I love this product! This is my first foray into the cold cream products, and I just love how it takes away all makeup with ease.
I will say that if I am going to my 6 AM HIIT class, I do not use this the night before. This is so thick that I can feel it moisturizing my face the next day!! And it does not allow your face to sweat through it. I also have only been using this in the winter. It would be way too thick for my liking in the summer. Overall, I like the texture, smell, and the way it removes all makeup. Give it a shot!

I saw a youtube video reviewing this product and just had to give it a try. The label says it’s a cleansing cream, but it’s really a traditional cold cream. Normally I use Pond’s Cold Cream, but the reviewer said this was better. I used it twice. It’s very thick and doesn’t breakdown as fast as Pond’s. It also leaves a thick film over the face, which is next to impossible to tissue off. I used a foaming cleanser, bar soap, and finally liquid dish soap to remove the film. Strangely, after using this the face feels just coated instead of moist like it does with Pond’s Cold Cream. The worst part of my experiment is that this caused a bunch of my pores to expand on my nose and forehead. I’m afraid the open pores are going to be permanent. This was a total waste of $25.00 dollars. The only nice things I can say about the product is that it smells nice and you get a lot of it.

This is one of the few MN products I’ve not been happy with. It feels kind of oddly firm, and I prefer a cream that melts to more of an oil consistency, like the cheapie Jergens, for instance. It’s also far more expensive and doesn’t seem to provide any additional cleaning power or other benefit.

I have used this product off and on for 5 decades. I especially love to use it in winter. I slather it on and remove it with a warm damp washcloth. My skin feels soft and I don’t even use a moisturizer. Most creams are irritating to my eyes even if I am careful to avoid the area but this is never irritating. In fact, one of the best things that I like about MN products is that they never irritate my sensitive skin. And I love the fragrance. When I use it I always get a feeling of old Hollywood glamour. Of course taking off every bit of makeup is its reason for being. MN has several cleansers but this is the best. Sometimes the SA try to push newer and more expensive products. Stand firm. The Cold Cream, Miracol, and Powder Base are all you need to care for your skin!

Best makeup remover I have ever used, and I have tried many. One jar lasts months, so it is a good value.

There is a reason my great grandmother and grandmother has been using this for many years. They are the type of women who dont leave the house without makeup even to go to the grocery store, thus, they wear makeup everyday and it’s a pain removing it everyday and harsh on the skin, so I guess using a cold cream type cleanser made sense. I bought this myself and have been using it for the past two weeks here are my thoughts:
VERY thick and emollient. It leaves a thick film on the skin afterwards. With my normal skin, this alone at night and no moisturizers is enough. In winter, colder and drier climates and dry skin, this is a heaven sent. It is a solid that you only need just a small amount from which is rubbed into the skin until dissolved and until the makeup is dissolved. I also wear makeup every time I step out of the house and this removes everything from waterproof mascara, long-wear foundation, lipstick, powders, dirt, you name it. With cold creams such as this, you dont have to rinse it away, you can also wipe it off with tissues or a washcloth. I like to take a warm damp washcloth and wipe everything off, follow up with a toner, then a serum. I wake up to amazing soft skin. It does have a strong noticeable scent which I personally love. It’s a powdery cosmetic smell that reminds me of my grandmother. It comes in a only a few sizes: large and humongous. You get so much product that it will last you a long time. So far, this is my favorite product from Merle Norman, Im really surprised at the quality and effectiveness. I too will be making this a staple in my routine!

I have been using this for at least 20 years. Do I need to say more? I guess I could:-)
As a reference, I have sensitive, combo, occasional zits, oily noise with moderately open pores. I like to give this as the review really depends on our skin canvas.
How do I use this:
After cleansing in the shower. I am using Dermalogica Special Gel Cleaner at the moment.
Sometimes by itself in the morning, I feel pressing and rolling this gently is a calm morning ritual.
Texture: Pasty, mildly granular, rich, non irritating
Scent: Hard to describe, I love it, nothing overwhelming, it is just really the ingredients in.
Feeling after usage: My skin feels supple and hydrated and no need to follow up with a moisturizer. So yes, it does leave an oily film that is melting in as you pat your skin dry.
Usage: I would highly recommend when the dry or cold season hits. I use it year round, NOT everyday…for me at least. Would be a tad too rich. I would also suggest to go on dr. Haushka’s website to review how to use their press and roll technique which makes a wonderful massage.
Value: Not using daily, a tube on sale is less than $20 and will last me 3 to 4 months.
Other Dr. Haushka products I love: Tinted Day Cream, Neem nail Oil, Clarifying Toner.
Dr Haushka’s website has generous and regular sales, specially around solstice and equinox. Talk about being in tunes with nature…even their sales are:-) Great company, I order direct from them on sale.
I hope this helps, I would like tot hank you for reading and sharing your experiences.

