Blush Brush and the Cream Eyeshadow Brush. I would like to buy the Angled Powder Brush, the Touch Up Brush and 3-4 eyeshadow brushes in the next couple of months.
Let me first say that I am extremely contented and happy with all my Chanel brushes I already own, their are excellent quality, and my makeup looks even better applied with them. Chanel has just launched a new collection of brushes. The old brushes had longer and shiny handles and the metallic elements were golden. The new brushes have shorter and matt handles, their metallic elements are silver. Now, some of the brushes are made in France while others are made in China. There cannot be any explainable reason to that but I am pretty sure that all Chanel brushes wherever they are made, are excellent and brilliant. The brushes that are made in China have their number and saying what they are for on them. All Chanel brushes come in a velvet pouch.
This powder brush is so soft, it feels like caressing my face with my cat’s tail every single morning when I apply my loose powder. Its touch comforts me for being obliged to get up early in the morning. Great quality. I do recommend you to get it.

I bought the “Large Powder Brush.” It has a long tapered wooden handle and the bristles are arranged in a fairly flat oval shape. It’s become my favourite dual blush/bronzer brush for patting (instead of packing or brushing) them on: I do one side with bronzer, the flip it and use the other size for blush. I wouldn’t say this brush is very precise, but I don’t use it for precision – I use it for even washes of powder.
I mainly love how soft the bristles are: it literally feels like I’m patting my face with a cute small animal … (???) It is very therapeutic in the morning when I have just woken up late-ish and everything feels hectic.

I am convinced that Ecotools meant to sell this brush for $50 instead of $5. It is literally the softest brush I have ever felt. Makes Clinique ones and other brushes you pay $20 for feel like sandpaper. Plus, it applies my powder beautifully. AND, there is NO shedding! I have been using this for a week and not one bristle has come out. Woohoo!

This is the softest brush I have ever felt or used…I have at least 20 powder/blush type brushes, from MAC, Bliss, IT, Real Techniques, ELF, to Bobbi Brown, this Ecotools powder brush blows them out of the water. I just picked it up at Walmart last week for about $9, and have been using it for bronzer, blush, loose powder foundations etc…I actually need to get a second one so i can have a clean one handy for powder foundations, it’s that good..Definitely recommend.

This brush is great for applying powder in small amount (e.g. loose powder, powder blushers) evenly and quickly.
I use this to apply blush just like the other review. I am no expert but I’ve tried applying blushers with different brushes and I’d say this one is perfect for blushes. It picks up powder blushers easily (with minimal fall out because it LITERALLY IS BIG ENOUGH TO CATCH THEM ALL) and it distributes the powder evenly on my cheeks. I’d just have to dab this brush into the product, both sides of the brush, and then gently swipe it on my face, once or twice depending on the pigmentation, and done. I don’t have to blend or anything because the edges are already soft. For loose powder, this would get the job done, too, for the same reason.
However for powder foundation it probably is going to take a lot of time for you to get a good coverage as you’d only get your foundation at the end of the bristles and boy ain’t that little for coverage. It may be my method of applying or it was supposed to be like that, but a sponge always does a better job in applying powder foundation anyway. Great brush!
Update (10 June):
After a few wash the bristles hardened. It may be solved by adding a few drops of oil into the water when washing but I didn’t do so, because it actually made it easier to grab on powder. But it definitely is not as soft as before!
Update (20 Aug):
I tried adding a drops of oil after cleansing my brush, the brush is now softer. Do not ever need to repurchase!

This is a very nice BLUSH brush. I have the Real Techniques blush brush, and I prefer this one. It’s not as soft as the Real Technique’s, but that actually works for it as its much easier to pick up cheaper blusher color with it, since those tend to be on the drier side.
I like the size of it as well: its big enough to blend blusher almost instantly, but not so big blush goes all over your face. Its not too dense or too sparse, which is great for blush.
I bet this would work fine as a powder brush, put I think it’s not soft enough for that, and you cannot buff with it, or apply powder underneath the eyes. Also, the bristles got a lot harder after washing it for the first time. Perhaps…I need to condition them? Haven’t tried that.

This brush is incredible. I’ve owned a lot of brushes, some high end, most not high end. This one is the softest, by far. This may sound strange, but it’s truly a pleasure to feel and use on the skin because of how gentle it is. Most brands would charge upwards of $10 (at least) for a brush of this size/caliber, but this retails for under $10 and I got mine for around $5 on Amazon. It’s very sturdy and well constructed, plus Eco Tools uses recycled materials which is a huge bonus. It’s very fluffy and large, so it’s perfect for setting my face or bronzer. It deposits allllllll the product on your face. No powder gets caught in the hairs of this brush whatsoever, it always looks as if it’s been freshly washed. I feel like I’m really getting my money’s worth out of products when I use this brush, because no product is wasted. And even though it deposits all the product, it still applies my makeup in a beautifully soft, diffused manner. It’s probably my most reached for brush because it’s so dependable and high quality. I love it.

