I decided to try this despite it having clove and orange peel oil in it – clove oil can be irritating to some skin types and orange peel oil can increase sensitivity to the sun so I try to avoid these, but I could barely detect any scent at all when testing it so the amounts of the fore mentioned, and the lavender oil as well, are very little.
Putting this side, this is a decent oil blend and nice to use because it is light and my dry skin absorbs it completely within an hour.
It is packaged in the typical dropper bottle but the bottle is frosted so I have no worries about storing it out of direct light and can leave it on my vanity. The amount one gets is quite generous for an oil blend, but it does have coco-caprylate/caprate – a coconut oil derivative & an inexpensive emmolient, so those who respond poorly to coconut oil should avoid this, as well as anyone looking for more of a workhorse oil.

THIS IS A PART OF MY BEAUTY ROUTINE,I LOVE IT

I was hesitant to try an oil because my skin is oily, but all the bloggers proclaiming the benefits of tsubaki oil got to me. It’s very expensive, but it’s really helped fade my acne marks 🙂 I agree that the oil is anti-aging and hydrating, but it makes my skin even shinier than it was before even if I apply just -one- drop. I figure that some people are into that, but it’s not for me. I still use this, but only at night when my roommate is the only person who sees me.
Also, after a particularly hot, humid, skin-drying training session at the pool, I put this on to help recover some of that lost moisture.

I think this is a game changer in your skincare routine, a must try!
Background info: oily combo skin type, slightly sensitive skin user, acne / blemish prone skin. I also have visible pores around my cheek and nose area.
I bought this in a set, together with the deep hydrating clay konjac sponge & the cleansing oil gel. It was on a sale and i noticed that this particular product was highly raved, so why not?
I have tried Tarte Maracuja oil, and I’m going to do a bit of comparison since they’re both…..oils. (lol) and even though the Tarte oil worked, it wasn’t my fav.
I think this works amazing!
Pros:
+ comes in a dropper packaging
+ lightweight
+ faster rate of absorption into the skin
+ skin feels hydrated and plump
+ no oily residue
+ light, floral scent
+ does not break me out
Cons:
– price, quite expensive in my country
– some complained that dropper does not work in the long run, but i’m still fairly new to this, so it hasn’t happened to me yet
This oil absorbs into my skin faster than the Tarte oil. I honestly don’t know what it is…i tried the Tarte maracuja oil on my hair, my cuticles, my hands (i read several sources that it could be done this way) and even though it moisturizes, it also leaves this greasy feeling behind using 2-3 drops….like you just know that it is oil.
However with this tsubaki one, this absorbs into your skin so well that when you rub your hands together with the excess product, it doesn’t leave any greasy feeling behind nor does it feel sticky at all. It just feels very moisturized.
I use the same amount of drops for both oils.
I sleep in an AC room every night so to me i felt that it was a good test. Before that i have always used a moisturizer and i wake up having oiliness especially around my nose area and my t zone.
I switched to this oil and my skin felt very smooth, plump and hydrated. My nose area felt normal, i did not notice any oiliness at all. Most importantly, this didn’t break me out!!!!! I also noticed that the pores around my cheek area had significantly reduced. My nose area – not so much, but i was overall quite impressed because my skin basically became a better base for putting on makeup!
I use the oil mainly at night before bedtime, i personally think its best for my skin.
My current skincare routine would be: cleanse > tone > beauty oil (i replaced my regular moisturizer with this oil) > sleep! sometimes i put eye cream after that but it all depends. I’m a huge believer that less products is better, and so far all i see is that my skin got a lot better than before.
They recommended that you can also put this oil with your moisturizer or your foundation, but i have not tried that yet. However, i did add the Tarte oil with my matte foundation but it didn’t do very well, so i don’t think i’ll risk doing that with this one.
Overall, i prefer this oil to the Tarte one (i heard that its refined(?) oil). I actually will give the Tarte oil away and use this instead. I do think this is expensive, however the results actually impressed me and performed beyond my expectations. You only need a few drops, and it definitely lasts a long way.
I will definitely repurchase. Hope this helps!

This is a great lightweight oil that moisturizes well. Has a nice, light floral scent. Only 2-3 drops are needed to apply to damp skin on the face. This did cause my combination skin to break out all over. I ended up using this on my very dry neck area and it works great. I do not notice any anti-aging benefits from this oil blend.

