I am always on the hunt for great liquid lipstick formulas and when Sugarpill released the High Tea collection, five nudes with a formula that was described as “lightweight” and “soft”, I had to try it! The collection costs $90 ($18 for each individual lipstick) and has five nude lipsticks of differing shades: Dainty, Trifle, Crumpet, Clink!, and Duchess. They are all creamsicle scented, although the scent does fade after application. The applicator is slightly angled with a triangular-shape, but now that I have become used to it I think this is the easiest applicator to use. The formula of all of the lipsticks is super soft and creamy, but not thin on application. One of the best aspects of this formula is that if you made a mistake on application you can layer more on without it crumbling up and when it dries down it does not feel drying like most liquid lipsticks do. It is fairly transfer-proof and holds up well to drinks and non-oily foods. Oily foods will cause it to disappear and feather at the corners of the mouth, but it is very easy to clean this up. It is also very easy to touch up after eating food and will not require a full removing and reapplication. On the whole the formula is very forgiving. The only possible negative I can think of is that the shade Duchess can leave staining on the lips, but it is easy to remove. I would absolutely recommend these lipsticks to others. If you are looking for a nude liquid lipstick, Sugarpill’s High Tea collection will have a shade for you!
