I really like this shampoo, but it is logistically not easy to come by (nor cheap) in the United States. It is quite gentle, and I feel the ingredients (salicylic acid and piroctone olamine) give me comfort that it is working to combat my dandruff. In reality, I use a bunch of shampoos on rotation, so I cannot vouch for whether this one in truly helping (just being honest).
Regarding the scent, I agree with another poster that it is slightly medicinal — not bad per se, but not great. The fragrance is quite light, though, so I cannot imagine someone smelling it in your hair and being turned off by it.

Sometimes my scalp feels itchy and then I reach to this little gem. After just one use – everything’s back to normal. It’s mild, effective, package is great and easy to use. I do detect a scent, but it’s a discreet, a bit medicinal.

My hair, fine, long, with sensitive scalp and SD sometimes.
This shampoo makes my hair very soft and does an okay job in keeping my Dermatitis under control. It is sulfate free and the active ingredint is Piroctone Olamine.
The only cons are that my hair becomes limp after one day and despite the sensitive claim it has a lot of nasty ingredients (a 6 in the skindeep database).
The reviewer before me said that there was no perfume, they told me also in the farmacy were I bought it, but after reading the ingredientslist there was perfume after all.
Edit March 2015: I bought this shampoo a second time and I lower the rating from 4 to 3, because I do get build-up with this shampoo and I don’t think that is very good for a dandruff shampoo. I finish the bottle and turn back to the Sebamed Dandruff shampoo.
Edit December 2018: I tried this shampoo again, because I cannot control my SD very well at the moment. I lower the rate again, because I don’t think this shampoo is very good for sensitive scalp, my scalp became more itchy than it was before I used this. I tried it about 2 weeks, every other day and it made the condition worse.

This shampoo is everything I was looking for. I have tried almost every anti-dandruff shampoo that exists until I found L’oreal elvive anti dandruff with seleniumsulfide. At first this was my holy grail anti-dandruff shampoo, it kept my scalp clean and my hair looked nice and shiny. I used it every time I washed my hair. After a while I noticed that my hair and scalp became very dry and my scalp began flaking again but this time because of dryness. I started using sulfate-free shampoos and used the L’oreal one only when my scalp became itchy again. Every time had to use it the dandruff was gone but my hair and scalp was dry. I started looking for a sulfate-free alternative and found this shampoo. It makes my scalp soft and 100% dandruff free! I use it once a week and use other shampoos in between. It contains Salicylic acid which removes the flakes from your scalp and piroctone olamine which cleans and soothes. I find that this formula works better than any other. Because it is quite expensive I wash my hair first with another shampoo and rinse and then use this shampoo so it will foam more and I don’t have to use as much. It has no smell to it but that’s because there is no perfume in it. I love it and will buy it again and again!
