I’m kicking myself for waiting like 5 years to buy this. I eyed it sometimes, however I’m typically just as well careless to contour as well as I felt like this wasn’t something I would certainly make use of.
I’ve been seeing a lot of john Maclean video clips lately that advised me of my love for Mac omega. After a week of making use of a little eyeshadow to contour I decided to pull the trigger on the smashbox bc I constantly felt those would certainly be the suitable tones * for me * for a shape scheme.
On my neutral n20ish somewhat olive toned skin this combination is impressive! The shape shade undoubtedly resembles a shape. My largest problem w contour is that the will certainly oxidize cozy with my yellow undertones, nevertheless, if they are too great, they will look unclean. Ie fenty brownish-yellow resembles dirt on my face, however then mac sculpt resolves into some odd terracotta shade. The shape in smashbox is a believable shadowy tone. The bronzer is best. It looks like it will be dark, but it isn’t at all. It’s not as well warm, I assume the touch is a bit red, as opposed to orange, which I personally like in a bronzer bc on me that’s a reasonable bronze tone. The yellow shade does not reveal too well as a highlighter on me, but it does function nicely to blend out the shape shade. I really use it quite a bit. It will certainly set my eyeshadow guide in a pinch. It’s okay as a refined nose emphasize if I contour my nose.
I’m generally anti face palettes bc there’s always a minimum of one color not getting made use of. Yet I love every one of these shades!
Please make-up gods, I hope this does not obtain dc. I like it so much. Since obtaining it I have actually located it difficult to grab various other cheek items.

The review is for Light-Medium.
My skin: fair-medium, primarily neutral, however slightly warm touch. Closest to NC25
The shape shade of this scheme is good, has a grey touch, not as well dark, not as well light, very easy to deal with.
The bronzer looks really muddy on my skin, like a wet sandy dust. Awful.
The highlighter is a matte powder that looks also white, as well ashy and also totally incorrect on me. It emphasizes skin flaws as well as out of all items look the most fine-grained and also obvious when accumulate to have some result on the skin.
All powders from the set are very difficult to the touch, not friendly for dry skin. The brush is meh … In addition to whatever, highlight works out into great lines.
Back to Sephora it goes.

This is an actually terrific contour kit. The colours are extremely all-natural looking and also usable. I’m not a big follower of the highlight colour and I discover it a bit “powdery” searching my skin and it emphasizes imperfections for me, however I love the other 2 colours. The contour colour looks really natural and not muddy. I don’t us the brush that includes it however. I find it as well reduced end. These are also very blendable. If I have time or if it’s an elegant event, I match them up with the smashbox contour sticks, which are likewise terrific. If I’m brief promptly, I just make use of the contour colour and the bronzer. The bundle is truly great as well as resilient and also high quality. It’s not also large, so it’s easy to take a trip with and also I typically use the mirror on the lid to do my entire make-up, particularly when taking a trip, Nevertheless … I don’t understand why however both of the last 2 compacts I’ve acquired, conveniently created that dreadful hard film on the top. I’ve attempted scraping the top off, I’ve tried the “tape trick” as well as it maintains taking place once again. This doesn’t occur with any one of my other cosmetics. Therefore, I would certainly not buy. It ends up being unusable as well as I wind up tossing it away.

I’m kicking myself for waiting like 5 years to buy this. I eyed it many a times, but I’m usually just too lazy to contour and I felt like this wasn’t something I would use.
I’ve been watching a lot of john Maclean videos lately who reminded me of my love for Mac omega. After a week of using a small eyeshadow to contour I decided to pull the trigger on the smashbox bc I always felt those would be the ideal shades *for me* for a contour palette.
On my neutral n20ish slightly olive toned skin this palette is amazing! The contour shade indeed looks like a contour. My biggest issue w contour is that the will oxidize warm with my yellow undertones, however, if they are too cool, they will look dirty. Ie fenty amber looks like dirt on my face, but then mac sculpt settles into some weird terracotta shade. The contour in smashbox is a believable shadowy tone. The bronzer is perfect. It looks like it will be dark, but it isn’t at all. It’s not too warm, I think the undertone is a tad red, as opposed to orange, which I personally love in a bronzer bc on me that’s a realistic bronze tone. The yellow shade doesn’t show too well as a highlighter on me, but it does work nicely to blend out the contour shade. I actually use it quite a bit. It will set my eyeshadow primer in a pinch. It’s not bad as a subtle nose highlight if I contour my nose.
I’m usually anti face palettes bc there’s always at least one shade not getting used. But I love all of these shades!
Please makeup gods, I pray this doesn’t get dc. I love it so much. Since getting it I’ve found it difficult to reach for other cheek products.

