I only use this for my lower lashes. I like the wand, but the formula is subpar. I like that I can apply this to my lower lashes without getting it on my skin, but it transfers. I’ll get black dots on my under eyes. Calling it active, I expected it not to do that. I don’t think this would do much to upper lashes. It’s also a wet formula and I’m not too fond of those. It’s an ok lower lash mascara and worth a shot if you want to use it for that purpose. For upper lashes, I would pass. Covergirl has better.

I’ve been a huge fan of LashBlast Volume for years, it is my go-to Mascara. So much so that I go back to it even though I am always looking for the HG. After trying much more pricey options that have tons of great reviews, I always end up back to the orange tube, I love it that much. Active, however, is just junk. Don’t even bother trying it, the mascara smudges on application and throughout the day. It flakes so badly I thought maybe it was supposed to be like the tubular mascaras but it’s not, it just flakes off in huge chunks. I don’t write reviews much but this is so bad I felt compelled to warn others. The formula is garbage – don’t bother with this one.

Good grief, this is awful. 24 hour volume boost my butt. This didn’t even last until lunch. I went for a walk, and by the time I returned to the office, this had flaked and smudged all over the place, and some it had worn off. I can’t understand how this made it past quality control. Into the trash bin this goes. Cover Girl, what were you thinking?

Aieee! Ouch!! When this stuff flakes, and it does from when you start putting it on, it feels like junk getting under your (hard) contact lens. I haven’t worn lenses in many years, but this brought back the sensation immediately and powerfully. I hate when mascaras have lots of product on the brush that I have to blot off before applying—but this actually has way too little. It is easy to remove at the end of the day, in part because so much has flaked off.during the day. The only positives for me are 1] it does not smudge, and 2) the bright coral tube really stands out in a crowded makeup bag!

I bought this as an alternative to try as a base mascara instead of clump crusher.
This is not WP at all and I ended up with racoons eyes mid day. I never had that problem with my WP CC and have since gone back to it.

I’ve been having a terrible time with new mascara formulations. I normally bite the bullet and get Clump Crusher waterproof. It’s ok–but I miss the old Covergirl formulas that were *really* smudge and waterproof (and needed an oil to remove). The Active is a major disappointment. Flaked and smeared under my eyes. Off to order the recommended Heroine Make Super Waterproof. At $9.00, a definite no for anyone looking for a sweat-and waterproof mascara