Recieved a small trial size tube of this with purchase and was excited to give it a try. Using AM and PM as the first step in my skincare routine, I dampen my face with warm water and mix this with a touch of water in the palm of my hand and then ‘press’ into my skin. It does become tempting to rub but you should avoid doing that according to the instructions. Repeat several more times and then rinse.
What I find with this is it’s quite hydrating and on a night time I don’t require a moisturizer afterwards. It’s quite a novel method of cleansing (at least for me) and also slightly time consuming. I’m used to just foaming up a cleanser on my face and rinsing off. I did notice some slight brightness to my complexion but no difference on pores. It didn’t break me out either which is a good thing and my skin actually ‘felt’ better, as odd as that might sound. I generally find the Dr Hauschka range to be hit and miss – love the ingredients and concept but I don’t find that the products really do anything significant for my skin.

This is my favorite facial cleanser; I’ve used it for maybe four years now. I really like taking time in the morning to press it into my skin; I spend a few minutes, adding more water if necessary. I do think that it helps exfoliation, because whenever I stray from this product and then go back to it, my skin sheds a bit for a few days. When I first started using it, I noticed that my skin became brighter. I like that it is not overly harsh or stripping. I have normal to dry skin, and I use this only at night. I think that using it twice a day would be a little hard on my skin (I think it would be drying), so I use a creamy cleansing lotion in the a.m.
I will say that the tube delivery system is kind of a pain. You want to get every last bit out of the tube, since it’s expensive, and it can be really difficult. I suppose the tube keeps the cleansing cream moist and less prone to contamination, though.
By the way, this product is not meant for removing makeup. If you are wearing makeup, use a makeup remover first (or oil, or whatever you prefer for that), and then use this cleanser as your follow-up cleanser.

I have a long history with Hauschka’s products. I think I started to use them about 12 years ago and then something made me to stop.
I do not remember what i was and why, but when I recall this time what I remember is I had the best skin condition ever (Somewhere in my head I could find flash back about my breaking out intensively, but now I know why)
Of course – I was younger, that is true, but I would not contribute this to the age only.
I was struggling to find the perfect products for my skin type (mature, oily but dehydrated, acne- and clogging-prone.
Finally I stuck to Sebagh, Neostrata and creme de la mer products, but my skin was not perfect.
As I have nothing to loose and hit the most expensive brands on the market, I though I would experiment one more time with Hauschka. First, replaced CDLM with the rose day cream (and saw huge improvement), then – I stopped cleansing my face in the morning with Sebagh cleansing foam, and used the cleansing cream instead (while still not changing the evening routine). I followed the instructions form their website religiously, but did not use the cleansing milk in the morning, prior to the cream (as I do not wear makeup at night ;))
WOW! WOW! WOW!
I remember I stopped using this cream, as I was feeling it leaves a waxy residue, dries my skin out and clogged me. That was purely my fault, as I was using it improperly (ie. using too much product, do not removing makeup in the evening – just relying on the cream, treating my face to vigorously with it – dragging, peeling, etc).
When used as it should, the skin i a few days improved – was balances, much less red, the oiliness was less – about 70% less that usual, and – the most important – my pores started to shrink and the impurities were dragged out of them.
Moreover my skin look fresh, young and hydrated. I am still a bit hesitant to use it at night, I will see how long my skin will be improving and whether unwanted clogging appear (but nothing is showing this will happen) and I will move to cleansing milk and this cream as a evening cleanser.
If you haven’t try the product – pleas do. It not so costly, but may change your skin health and appearance 🙂

I keep coming back to this. moisturizing and exfoliating. i use it before hauschka;s facial toner and rose day cream. my skin is gooooood. i don’t wear makeup-apart from lipgloss or lipstick so i can’t say how it works as a makeup remover.

I was looking for a good cleaning cream with natural ingredients. Dr. Hauschka is a stable brand here in Germany so I was ready for a good solid product but it does nothing for me. If you are caked up with make up like me this just can’t remove it. I think it is more for people who doesn’t use as much long lasting stuff. It isn’t for scrubbing and it isn’t strong enough. You might think that it isn’t for remove makeup but to deep clean. Even for a after makeup removing deep cleaning there are way better products out there.