I use this for blending out my highlight, blush and contour as well as dusting away any baking. I feel like this brush is way too fluffy and never actually picks up any product at all for setting the face whether a compact or loose powder is used. I use the Wet n Wild Flat Top brush which is so dense and non-absorbent that powder gets picked up perfectly.

I am not by any means a brush expert but I do love this brush. As others say, it’s quite a big brush but I like that. It’s also very fluffy and a pleasure to use. Gives an even finish. My favourite thing about this brush is however its amazing quality and the fact that it’s cruelty-free (massive thumbs up). It’s very easy to wash but dries quite fast. Doesn’t shed at all! The handle is sturdy and the brush can stand up which is awesome and really practical, especially if you have to do your make-up in less than ideal hygiene conditions, e.g. when travelling.

I prefer to use this brush to apply loose or compact powder foundations. I don’t use brushes to set makeup, I prefer to use a damp beauty blender and pat setting powder on the tzone area. This brush provides a great finish to my Lancome, Shiseido, and Maybelline Better Skin powder foundations. Its priced well, washes well and is well worth the $9-$10. I have every RT brush that they make, and have never been disappointed… RT and Ecotools make excellent brushes.

There are some cons to this product like the smell (when it’s new), not so soft bristles, extremely long handle and the exorbitant price. I decided to shell out the full price for this brush because I was having a hard time finding a decent powder brush that is suitable for my skin type.
My tzone is extremely oily while the other parts of my face are so dry in contrast. I never used to powder my cheeks because my powder brush would always mess with my foundation especially in my inner cheek area (near the sides of the nose). It would annoy me to no end because it would the makeup there look so red. blotchy and cakey. But this never happened with this powder brush which is why I am so in love with it. The tapered tip makes it easy to place setting powder anywhere on my face. It also doesn’t make the powder look cakey at all. I can even use it for my finishing powder (Meteorites).

Hands down the best powder brush. I hesitated buying this first because it seemed a bit little for a powder brush but it is actually quite big. Just perfect. Picks right amount of powder and applies and blends it like no tomorrow. Never sheds or bleed just amazing. Go get it already. (In my country it is 80$ (168₺) so yes it is really expensive but I would buy immediately if it had the same price it has in US)

i have owned this for a year now and it is a great powder brush. it is big but not super big like some of the powder brushes and that is what i like about it. it has a little bit of tapered tip which lets me get around the nose and under the eyes easily. the bristles are very soft, feels similar to my laura mercier blush brush and paula dorf cheek brush. the brush itself is very light. it is quite long and so it is not ideal to travel with but works perfect for me at home, daily use. i recommend getting it at sephora during friends and family sale!

This is for the white handle brush – I’ve never had a brush that sheds so much in my life. It’s not like every once in a while i end up with hairs on my face.. it’s every time i use it. It gets really annoying to have to constantly pick the shedding hairs off my face all the time. Other than that though, the brush is nice and soft and gives me a nice dusting of my power over my foundations.

oh mah gawd this brush shed like THIRTY bristles over my face this morning-WTH? i bought this SK brush because of rave youtube reviews-seriously?! i have no issues spending more money on a quality brush but for $20.00 i expected better than this. it got all in my eyes too and onto my contacts. i am so disappointed. the size of the brush is fine but its just nasty that all the bristles are all over my face afterwards. i had to use my bare minerals powder brush to brush it all off. i am SO returning this to target today!!

Not a very good brush, but then I got it free so I can’t say the price was not right. It’s pretty stiff and scratchy and the bristles started coming out almost immediately. I would never buy it on its own, but I’ll use it since I don’t prefer to waste things.

Honestly…this brush is crap. I used to love it, but that’s before I knew anything about make up brushes. I would never use this again for any serious make up application. There’s fallout, when I do use it it leaves hairs on my face which is definitely aggravating, it’s also is really scratchy and definitely not soft at all and feels like I’m using sandpaper on my face.. Overall, this is the crappiest brush I own, but I keep it on hand when I need a clean brush to blend. I rarely use it though. Blah.

I was very disappointed with this brush. I used it twice and each time it shed a crazy amount of bristles. Luckily, I called Shoppers Drug Mart and they’re going to let me exchange it for their Minerals Matter Double Concealer, which works wonders on my skin!

Worst powder brush I’ve ever used. It sheds like crazy and when you wash it, black dye runs off every time. If you are looking for a decent brush at a fraction of the Quo brushes price… you are better off buying from Coastal Scents!!
