I bought this in “Unleashed” – a shimmery cool purple. Not sure why, but by the pressed look of the product in the store sample, I thought it was a cream formula, and was hoping to use it as more of an eyeliner. For this use, it is a total failure. Takes forever to build up, lots of fallout, and even with primer, it fades quickly. I tried using a wet brush, I tried using my pinky fingertip, nothing worked. Just a mess. It’s much too dark and I am much too old to wear it all over the lid, and I still feel it would be too much work to get to look right…so probably this will get passed on to one of my nieces.

I love a good MARTINI and this eyeshadow, in the colour “Martini”, is even lovelier than the drink! All these shadows are certainly “chrome” – they all have a very, very reflective finish. “Martini” is a bronzed olive shade that looks deep and dark in the little jar but the metallic finish keeps it from looking dark and heavy on my eyes. I apply this with my fingers or with a small synthetic brush (fingers really do work best but to get to the inner part of my lid, I need a brush for precision) onto my mobile lid and then use something like UD Naked or MAC Wedge in the crease for a very easy but very pretty look. I can also “tone down” the sheen if I want to by using something like Nars Kalahari on top, to the benefit of both products. Excellent pigmentation, no fallout and you get what seems to be a fair amount of product for the price. I may pick up 2 more of these – Park Avenue Princess and Top Yacht, which are 2 other glimmery “neutrals” in this line.

Holy gorgeous… I have always been a sucker for eyeshadows and chromatic, shinmery pigments and this baby is the perfect mixture of kapow eye color without the cheap chunky effects of gawdy fallout prone glitter shadows. Not to mention the consistency is as smooth as butter! One swipe is enough to capture the color that you see in the pot unlike some other high end shadows that only look pretty in the pan but once you start applying realize that its gonna take quite a bit of layering to get what you see in the pan. This is definitely a what you see is what you get kind of product and although it is pricey, it will not disappoint. It was love at first swatch for me so of course I wanted all of them but decided to go with “sundrenched”for a more neautral color that can be worn more often. The best way i can describe It is a toned down version of the gold and the copper shades it is more of a in between shade of those two and it is has the most gorgeous metallic sheen that can still be worn on a daily basis and played up for a night out as well with a darker crease. I applied it on top of my 24 hr smashbox eyeshadow primer with my fingertips by lightly tapping it on from lashline to crease and used a small blending brush in a windshield wiper motion in the outer crease area to blend it altogether and diffuse any harsh lines and It lasted me all day until i washed it off. It was a pretty hot and humid day and still it stayed on throughout the day without fading. Now on to the packaging, if you’re into the aesthetic appeal of a product and not just the performance of it (for people like me who like it to look cute on their vanity as well^_-) I think that you will find the look of the packaging appealing as well. Because it is a little glass jar it is a bit heavy but it has a cute and fancy look with a golden colored top that screws off which I find to be convenient for this type of product as i have known some to have an annoying and flimsy flip top that tend to break and cause the product to crumble or fall apart much easier. So over all, I believe that aside from the product performance they also did a great job with the packaging as well as it is both aesthetically appealing and sturdy. Another plus is that it is also a little wider than most eyeshadow pots that I’ve seen which is great for those who prefer application with a brush it will give you enough room to tap the entire brush in the pot.
Bottom line, If you are looking for a metallic/chrome eyeshadow that will last you through the day and deliver great pigmentation and quality results in an easy and smooth application, or are looking for a pop of bright color without the hassle of chunky glitters and fallout I would highly recommend that you give these paint pots a try! They are definitely worth the splurge! I will definitely be on the lookout for tarte sales to scoop up the rest of the shades! I’m in love

It takes a lot for a product to really amaze and excite me. The Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow Pot has me so impressed that I’m definitely buying all three colors. The color I initially picked up is called Pot of Gold and that is the best description. What I love is that it is a true chrome finish and secondly I love that it applies so easily, and without fallout, with a stiff eyeshadow brush.
The finished product is definitely a beautiful bold gold color. This lasts all day no problem. It washes off pretty easily with a cleansing oil or balm. This is one of the first products in a while to truly leave me excited and wanting to use this every day now since I’ve purchased it. I definitely recommend this product!
