This is a new fav for me. I’m around anNC30 (light to medium golden/olive skin) and I almost always wear pinky nudes or nude lip colors.
I went to buy my usual MAC powder and the SA suggested I try Kittenish when I started browsing lip colors. It looks very bright in the tube- not me at all. But she swore it would look good on so I decided to try it – and love!
It makes my face look more alive and is a nice texture – not dry like a lipstick but not a gloss.
My only complaint is the lack of staying power- I reapply every 2-3 hours ideally It fades away evenly so it doesn’t look patchy or odd but it’s irritating to have to keep touching it up.
I will still rebuy though!

I received this product as my Mac Select anniversary gift included with my online order. One thing that struck me as weird was that it had a round sticker with a red X stuck on the bottom of the pencil. It’s batch code is AC4 indicating that it was produced December 2014 making this pencil a few months shy of 2 years old! But NBD if it hasn’t been opened and the formula hasn’t gone off, right?
I believe the formula has gone off because the finish is extremely sticky — my hair gets stuck in it! It also seems to dry my lips out instead of moisturizing them.
I almost didn’t order this colour as I already own Syrup in the traditional Mac lipstick formula and Kittenish looked pretty similar. However, swatched next to each other, they are quite different. Kittenish is brighter, more blue-toned, and milkier. Syrup looks to almost have a little bit of a brownish/reddish terracotta tone in comparison.

In my last visit to the MAC counter, I B2M’ed for Captive lipstick. The SA suggested I try putting a bit of Kittenish on top for a little different look. Yes, please! I liked it well enough to shell out the $22US for it. And now have another in Pleasant (separate review).
What is it? A twist-up lip crayon that feels smooth and a little slick (but not icky sticky). This one is a soft pink with a lavender undertone. It’s sheer and has a soft shine. Not drying (yay!)
What does it do? Adds a soft color on bare lips, and feels fabulous on. Over a matte lipstick that is a little darker, it mutes the color a bit and adds shine. It definitely helps ease some of the dry matte-mouth feeling you get after a couple of hours with some lipsticks. It also helps your color last a little longer.
It’s not super long-lasting but I easily get maybe three hours’ wear out of it (i always drink something, all day long). It does transfer but is easy to even out with a smoosh. Very easy to reapply without a mirror. Does not travel into fine lines (but I always use MAC Prep & Prime Lip with everything). It’s a great, easy, toss-in-your-purse summer lip.
Would I buy it again? Probably. I am kind of a lipstick junkie, though, so by the time I run out, I could easily be chasing the next best thing. So far, I’ve had it for about a month, using maybe 3 times a week and still have plenty.
I am mid-50s, blue eyes, dryish skin, blonde (today), and fair-medium with cool undertones (NW 18). I don’t know that this color would work for everyone. It is definitely pink, but not bright. All in all, though, I do recommend.

I got this on a rec’d on a FB MU group. It really is lovely! It is a medium pink gloss & looks gr8 w nudetrals eyes as a conservative look. It isn’t drying & lasts a good 2-3 hours without eating/drinking b4 having to have to reapply. This is an awesome color for those who wear glasses as it’s not too distracting but it provides a polished look very sophisticated & pretty. Very fresh! I love this, 1 of my new muses.

This is a very pretty color for me. I normally stick to pinky-nudes for the lips, but a friend gave this to me and I really like it. Kittenish is a light-medium pink and it seems to be a little cool. I don’t like to wear bold colors on my lips — and this is perfect when I just apply one swipe. It is pretty and feminine. But I can’t build it up or it gets too bright for me. The only problem with this formula is that because I just use one swipe — it doesn’t last for long. I like to top it with a gloss and it mutes some color. I know this is LE, but I would purchase this again just because it’s such a pretty color.

I love the new collection of Patentpolish Lip Pencils ($20 each). However, I am dissapointed that it comes with 12 shades only. My favorite is Kittenish that is mauve pink/purple. I absolutely love the application (very easy and smooth) and it’s long lasting, mositurizing and glossy. I have tried many regular MAC lipsticks and they feel really dry, they make my lips irritated and look frosty. That is why I don’t own any MAC lipstick.. until I tried this Lip Pencil!
This Lip Pencil is amazing – totally apposite from regular lipsticks. It seems to be very moisturizing and smooth. Love it!
The only minus is that they are NOT LONG LASTING.
UPDATE: I returned it. The color is beautiful, love it! But it lasts for about 10-15 min only! I had to re-apply it all the time, so annoying.
