Favourite winter lipgloss. This pic of it as the time I’m reviewing it doesn’t look at all like Love child. It’s a mauve, berry shade, in my opinion like Twig in a lipgloss formula with a bit of gold glitter. Perfect on it’s own or over Lipstick such as Twig, or over lipliner such as Soar. I use it in all this ways and absolutely love it.

This is a perf plummy color for the holidays! I love the gold tinge. I agree “plum not purple” w a reviewer below. It’s quite intimidating in the tube but paler on the lips. I got the travel size which runs $10 & is a gr8 idea for them to go do coz not ev1 wants to spend $17 on a lipgloss they don’t know how they will like it & then if u do like it u have the option to replace it w the regular size or if ur like me & barely ever finish a lippie coz u have 50 or 500 of the things (LOL). this goes good w the MAC “O” lipstick.

So, I think I found my new lip – MAC Lovechild, it is for you if you can accept its typical thickness and stickyness. Formula of MAC Lovechild is sticky, creamy, and long-lasting. MAC describes this shade as coppered plum color with brown and beautiful golden sparkles. In my feeling, it looks quite dark and intimidating in the tube, but goes on sheer to light in color. This color is so amazing for daily wear, pairs with purple, bronze, and copper dramatic eye shadow looks with a mauve blush. The typical pro is that it lasts a long time. It can easily stay on your lips over 4 hours even after eating or drinking. Fabulous lip gloss and and item I have repurchased many times for my collection. On my fair complexion (MAC NC15) this shows up as plummy rose with copper shimmer. It looks quite dark and intimidating in the tube, but goes on sheer to light in colour. Love pairing it with purple, bronze, and copper dramatic eyeshadow looks with a mauve blush.

This color looks like a very cool mauve on me. This is fine when I’m wearing plum clothes or I cool colored blush. It’s definitely more cool towards the bluer tone on my lips. It also looks this way because I’m a NC 45 for reference. If you’d like a pinker / warmer color, I’d suggest Viva Glam VI. There’s a bit of sparkle, but it’s a nice warm pink that show’s up on moderately pigmented lips. The only true complaint, the sponge tip applicator is annoying – not enough coverage in one swipe.

Lovechild is a beautiful plum/mauve coloured lipgloss with gold shimmer. Its a really nice colour, but not really a stand out colour. I frequently forget I have it in my stash, but every time I rediscover it I fall in love with it again.

I found this as an alternative to Viva Glam VI lipglass which was discontinued a while ago. VG VI is still the better product- I wish they would reintroduce that color again. Anyway, that was more of browner plum, Love Child is more of a coppery plum, but still pairs well with VG VI lipstick and well as other lipsticks and nice on its own.
However, I went to buy it today at the MAC counter at my local dept store and it was sold out. Went to another store, same thing. The SA at the last store stated it was being discontinued. When I did an online chat on MAC’s website, they stated that it was not being discontinued, but that was always subject to change. It seems to be sold out a lot of locations online which may mean they are phasing it out. If you like it, you might want to get an extra tube. The same thing happened to VG VI lipglass- it was getting hard to find and next thing I knew it was discontinued.

Perfect fall/winter color. It’s so annoying that so many lip glosses are overly pink or too purple. This is the perfect browny dusty rose. It makes my lips look natural with just a hint a color. This is your ‘all day at the office’ or ‘roaming through the market on a sunday morning’ tint of color.

My makeup artist recommended this color for my wedding day lip color since I had mostly pink shades and light purple colors in my wedding. This lipgloss is a plum color with slight copper shimmers. It’s very pigmented and bit darker than my natural lip color. But it still looked nice on my NC30 skin. The lipgloss is moisturizing and pretty long lasting. It didn’t feel too sticky for me either.

Lovechild is a pretty purpley colour on my pigmented lips. Looks great with Satellite Dreams/Sketch combo!

I’m NC42 LOLA and I must say I gravated towards colors like Date night Dazzeglass, and VGV. When I saw this color at the CCO I was attracted to it right away. It is a Plum color with gold/peachy sparkles. ( not gritty). It goes on so smooth and smells devine, like vanilla (just as most MAC lippie products do) I usually where it alone, but lately I have been putting on my Rimmel Airy Fairy lipstick first then my Lovechild lipglass on top, and I love the combo on my skin tone.

Bought this one on MUA recommendations. very pretty when it first goes on but becomes paler and comes off fairly quickly. Overall I find MAC lip gloss consistency just OK, does not make me want to run out and reapply.
Happy with the plum shade but NOT HG

Lovechild is my everyday lipgloss. A plum/rosy colour with hint of shimmer. Perfect for day and night. The colour is slightly lighter than my lip colour which balance out it to a very nice colour tone.
Staying power is average.

This is such a beautiful lip gloss by MAC. It is not stick but long wearing. It appears brownish mauve in the tube but goes on as a golden muted pink. I wouldnt but this again because I already have a dupe to this in my collection which is L’Oreal HIP L/g in Adoring. They both are very similar and the L’oreal l/g is just as pigmented and long wearing. You also get much more product from L’oreal in that squeeze tube. I’m not sure if this l/g line from is discontinued though. Lovechild is still a nice l/g and a good buy.
