   I used this as part of the two step double cleanse. It’s a clear, somewhat oily feeling gel. It works well enough, though I find it’s a little more work as far as rubbing goes for taking off eye makeup. It has no fragrance, which is good, but there are other cleansing balms that melt eye makeup away much easier….plus, it’s a little pricey for what it is. It took a little extra cleanser to remove the film it leaves, which I don’t like – the whole point of double cleansing is that balms do most of the work. If I have to do two or three rounds with the second step cleanser, it defeats the whole purpose and I’m stripping my skin more than I like. Still, it’s not a bad product, and I didn’t have any issues with irritation. The main reason I won’t repurchase is due to the price.

   This rinsable cleansing balm, not to be confused with her previous balm, works much like a cleansing oil in that when you rinse off the product, the water and product form an easily-rinsed emulsion, which takes off all of your makeup, even her long-wearing Eye Definers and gel eyeliner. The bottle contains 120 mL/4.0 fluid oz and costs $48.00. It is unscented, and the oils it consists of include Prunus (cherry, prune) and apricot oils, and is mild enough to use over the eye area. And there’s no animal testing or ingredients.

   It works fantastically at removing makeup, including waterproof and long-wear varieties. I cover my entire face with a thin layer, including eyes and lips, massage into my face (my favorite part), and rinse repeatedly with warm water. In order to remove all makeup, a single splash will not do, you must rinse repeatedly and thoroughly, but I enjoy that part of the process, too. (How do I know if I’ve rinsed thoroughly? I pat my face dry with a white towel.) While I primarily use this balm to remove makeup, it makes a great treatment mask, too, leaving your skin soft and hydrated without a greasy residue. I’ll also use it as a mini-spa experience, by massaging it into my face and covering it with a warm, damp towel, or I’ll use it in my gym’s steam room. Love it!

   Try this balm as an alternative to your cleansing oil and you’ll be converted!
