This mascara is +10USD here but I bought in a sale for half the price so I don’t feel bad for wasting a lot of money.I mostly bought for it’s primer side as I really wanted to try a black primer eventhough I’m not really into lash primers and don’t have any problems with the white ones
It’s primer side is slightly dry and seems to have very little product.it acts exactly like an old, almost dried out, average mascara.the other side is more on the wet side, sticks my lashes together and clumps a bit but what makes me hate it is that no matter how much I try to curl my lashes before application, it droops my lashes and straightens them.has decent lengthening but my lashes length doesn’t really show when their downside
Cons don’t end here as it’s also flakey and smudges a bit(mine is not the waterproof version but there are very very few mascaras that smudge on me!)and I don’t like it’s looong brushes
I haven’t tried it’s primer with other mascara and to be honest I just gave it a few chances before writting this review.I will edit if anything changes and I start to like it

The primer is awesome! The mascara is just OK.
I have not tried the primer under a different mascara but after reading other reviews I might give it a whirl.
The black primer really lengthens the lashes A LOT and curls them a bit without making them at all clumpy. They’re nicely separated and very natural looking. You could probably just wear the primer by itself for a more natural look.
The mascara is a bit clumpy and does not layer well. One coat is not dramatic enough for my liking but adding another looks kind of crappy. But holy smokes it makes my lashes look SO MUCH longer.
Will probably repurchase just for the primer. Still looking for the perfect mascara. 🙂

I’ve always been a Maybelline mascara girl, but I remember how much I loved the tubing mascara from L’oreal that had a white primer.
I used to hate how the finished product ended up looking greyish, so I asked a rep to give me alternatives. She recommended this one.
Boy, how I wish I had just stuck to my original plans…. I just bought this mascara yesterday, have only opened it now and used it, and I HATE IT.
Why is the brush so thick and big? Why is it so long? Why does it smudge even though I’m an expert at applying make up?
Why does the primer not do anything at all? I had to work really really hard to get a decent amount of coverage and it’s not really build-able so I got very frustrated very easily.
It was also not the cheapest mascara so i’m quite irritated that i’ve just wasted so much money on this but I’ll probably give it away. I can’t spend 10 mins of my life each morning trying to get good coating on my lashes.
I had faaar better results after applying one coat of a Yardley mascara than this.
NEVER buying again. There are much better, cheaper, hassle-free products out there. But, had I not bought it I would still be wishing I had tried it out. So in a way I’m glad I satisfied my curiosity.
Later edit: so i’ve had it on for a couple of hours and it’s not thaaaaat bad. I must say, in retrospect, it does make my lashes look much longer, but the 2 step thing is still unnecessary in my opinion considering I can get the same effect using an all in one mascara. I might not give it away after all.

I have very oily eyelids and this mascara smudge very fast. I like brushes and make my eyelashes pop, but smudge very fast.

too much trouble–two wands, no significant impact, brushes too long

I purchased this on impulse; I haven’t used L’Oreal products since the mid-eighties. My lashes are thick but short again as I stopped using Careprost while taking care of my mom. Okay now….here is my review: I don’t get it. I don’t like it. In fact, I hate it. Two different products, twice the time and effort yet I get much better results from Almay’s One-Coat Mascara (which doesn’t smudge like this one does!). As I’ve come to realize, all of L’Oreal’s mascaras are terrifically dry. I loathe dry; I want a wet mascara that allows me to work with it. This primer goes on smoothly but applying the mascara is horrible – I have to WORK to get the dry brush through the primed-lashes. The mediocre results are not worth the price and effort required. No….I’ll never buy another L’Oreal mascara again.

Girl this mascara really does add hella length & volume. Not sure if the primer really does anything but man, when I applied it on I saw the T R A N S F O R M A T I O N! Curled my lashes then watched it go from mid-length Asian lashes to eye-popping long! Gave it a 4 though cus I haven’t found the HG mascara that won’t smudge (this was very slight) underneath my eyes throughout the day.
Edit 4/27/18: nevermind, I’m returning this because it smudges…

This mascara is on the drier side, which makes it hard to build and layer. I had high hopes for this mascara. I have had it on for about 4 1/2 hours and looked at myself in the mirror. I had a piece of mascara under my left eye and another one under my right eye. I rubbed the one under my right eye and it smeared. I will keep using, but this really isn’t an amazing mascara. I can handle the dryness, but don’t like the fallout.

This stuff is amazing, especially the primer end…and you get SO MUCH mascara for your money. Most drugstore brands put a minuscule amount of product in their tubes so it runs out in a matter of weeks. This has lasted me almost 2 months!! I put a drop of saline in each end so that i could get all the good out of it. I use the non-waterproof kind but it is still very water resistant, i sweat a lot especially on my face and i find that my sweat doesn’t effect the mascara at all. I’ve tried probably close to 100 mascaras both high end and drugstore but this one beats the pants off all of them. One coat from each end and that’s all you need, NO MORE LAYERING SEVERAL LAYERS OF MASCARA JUST TO ACHIEVE LENGTH AND VOLUME!

OMG – I am so very deeply in love with this – it is the only mascara I will buy from now until the end of time. I am finally over the heartbreak of no longer being able to afford Diorshow – this is WAY better (and obviously much less expensive).
My eyelashes are short and straight, they do not hold a curl for more than five minutes, don’t have much volume…they just pretty much do whatever they want, regardless of how many coats I use, whether or not I use lash primer…up until now Diorshow (waterproof) was the only one that gave me the dramatic look that I covet.
I have been searching for YEARS….seriously years….the hunt began in eighth grade and I just turned 32. The search is over – this is beyond amazing. The primer is great – I love that it’s black instead of white – better coverage and it’s great on it’s own if you don’t feel like going all out. The actual mascara though – so awesome. I put it on right after the primer and did 2 coats, I’m still in shock. It holds the curl, adds so much volume, and the length is crazy (lashes almost touching my brows). I use the waterproof version because my eyes are very sensitive and always watery for one reason or another. It’s fantastic- no flaking, no clumping, easy to remove….no complaints to be had.
If you’re going for intense lashes definitely try this. I don’t spend a lot of time writing reviews and I am extremely sleep deprived right now – but I felt compelled to post one for this because (as lame as this sounds) it absolutely brought serious joy into my life lol, and put an end to my 19 year quest.