This is a really great contour kit. The colours are very natural looking and usable. I’m not a huge fan of the highlight colour and I find it a bit “powdery” looking on my skin and it accentuates imperfections for me, but I love the other two colours. The contour colour looks very natural and not muddy. I don’t us the brush that comes with it though. I find it too low end. These are also very blendable. If I have time or if it’s a dressy occasion, I pair them up with the smashbox contour sticks, which are also great. If I’m short on time, I just use the contour colour and the bronzer. The package is really nice and durable and good quality. It’s not too big, so it’s easy to travel with and I often use the mirror on the lid to do my whole makeup, especially when traveling, However… I don’t know why but both of the last two compacts I’ve bought, easily developed that dreaded hard film on top. I’ve tried scraping the top off, I’ve tried the “tape trick” and it keeps happening again. This doesn’t happen with any of my other cosmetics. For this reason, I would not repurchase. It becomes unusable and I end up throwing it away.

I like the size of this palette, it’s compact enough that it doesn’t take up too much space but the size of pans are big enough to use with most brushes. This kit comes with an angled brush that works for highlighting or contouring but I wouldn’t use it for bronzing as I prefer a large fluffy brush for this purpose. The palette comes in two shade options: light/medium (I purchased this one) and medium/dark. The contour shade has a cool undertone that is preferable for carving out cheekbones or sculpting along the sides of the nose and this is the standout choice of the 3 products in this palette. The bronzer has a bit warmer undertone (as expected) and has more of a golden hue which I like. A lot of other bronzers I’ve seen can lean orange but this one leaves a soft sun-kissed vibe on the skin. The highlight in this palette is subtle, very soft, not metallic or glittery in the least. All 3 blend easily and look very natural on my skin and can be used on the eyes as well. Contouring hooded eyes can be a challenge but this palette makes an easier job of it. A great little palette and brush set worth picking up.

Love this! The colours are perfect, really easyblended and pigmented. This is the best contour i’ve ever tried. Its a bit pricey but it lasts for a pretty long time so it’s worth it. Would really rekommend to everyone!! I have really oily skin and it stays on all day!

I really like the contour shade and LOVE LOVE the brighteninng powder, it really makes me look awake and glowy. As for the darker shade it’s perfect for contouring on my light skin. The middle shade is good for bronzing but can make me look orangey sometimes. I would definitely repurchase this again just for the 2 shades and it comes with a brush.

Smashbox has dropped the price on this contouring trio to $40 CDN which is great but as this line is sold at SDM, I got an extra 20% off (Seniors Thursdays) so the price on this was pretty hard to beat, especially since it also includes a brush. I am not big on contouring, to tell you the truth. My face is quite round, which is why I’m often mistaken for considerably younger than I actually am. On my face, contouring can often just look like I’ve got dirt smudges on the sides of my face, especially with some of the darker, more orange toned products out there. The lightest/contour colour of this kit is deliciously lacking in orange or red tones; it’s very cool toned so it looks natural on me. This means that the contour powder can actually look effective rather than “odd”. The same holds true of the “bronzer” shade – it is cool and I can lightly fluff it all over my face with a big, soft brush, to make myself look a bit less pale. The lightest shade is nice – not glittery or obvious – so I can use it as a natural highlight or as eyeshadow for a “no makeup” eye look, with either of the other 2 shades to contour my crease. I’ve also used it to set my under-eye concealer with perfectly nice results. The instruction booklet is pretty informative, and the included brush is much better quality than I expected. Great little palette and great price.

I’ve been through so many contour products, both cream and powder, and this is by far the best. The darker colors are amazing on my skin, it is so easy to blend, and the light color is great to set the under eyes. The price is good for the fact that you get 3 colors and a brush. The brush was smaller than i expected but it surprisingly works really nicely. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I live for this palette honestly. It is SO GOOD. The tones are absolutely perfect, especially the contour tone. You can use this palette for some natural definition, but it can definitely take you heavier if you want it to. All of the shades blend beautifully. The moment I knew I had to have this was when I was trying the contour shade on my cheekbones in Sephora with nothing but one of those cheap, square beauty sponges. I was able to apply and blend out the color beautifully using JUST that beauty sponge and it looked amazing. I know some people don’t like the brush, but it’s not bad. I use it to place and slightly taper my contour and then blend out with another brush. Since getting this palette, I use it every day that I’m wearing makeup. It looks so beautiful and natural and sculpted. I love love love this!!