My job gifted me items from the Dr. Hauschuka range. I got two of these cleansers. Usually I use the oil cleansing method to thoroughly remove my makeup. It’s more of a clay consistency than a cream. It has rough granules in it. This did a decent job at removing makeup. It doesn’t smell good. It contains alcohol and fragrance. The packaging got holes where it leaked. Overall a huge pass.

UPDATE: I started to use this as a makeup remover and found it works better as that then a cleanser. Gets off all the hard to remove products easily and effortlessly without leaving any residues on the skin but I do recommend using cotton pads or a cloth to remove this cream fully.
——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
This is the best cleanser for people with dry skin. Is literally the only one I have tried that doesn’t make my face feel dry or uncomfortable after every use, it actually hydrates my skin lol. I can get away without using a moisturizer after but I still do just for extra moisture. Can be used to remove makeup if you want but I like it more as a cleanser. I do recommend using a damp cloth to remove it though, it doesn’t come off easily if you use your hands for whatever reason but it doesn’t bother me as using a cloth is great for getting off dead skin. Leaves the skin feeling soft but very clean and healthy.
This is a mineral oil based product so it might not be for everyone but is great for most skin types. Comes in a decently sized white jar that holds 240ml of product so this will last you a long time especially since you only need to use a little bit. I use this twice a day everyday with great results as my skin has never been this moisturized or clear and has less redness then before I started using this. You can get this in most drugstores in Canada and on their website which ships to both Canada and the USA for $15.95. Highly recommend checking this out if you have dry skin and want a cleanser that both hydrates and cleans without any fragrances added to it.

Left a film on my face after I rinsed it off.

I wish I liked this cleanser! I got a sample of it because of these great reviews, however after I used it my face did feel soft and clean but dry! and I am young, still have a oily t-zone, so I don’t know what to think. I use orgins cleansing oil as a makeup remover before I used to so maybe the combination may have left my skin dry? Not that crazy about it will stick with my Clarins shea cleanser.

I LOVE this cleanser… at first application, I thought wow this cleanser is too much like a cream and it will never clean my face well. I was so wrong, this cleansing cream is so gentle yet VERY effective. My face feels smooth, cleansed and not over dried at all. This is my goto cleanser now and despite the expensive price tag, I don’t want to be without it.

Oh man. I really wish I didn’t like this cleanser. I got a free sample size tube as a gift with purchase. I kept it aside to use for travel but decided to try it one day and couldn’t believe how well it cleansed my skin. It’s a lot thinner in consistency than I thought so it spread really nicely and rinsed off so easily. The real test was using my toner on cotton. There were no traces of any dirt or makeup after using this cleanser!! My face was left moisturized with no tightness whatsoever!! The cost is prohibitive. Seriously. But I’ve never used such a thorough yet gentle cleansing cream ever!

Where to begin. This is my holy grail cleanser, and I’ve been using it exclusively for the last eight years. It’s very creamy, lathers well, and leaves the skin soft and smooth. Like the name implies, it’s very gentle, doesn’t strip the skin, and feels luxurious. Imagine every shower, it’s like feeding your skin with soft goodness. Afterwards, there is no tight squeaky feeling, and there is no residue. Just your cleaned, soft skin. It leaves skin bright and fresh. I have never broken out from this, it’s only done good things.
Of course, all of this comes with a price. Yes, it’s very expensive. But I’ve been using the same tube for the past year and a half, and I still have close to a third left. You only need a TINY amount (TINY, you only need half of a pea-sized amount) for this to lather into a milky velvet emulsion. $72 for a tube at Nordstrom, yes I know it’s steep.
But nothing comes close to how good this is. Trust me, splurge. You’ll won’t regret it.
spiritedMoth1
Luxuries are expensive – but what a lovely treat for your face! It’s soft & creamy in a silky way so when you massage the tiny dab (all you need) around your face, it feels SO good. I’ve tried many face cleansers that claim to remove mu but this is one of the few that really gets the eyes & lashes clean. No scrubbing, toweling or cotton balls needed – it melts off with your fingers. Occasionally a drop of eye mu remover on a Q-tip is needed to get the stubborn spots along my lash line.
Before this, I used the Shishedo cleanser, but like this better because it’s lighter.
excludedOwl8
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! It’s my HG, feels like silk and after I use it so does my skin! It does have some oils in it which worried me (I am acne prone) but I have used it for over a year with no problems. PS I know some people wash with something else afterwards to cut the oil?! I do not, I just follow with Amazonia Neroli Tonic Treatment Probiotic Vitamin Toner (very gentle/not astringent/no alcohol). I have yet to find a better product!!!

