Ive used this lately and wondered why I’ve had many bad hair days. So now I did a test, I have a very similar product from KMS, used that on half of my hair and Redken Pillow Proof on the other, nothing else. The side which had KMS, dried fast and looked nice and voluminous. The side with Redken seemed wet for longer, knotty and eventually my hair was limp and dirty looking. Can’t believe theres such a huge difference.

You must be VERY careful with how much you use, as a little bit really does go a long way. With that being said, even a ‘little’ bit caused my hair to go limp and keep from holding a curl. And mind you, my hair can hold curl very easily otherwise. I was initially wanting this product for the primer aspect, but it also delivers the ability to make the hair quite soft. For some, this would be a wonderful attribute. For myself, who wants to keep her hair a little ‘roughed up’ looking to keep with beach wave effect, this product just smoothes everything out too much, does not hold a curl, and leaves the hair looking limp, albeit soft. Even spraying a dry texturizing spray or dry shampoo over my curls/root area did not give my hair the separation and ‘grit’ I need when using pillow proof. Now, the smell. Not good. It could be tolerable if the product was worth it, but, it is not…

Not sure if they changed the formula because it had used to work on my hair–well not anymore. I have to hold my breath when I spray it, as it makes me sneeze. My nose isn’t normally sensitive to scents but this makes me sneeze every time. Also, I felt that it didn’t cut down on my drying time but rather increases the drying time. I also did notice it causes my scalp to itch. No thanks, won’t repurchase.

I purchased this as a heat protector as recommended by my hairdresser. I did know there was a slightly unpleasant smell off it as my hairdresser had used it on me in the salon but it didn’t bother me that much. I can see why some people may have an issue with it though, its kind of a cooking oil scent. I only really noticed the benefit of the product when I used it myself. It cuts down the drying time in half. My hair is shoulder length, thin enough but lots of it so takes ages to dry normally. I normally use my loreal keartin for the steampod, about 3 or 4 sprays for this, blowdry which now takes half the time and then run my steampod over it. Closest I get to a salon blowdry.

I was disappointed in this. First of all, it smells horrible! Its some sort of lime-ish scent. It also didn’t speed up the drying time. It actually seemed to take longer to blow dry. My hair felt limp after I used it. It was definitely a fail for me. It is expensive and I feel like it was a waste of money.

I always looking for heat protect which not weight down hair.
I use only 3-4 spray on my sholder lenght hair.
Its speed up dry hair and not cause scalp reaction (have very sensiive scalp)

We use a ton of this in the salon that I work in! Speeds up drying time and really helps you get a smoother blowout. I’ve noticed on two people that I didn’t need to flat iron their hair after, when I normally do!
The smell isn’t bad. I think it’s nice for a spray. It makes the salon smell wonderful and the scent goes away as soon as the hair is dry anyway.
For a good blowout on wavy hair, you want to use as little product as possible through the ends, and this one is perfect for that!

Garbage. Left my fine hair limp and greasy looking no matter how little I used of it. Also made my scalp itch. No difference detected in so called ‘pillow-proofness’.

My hair is fine, but lots of it,coloured and gets quite greasy pretty quickly at the roots. I bought this initially as a way of speeding up my blow dry time. But it’s best feature for me is that it does seem to be Pillow Proof…. My hair maintains its shape better the next day. I will continue to use this product for that reason.

It does make my curls last longer and makes my hair shiny so it is a good primer, however I won’t buy it again because the smell is way too overpowering!! I’m not sensitive to smell at all but this stuff smells like chemicals mixed with your grandma’s old perfume!!
