Of the Insta-Dri polishes, I’ve tried three: Petal To The Metal (metallic), Thyme Is Money (cream), and Gold Rush (matte metallic). My favorite of those three is easily Petal To The Metal, which is a beautiful pinky rose gold with fine metallic shimmer dispersed evenly throughout. It was also the polish that lasted the longest on my nails. Thyme Is Money is a sage green with no shimmer and a standard glossy finish, and Gold Rush is a yellow gold with fine metallic shimmer dispersed evenly throughout that dries to a very matte finish. Gold Rush was the polish that chipped the most quickly on my nails.
As someone with pretty wide nails, I really appreciate Sally Hansen’s brushes. They are wide and fan out across my whole nail, which I imagine would be a drawback for someone with smaller nails. They pick up a bit too much product, although the shape of the brush minimizes the excess, compared to other polish brands whose brushes I’ve had issues with (looking at you, Essie). All three polishes apply smoothly and with minimal issues. It’s easy to apply thin, even layers of polish. The dry time is amazing. I allow my nails 15-20 minutes to dry between each coat with this product, just to be absolutely certain that everything is dry, and this time works wonderfully. You could probably get away with less dry time, but polishes tend to take ages to dry on me, so I like to play it safe. I normally do three coats of Insta-Dri polishes and call it a day. I could get away with two, but I like the extra full opacity, so I prefer three.
My main issue with these polishes is that they are not great for wear time, and I had to knock a lippy off for that. They don’t begin to chip off within hours or anything like that. With a clear base coat but no top coat (which you should wear anyway, I’m aware), it begins chipping off within two days. With a standard top coat and base coat situation, it goes to around four days. OPI polishes definitely surpass that, and Essie’s are around the same as Insta-Dri, in my experience.
I will more than likely buy more of these. There’s a nice variety of different colors and finishes of these, and the dry time is super quick, making it easy to slap these on and go. Petal To The Metal in particular has become a staple in my nail polishes. However, in my experience, this isn’t a nail polish you can really stretch out the wear time of, so it’s more about looking pretty only for a few days and then reapplying or trying another polish. Of course applying a nice amount of top coat does help somewhat to alleviate the issue, but even with that, the wear time is just not impressive. If they reformulated it to make it less prone to chipping and wearing off, then it’d be five stars (or lippies) all around!

I have quite a few Rimmel 60sec and Maybelline Color show polishes and thought I’d give this quick drying one a try as well. I bought the shade “Pink Blink” and I have to say, I wasn’t impressed. I specifically wanted a pale pink but this one seems a bit dull on the nail. I removed it after a couple of days and my nail beds were stained orange/red – I’ve never had my nail beds so stained, even after red, black, blue etc have been on them for over a week, so maybe my body chemistry doesn’t agree with this polish. I also didn’t think it performed as well as other brands. I’ll stick with the Rimmel and Maybelline, they’re cheaper anyway. Also, the big square ended brush is awful and makes the job harder than it needs to be.

All that I like about the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri line is the array of colors. Otherwise, this formula is a no-go.
First, the brush. It’s so oversized that I find it impossible to polish my nails without smearing polish all over my cuticles and skin.
Second, the formula: ugh. This may sound like a plus, but it dries TOO fast – it starts drying before you have even coverage on the nail! And like the Insta-Dri top coat, you’re lucky make it midway through the bottle before it gets thick and unusable, plus shrinkage.

I bought petal pusher because the colour was so pretty. I applied one coat and then another to my left hand about 30 minutes ago. It is streaky, globby and way too thick. The brush is awful. I do not have square cuticles; therefore, I do not want a square tipped brush. Seriously, don’t buy this product. This stuff is awful. Oh, and when does the insta-dri take effect. No insta-dri for me

This is my go-to “quick fix” polish. I have “In Nude-tral” for when I just want a clean look and don’t want to risk messing with color. I know some have an issue with the (somewhat thick) consistency- but I think it serves the purpose of giving full coverage in one coat. It really does dry very quickly and the brush is fantastic.

Bought one recently in a coral pink shade. I LOVE the color for summer. I chose this brand over others with exactly the same pink shade because of the nice flat, wide brush. Very easy to use, requires only 1 stroke per nail if you have small hands like me. Brush is fantastic! However… the brush is about the only good thing this polish has going for it.
It goes on strangely goopy, even on the very first use. Much like an old polish that you know you SHOULD toss, but still fight to get every last drop out of because you love the shade. It gets tacky/lumpy on the brush if you take too long getting the desired amount ready to brush on for a clean stroke… so you have to apply it pretty quickly. And I hate putting on polish when theres too much on the brush.
It “dries” pretty quick once on, but I came to realize that despite feeling dry to the touch, it still hasn’t cured enough to use a top coat anytime soon. If you top coat once it feels dry, you get all kinds of tiny air bubbles as if you had sprinkled really fine sand on your nails before you painted them.
It reminds me of those cheap tiny ones that they put in those “makeup kits” that are made for 5 year olds. I usually dont mind the sally hansen formulas, but this one was a bit of a disappointment.
Might be okay for doing my toenails sometime down the road, since I often don’t spend as much time making them look as perfect. But I definitely wouldn’t miss it if someone borrowed it and I never saw it again.

I tried this in peachy breeze. The color is a very vibrant peachy pink. I really liked the color on and thought it was perfect for the summertime. But I really didn’t like the formula. It was super thick and didn’t apply nicely. It did seem to dry quickly and I reallly really love the flat style brush!! I like but didn’t love…

This stuff works great! I am not very adept at painting my own nails and even when I get them right, I inevitably wind up bumping or smudging them before they are completely dry. I’ve tried everything from high end to low end polishes because I optimistically keep thinking that I’ll get it right one of these days. I got super excited by the no light gel polishes, but they stayed tacky for so long that I wound up with smudgy nails. Then I impulse bought a bottle of this stuff and it really has a nice wide brush to go on smoothly and dries fast enough that I don’t mess them up. Two coats and they look gel nails! Also, I’ve had the same bottle for awhile and it hasn’t dried up as quickly as some of the other brands. If you experience the same problems I do when trying to do your own nails, you should definitely try this product. It takes a lot for me to write a review so you know that I’m motivated to share the information!

I have this nail polish in the shade 370 Show Steel-er. It’s a true grey shade.. the color of cement. I can’t remember how much this cost but do know for sure that it was under five dollars. I’ve been wearing grey nails since high school (for around ten years) and have tried tons of different grey nail polishes. One of my favorite things about this nail polish is the packaging. Outside, it looks sleek. Inside, the brush is AWESOME. It’s wide and a total breeze to use.
The formula on this leaves something to be desired. It is pretty thick and can cause bubbles on your nails if you’re not careful. But this is something that can be worked around. The color makes it worth it to me, and the fact that it actually does dry relatively quickly.
The only thing preventing me from repurchasing this nail polish is the fact that Revlon tests on animals.