I couldn’t get past the smell. It was so overpowering that I couldn’t even try the product. I can’t stand perfumey cosmetics and this was the worst.
wakefulBasmati8
Just bought this product a few days ago and I’ve used it ever since. I suffer from dry skin with an oily T-Zone and it balances my whole face out without being dry or oily. Removes make-up great. I bought the huge tub and I’m sure it will last a long time. Leaves my face clean, and soft. Love this product!!!
excludedEagle4
A great cleansing cream which has texture, substance & moisturize very well. The tub is so big and you don’t need much to cover your face and then wipe off. It took out all my leftover traces of foundations & powder. It does leave a moisturizing film on my face & I have dry skin here in Canadian winter, so it works well. I can see this huge tub will last me a long time! Works out to be reasonable as I paid CDN $28.00 for such big tub and current MN is having a Winter promo so I got 20% off the price. They have new packaging now and it looks pretty chic! Vintage beauty is definitely coming back – yes, cold creams!!

I usually never nuz same thing twice, but this one just hooked me up. I am also not a fan of ‘you should use only one brand’, but dr. Hauschka made an exception to me and I swear by it <3...
I had acne prone skin for last 20 years (start2at age of 10) and triennial many things. From drugstore, pharmaceutical, over counter, high end and corean cosmetics. With last two I get best results, but my skin never cleared and calm down tottaly. O found out that I have also needed to change/switch my skincare routine constantly (!) almost day byou day to combine and mix all products (cleansers , mask, toners, exfoliation, serum, aha, bha treatments, night/sleeping packs) of i wanted to keep my skin in balance. 10+layers almost every night orepair day...
With dr hauschka mini kit for about 12e (13$) my world has changed. I admit, I didn't put no big hopes in it between try it out. O acumtually premore for another nasty break out of another very natural and over loaded with oils cosmetics. But my skin mirricaly cleared up from day to day more, breakouts dissappear and my skin looked so much better! I had never experienced something like that! And this with only 3-4products!!!!
So I imidiately bought full size cleanser (which is great and smell amazing - but you need the time to work with it. No place for 'in hurry' ladies here), sprout with toner and apply melissa cream or balancing oil. For eye cream I use just their renovating mask (also include in introduction kit) and mix of clearing mask and to ercan as a spot treatment.
Easy as this. Works miracle!!!!
crushedWigeon9
My skin is very difficult to work with. I have large pores on nose and some other places, my nose gets SO MUCH oily, I have acnes here and there (hormones, stress), also acne scars, and I often feel the rest of my face needs to be hydrated a bit more.
Dr Hauschka products finally normalized my condition. They don´t do miracles, but it`s the only thing that noticeably works! Pores look a bit smaller and are really clean after I wash my face, oily nose IS GONE, rest of my face doesn´t feel so dry. Acnes are still there though but I believe I have to check my hormone status for that.
I get why people don`t like this cleansing cream- smell and texture are so awkward and the fact that you need to press it in can make you give up on this product, but I didn´t and it made my skin so much better pretty fast. It doesn´t leave your face super dry, at least not until you spray toner. But you can still leave out facial cream when it´s night time routine and it will actually ballance your sebum production. Sometimes I use night serum, and for day I use mellisa cream, smells gorgeous.

Great cleanser!!

This, to me, is a great makeup remover. Up until now I was a devotee to Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil. At first I found this to be a little too heavy/creamy but once I got used to it am loving it more and more. It removes makeup very effectively but gently while moisturizing my skin. I simply wash it off with warm water and then follow with my CdP Gentle Foaming Cleanser for that squeaky clean feeling. This combination of cleansing leaves my skin instantly glowy and brightened. This has to be a tie with my HG Shu Uemura Oil and yes Shu is more economical because you get a large bottle for around the same price. This is more luxury for sure but I love Cdp products so most likely I’ll repurchase (for the winter months). For summer I’ll stick to my all time favourite Shu Cleansing Oil.
ashamedApples7
Sigh, yes this is outrageously expensive for something you wash off your face, but I really love this product. It feels and smells so nice while I am washing my face. Afterwards my face feels so smooth and moisturized. It is a great product for those with sensitive or dry skin. I use tazorac so my skin needs something gentle. A little goes a long way so a tube lasts me for about 4 months. I only use it at night.
amusedHare9
It’s expensive but it removes the makeup so gently yet at the same time moisturizes as well. Again, if you have sensitive skin, you don’t want to use any harsh products especially on your face. If you need to scrub to remove your makeup, then you’re using the wrong makeup remover. This is a cream without granules and it’s the best for dry sensitive skin. I used to use Decleor, but I can’t stand the smell. This one is pleasantly scented.
