   I remember giving my bottle of New West for her away during a frantic house move in 2003 as I had stopped wearing perfume. Just found a little phial of it tucked away and it has renewed my love of this fragrance, only they don’t make it anymore! Boy am I kicking myself now!e
   Have discovered a company called the PERFUME PARLOUR who make substitute fragrances and theirs is called FRESH HORIZON for women 1091. It was out of stock so I have gone on the wait list. Trouble is, not enough people know about it and they will only make a batch if there’s enough demand. Please, please go to the site and register your wish for this product, lest we never smell this lovely stuff again!

   Somebody wrote that “you can’t go home again”….well, apparently that’s true with perfume. Although the heady, giddy memories are immediately brought back upon first fragrant whiff of watermelon, cucumber and 1995 in general–like trying to move back in with your parents..some things are better left as just a memory. Even though my husband bought it for me to revisit my carefree younger years–he gagged when I squirted it back on. My beloved New West, now joins the archives of never-to-be-purchased-again fragrances that are forever shelved: Shalimar, Oleg Cassini, Sunflowers and Lauren.

   I have been wearing this perfume since around 1992. Since it was discontinued a few years ago I’ve been buying on line.I still love the perufme and even still get complimented, Even though my son said “You’ve been wearing the same “smell” for about 40 years”He’s 28! I’ve looked for a different perfume similar to new west but so far nothing comes close, and I know that at some point I’m going to have to change…That’s not going to be a good day.

   This was the first “proper” bottle of perfume I ever purchased (it was the Sensual Skinscent For Her rather than the straight perfume). It was September 1994 and I had just received my first pay-cheque and I went straight out and bought a bottle after smelling the scent on a friend at a party.

   I still have the remains of the bottle, and the smell is so very evocative of that period in my early 20s. Melon and cucumber dominate along with slightly headachy ozone/aquatic notes. It’s fruity, but not THAT fruity, and the rose, plum and carnation are definitely evident after the first melon blast.

   What is particularly nice is the slightly sweet, musky-ambery drydown, it’s really pretty.

   This is absolutely not something I would even consider trying now, I don’t get on well with aquatic/ozone scents, they often give me headaches; but New West for Her whilst being aquatic doesn’t quite push me over the edge into headache territory.

   I bought this fragrance after seeing a review on YouTube. I heard it smells a lot like watermelon and since I love the scent, I thought I would love the perfume. I don’t hate it, but I wish I had smelled it before I purchased it online. If I had, I wouldn’t have bought it.

   This is a fragrance that I may grow to like and since it’s such a big bottle, I’m certainly going to wear it, even if it’s only at bedtime.

   UPDATE: This perfume has really grown on me and I do smell the watermelon type scent. It stays with me all day. It has become a “will repurchase” for me. I have about 40 bottles of perfume and I grab for this one 70% of the time.

   I adore this perfume. I ordered it online just on a whem because I’d heard so many good things about it and I’m glad I did. This is really clean and fruity all at the same time. When I wear this I smell like watermelon and light musk and it works beautifully. This is perfect in the summer when you don’t want a heavy cloying perfume and because it’s a skinscent you can spray it all over. The only reason why I said I wouldn’t repurchase is because it’s a huge bottle and I already own so many perfumesthat I may never finish this bottle.

   This was my signature scent in junior high back in the ’90’s! The name just popped in my head, and when I Googled it, I was amazed that it still exists. So nice to see the raves it gets here, because this was truly my favorite as a kid. Charlie Express in 7th grade, too!

   This is, without a doubt, my all time favorite fragrance. I just bought a back up bottle from Ulta (I was very surprised they still carried it). Nothing compares to the amount of compliments I’ve gotton wearing this–from men and women. It does remind me of my twenties, and all those good times—I guess that helps! The staying power is wonderful, and it is not too overbearing. It is a very unique fragrance, I will miss it when it is really gone!

   I finally purchased this glorious scent from E-bay after deciding whether or not I should for almost a year! I didn’t really want to spend the 65 dollars on a bottle of fragrance that I wasn’t sure would smell the same as I remembered it did10 years ago. Well I was thrilled that the formula is the same aquatic, watermelon, fresh scent from the 90’s. I spritzed some on tonite after my shower and was brought back to the fresh clean scent that always made me think of strong, independent women! I’m sure it will take me awhile to get through this 3.4 fl oz. of New West but I will repurchase when finished. I can’t imagine not having this in my perfume collection!

    I finally got this off an Ebay seller in the US, It is still as wonderful as ever!.
    So happy to have it again, so fresh clean and watermelon like!.
    It was well worth the money and wait of 10+ years to get my hands on my second bottle.
