Disappointing product. The colors are a bit off. For dark skin it doesn’t really wok as a contour. the colors leave a greyish/ dead tone. the consistency is a bit stiff but that’s understandable. The packaging is basic but practical. For the price I suppose you get what you pay for.

I had to finally get my hands on this at Kroger! I had ev other elf 4 pan except the Creme blushes so i wanted to try their cream stuff. My normal look is pretty made up (no wild sparkly highlight nor severe contour but this is just perf just wish they had made 2 hi lite shades bcoz I know imma use up that yellow quick! My style icon is Kate Middleton so don’t think this is too extreme as I like a made up (not as in RuPaul) look but every day glam I don’t do dramatic makeup normally. I kept looking at the label to see if this was one-size-fits-all color……it was confusing. This is def 1 of my fave elf products for a pretty princess perf face! And elf is cruelty free, pretty easy to get & reasonably priced. Elf 4 the win!! #winning

First of all, the texture of the formula isn’t very nice. It’s quite greasy, but it does blend okay. It has a tendency to almost blend away, but I guess I prefer that to not being able to blend it out at all. This palette really needs to be available in different shades, though. I’m fair with cool undertones, and out of four shades, I can only get away with using one. The highlighter looks crazy yellow on me, and it doesn’t look very nice on top of foundation, either, due to the greasiness I mentioned before. The top right one is slightly warm to contour with, but it works in a pinch. Bottom left one is far too orange even to bronze with, and bottom right one is several shades too dark. I don’t know if they maybe thought they’d cover three different skin tones in the same palette, or if they think the same person will get use out of all three? It’s just a mess. It would make so much more sense as a duo with one highlight and one bronzer shade, and have it available in three or four different shades! Kind of like their blush and bronzer duo.
Nowadays when I want to do cream contour I use Jordana’s Sculpt n Go Contour stick in Light instead. A much better formula and with three different shades to choose from, out of which light suits my skin perfectly. You might only get one shade as opposed to a palette, but considering I could only use one shade out of four here there’s no real difference. That one is $4.99, and this palette is $6.

For a cream contour palette, I feel that besides the yellow shade, the rest are very warm toned, so much so till they can easily start to look muddy on your face. It is not be best contour palette, neither is it the worst. It is worth trying, if you are interested in seeing how it may work for you. However, just like with any cream products, it definitely must be set with powder, or else it will start to look greasy on ones face and start to crease or cake up, wherever you may happen to apply it. Is it truly worth $6? Not really. Which is why, if you’re going to try it, I’d definitely recommend getting it during one of E.L.F’s sales.

I picked this up during a promotion at CVS. There is only one shade/palette, which I didn’t realize until I actually looked it up later on the website. In the store I was trying to find a shade name on the box.
The top right and bottom left colors I thought I could use as concealer but they look extremely gray on my deep skin tone, “casket ready” as they say! The highlight is fine and I sometimes mix it with my NYX Dark Circle Concealer for my under eyes.
The deepest contour can work for me but honestly I think the only reason it is visible is because I have a warm/golden undertone so there is contrast. I have to build it up for it to be visible then I set and blend with the contour powder from my Sleek kit. For my nose and cheeks I can get a nice subtle contour that will not take away from the rest of my makeup look.
I wouldn’t recommend for other women of color just because the tones do not have enough depth. I will use up the highlight and deepest shade, the other two are useless. I wouldn’t purchase again.

Hated!! The brown was extremely dark and I’m olive toned. The other colors were nice though. Returned it for the dual ended contour stick.

I rather like this palette for more everyday contouring looks. I don’t wear foundation daily; I usually stick to my Andalou BB cream, and then I’ll conceal, set with powder, hit it with some bronzer, and call it a day. I wasn’t really using any contour because I didn’t like how powdery and “done up” I looked. That look is fine when I’m shooting video or photos, but not for day to day wear.
I originally had the E.L.F. powder contour palette and I love that for more full-face looks, but wanted something more natural and easier to work with. So I decided to grab their cream contour palette and I’m quite glad I did!
I don’t use the whole palette for every day looks; I only dip into the lightest contour shade and lightly sculpt out my cheekbones, and then I apply a little to my forehead. I do this after I’ve applied my BB cream and concealer. I use my Real Techniques contour brush to apply, and then blend it in with my dampened RT complexion sponge, which I used to blend my BB cream and concealer. The result is very natural, but gives a little more shape to my face. I then set everything with my Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot powder (HG!), go in with a bit of Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer, a little of the E.L.F. Illuminating palette on the tops of my cheekbones, and I’m good to go!
The texture of this contour is a bit slippery at first, but it really sets and dries down to a powdery finish, so it’s great for oily-skinned folks like myself.
The packaging is typical of E.L.F.’s face quads, in that it’s sturdy, attractive, and each pan can pop out and be interchanged with other items in their similar ranges. I may grab the cream blush palette and create a bit of a custom deal for travel.
I’m excited to use the rest of this palette for more extreme looks, as I feel it blends out easily and will work well with a powder contour to finish. At $6, it’s quite the bargain, and the shade range in the palette is broad enough to suit a variety of complexions.
