   The best mascara that i’ve tried. I gave up lash extension for it. It was a month break from lash extension and i received a sample of this mascara. After that…i only use this.

   this is my go to mascara. I use this with a base of Diorshow maximizer 3D eyelash primer to give it more drama.
   the Chanel mascara never clumps, even if you layer on several coats. it stays put all day too. you won’t get super dramatic lashes as those types of mascaras tend to clump. However it is my favorite essential. i will apply this waterproof mascara before applying a layer of dramatic mascara (e.g. Stila Huge or Too Faced Better than Sex).

   Sorry to break the good reviews. Hated it. It’s really thick (I thought Lancome Monsieur Big was thick, nope this one takes the cake), clumpy and dry. The short bristles deposit so much product on the lashes, it immediately clumped on the first coat. I wiped it down with a tissue the second time, nope same problem. It’s impossible to comb it out because of the brush. It doesn’t hold a curl at all. Looking at the ingredients, it contains water as the first ingredient, and I knew straight away it won’t hold a curl. Hate to say this, but this is the worst mascara I have ever tried and I have tried a lot from drugstore to high end. Go buy Covergirl Lashblast waterproof if you want similar looking brush but with better results. My HG mascara is Lancome grandiose waterproof mascara and I’m sticking to that.

   I have owned (not counting samples) 2 other tubes of Chanel mascara (le volume non WP & inimitable WP) & I must say this is the best mascara out of the 3. Inimitable was a lot dryer. And of course the other one wasn’t WP. This is like they took the waterproofedness factor & combined it with the fluttery lash look, curling, separating, length & made it inky black. The best mascara I have tried! It keeps the curl, doesn’t run, but u can remove it pretty readily easily w miceller water or Magic Makeup Eraser cloths. It is an amazing mascara. It isn’t cheap it’s $32 from Macy’s dot com (USA), but I will keep rebuying it. Sleek patent shiny black tube packaging in a round cylindrical tube embossed w lettering. #winning !!

   I don’t own many high end mascaras, the Chanel Le Volume is a big exception to my regular rule. The Mascara does a good job: It lengthens a bit, gives volume, doesn’t clump and stays put the whole day, so I can truly say it unites almost everything I expect in a good mascara. The only downside is the hefty price tag. I’m not sure that I will buy it on a regular basis.

   I have stick straight lashes that need a good waterproof mascara, as that’s the only thing that I’ve found keeps a curl ( exception: NARS larger than life volume; non WP & holds curl but smudges like crazzzy). And this mascara droops my curl within seconds and smudges. I also got water in my face and even though it didn’t run it flaked w the water. Inimitable WP holds curl but doesn’t do much else sadly. Le volume seems to add length but not much volume for me. I was hoping this would add good thickness and hold a curl but nope. My search for a mascara that holds curl and doesn’t irritate the sh!t or smudge continues…

   The non waterproof version was very good, but I prefer waterproof mascaras, because it holds the curl better. So When the waterproof version came out I was pretty excited to try it out.

   The packaging looks nice and it makes sure there’s not too much product on the brush. I tried it yesterday for the first time and was quite disappointed. I noticed that the colour was a greyish black and I remember the non waterproof one was a true black. When I apply it on my lashes there wasn’t much volume. It looked pretty without clumps, but it looked very natural. Nothing wrong with that, but I expected volume (hellooo where’s Le Volume).

   I have kinda straight Asian lashes, they’re not too short and not too long either. I do curl them before applying mascara. Shortly after applying mascara I noticed my lashes were weighing down. What a disappointment. I curled my lashes carefully after (I normally don’t do this, because I know it’s not good for the lashes, but in this case it was kinda necessary). A few hours later my lashes weighed down again, which caused some smudging under my eye.

   I expected a lot from this mascara, because I was raving about the non waterproof one, but wishing it was waterproof as well. There’s a sidenote, but I don’t know if it affected the formula. I bought this mascara a few months ago with discount, but the mascara I was still using, wasn’t finished yet. Other than that, Le Volume was never opened.

   I wish it worked for me, but unfortunately it didn’t. I will not buy this mascara again.

   I have used Le Volume NON Waterproof Chanel mascara for years and I love it. I did miss that it wasn’t waterproof so when the waterproof one came out I jumped on it. The waterproof mascara is thick, almost as if it is old and dried out. It takes 4 coats to match the 2 coats of the Le Volume NON waterproof Chanel mascara as it doesn’t stick to the lashes as well. I will go back to the Le Volume NON waterproof Chanel mascara, probably before I use this one up.

    I love this mascara. I don’t mind one that sets fast because I don’t like taking a ton of time on my makeup. I can say that this mascara sat like a champ as I bawled my way through the ER the other night. I mean not one change. I’ve never seen that with any other mascara, waterproof or otherwise.
    Low maintenance and smudge proof- works for me!