This is my HG beauty oil. I went and purchased this after I watched a review on YouTube. This stuff is great and I can even wear it under my makeup during the day. After I wash my face I apply 2-3 drops and pat into my damp skin. I let it sit while I do my other morning rituals and then apply my makeup. This just gives my skin a glow that I haven’t found with other beauty oils and I have tried tons of them.
Definitely head to Sephora and pick yourself up some…

My skin tends to be super dry and flaky during the winter months without moisturizer, but when I apply lotion on my face it feels too heavy and actually makes it TOO oily throughout the day. It’s really weird but I’ve been using Boscia’s tsubaki oil for a year now and it’s GREAT.
3 drops on my palm patted all over my face is enough to make it feel good- not too oily, not too dry. My skin just absorbs it and loves it. It doesn’t break me out either and I can put acne treatments/makeup on after too. If you prefer, you could even mix in a few drops with the moisturizer you use!
Highly recommend if it’s in your budget. It is pricey but like I said, a little goes a long way. My skin has been feeling so much better ever since I started using this.

Read this from somewhere // “A good facial oil will have the same visual effect as dubbin on an old leather boot. Lines and wrinkles are plumped, the surface is smoother.”

Tried several facial oils (Robert Tisserand, Josie Maran and Renew Rose Hip Oil) before falling in love with Boscia’s Beauty Oil.
I never used the other oils much (I’m still left with 92%) because I don’t really like the after feel, which is heavy and oily.
I am really glad I went ahead and bought this! I use this every morning, 3-4 drops all over my face, neck and the remaining on the ends of my hair. A little goes a long way!
I warm the oil up a little with my palms and then press (not rub) it on to my entire face holding my palms to my face for a few good seconds before ‘palm stamping’ another area. I leave it to sink in further for a minute or two before applying anything else. (This replaces my day moisturizer) It absorbs quickly and feels light unlike the other facial oils that I’ve tried.
I’ve been using this for 3 weeks now, this regulated my oil secretions and I did not experience any breakouts! It leaves my face plumped up and GLOWY without the oily feel. My pores shrank, comedones cleared up and light scars from pimple popping faded!
For night, I use Dermalogica’s Overnight Repair Serum (which is a blend of oils not exactly a serum serum).
For my body, I use Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse.
What can I say, oil love my oils!

I don’t typically write reviews unless I feel very strongly about something and Boscia’s
Tsubaki Beauty Oil is something I feel very strongly about.
I bought this on a whim from Sephora without doing any prior research because, to be honest, I was $30 away from VIB and I figured I needed a moisturizer anyway. I’ve been a big fan of using oils on my face for a long time and I’ve tried a few: Argan, Olive, and Grapeseed; all of them have been alright, but nothing noteworthy.
For me, this oil has basically been a miracle oil. The day I bought it, I was dealing with some humidity/summer/sweat-related forehead mini-breakout with lots of little bumps but no actual whiteheads. Next morning, most of them were gone and what was left was reduced to the point of being barely noticeable. It’s been a week and my skin is glowing, feels balanced and soft and looks even and hydrated with no super oily parts and no dry patches. So far this oil hasn’t broken me out.
That first night, I also had a little extra on my hands so I wiped it off on my shoulder and back. The next morning when I woke up, the cystic zit I had growing on my shoulder blade was basically gone. I was absolutely floored. I’ve had a huge problem with cystic acne on my back for the last 7 or so months. I have had cycles of breakouts after breakouts at the beginning of the year that has left me with a lot of awful dark scarring. I haven’t been able to wear all my favourite summer tops and dresses at all. It’s been a week now that I’ve been using the tsubaki oil and with daily exfoliation with an italy towel, I’ve seen a 20-25% improvement in scarring and no new breakouts. This alone is worth it for me and has made me feel so much happier and confident.
tl;dr version: Unexpected miracle oil. It totally blew me away and I definitely plan on repurchasing forever. It’s incredible.

i have the mini size of this that i got in a sephora kit. overall, i found this beauty oil to be rather underwhelming. it didn’t break me out, but i also didn’t find it to do anything noticeable to my skin. i found the consistency to be a little weird… it doesn’t feel greasy after i massage it into my skin, but it also doesn’t quite sink in completely either. i didn’t find it particularly moisturizing. it did relieve some of the parched feeling on my skin but it didn’t clear up any of the dry patches when my skin was significantly dehydrated. i would finish up my mini size as a nighttime moisturizer and would use it again if it came in a set, but honestly at this point i’m kind of looking forward to using it up as to not waste it.
