If you are looking for a niacinamide serum that offers a bit more than just the brightening antioxidant, niacindamide, The Stratia Skincare Liquid Gold could be a good product worth checking out. The Liquid Gold has a serum-y lotion texture which smooths over skin easily and a little goes a long way. The other beneficial ingredients in Liquid Gold focus on building a healthy skin barrier and contains ceramides, fatty acids, and cholesterol.
I love that it is fragrance and denatured alcohol free. I do want to say, if you have acne prone skin, this one might not be the best match. I rarely breakout and I even had a couple issues acclimating my skin to this serum. Just be a bit cautious about some of the acnegenic ingredients. I also appreciate the price (1 ounce for $27) and decent packaging. A great product for those looking to help with their healthy skin barrier. My more detailed video review can be seen here: Y

Love love love this product. Has made such a difference in my skin and is my HG moisturizer

I went more out of my way to write this review than I typically would simply because it’s that good. I had damaged my skin barrier pretty bad to the point I didn’t want to leave the house. I had the orange peel skin texture due to over exfoliation. I had tried around 5–10 different products for about 2 months and nothing worked. I see about a 60-75% improvement in the texture of my skin in 3 weeks. I highly recommend this stuff. It truly works.

I am now on my fifth bottle of this product and will never stop purchasing it unless she changes the formulation. I have yet to find any product that addresses dry and/or dehydrated skin so quickly.
I cannot recommend this product enough for people with mature/sensitive skin and because of using Tretinoin, may be more vulnerable to dehydration.
Routine: I use it Stratia Ultra Gold after my thicker serums (or thicker essences depending on my skin’s needs that day). I find it works even better compounded with a couple of drops of Good Molecules squalene oil. I apply two thin layers and then about 2-5 minutes to absorb before continuing with thicker moisturizers and/occlusive oils.
HG Status: I use anywhere from 10-30 products in either my am or pm routine and this one I NEVER go without.

I am conflicted by this product. On the one hand it is wonderful – great ingredients in the right percentages, all while being light and working well with other products in my routine. On the other hand I can’t use it for more than a few days without my pores clogging deeply and horribly, and taking weeks to undo the damage. I want to love this so, so badly, but no matter how many times or how many different ways I try using it my skin just hates it. It’s extremely disappointing, and as much as I am willing to own up to the fact that the failure has more to do with my skin than anything else, this is also pretty notorious on r/SCA and r/AB for causing breakouts, so I know it’s not just an isolated incident either.

This is so good. I’m a fan. It gives my 40 year old dry skin some major plump and glow! I usually layer my moisturizer over it but it’s enough to be used alone even on my dry skin. It’s $24. That’s a steal for ceramides, peptides and cholesterol ingredients. I love this stuff!

I am oily/dehydrated/sensitive. I am trying to fix my skin with light products that won’t clog pores and are soothing. This seemed to answer my prayers!! However, it caused a bad reaction on my face after using it twice. I have no idea what ingredient set my skin off but I am persistently dealing with blotchiness and redness. It caused hives and red irritation pumps. My face was throbbing. Glad it works for most but for me it was a bad experience.

I’ve repurchased this twice now in the original bottle. They just launched a new bottle, thereby removing my only complaint about this product (the pump didn’t get the last ~20 uses without opening it up and shaking). The formula has truly transformed my skin. I’ve tried Cera Ve, Kate Somerville Goat Milk, Dr. Jart Ceramidin, Aveeno, and every single one either broke me out or didn’t provide the soothing moisture I was looking for. This moisturizer cut down the redness in my cheeks by like 80%, soothes any irritation and does not break me out at all. My skin is more resilient and even. I use it on top of a hyaluronic acid (currently hada labo) and it’s a perfect combination.

What I want: a lightweight hydrator with ceramides that isn’t tested on animals or sold in China, where they mandate animal testing even for products that claim to be cruelty-free. For some reason this is near-impossible, as many cruelty free brands are just full of cheap oils and without the really good stuff proven to work.
It’s lightweight and you can layer it over and over if you’d like more hydration. I use it under my sunscreen on some days, even in summer, and it’s not too much. It doesn’t *feel* as hydrating as it is, if that makes any sense.
On a scale of 1 – 10, 1 being very oily skin and 10 being so dry your skin is cracking or patchy, I’d recommend it for 1 – 6 alone, and from a 7 – 10 as an additional layer under a heavier moisturizer.
I think of it as a hydrator rather than a moisturizer, if that makes any sense. For an oilier face it’s more than enough, and for a dryer face it’s a great additional layer. The ingredients are top-notch, as is the bottle and pump combo.

This does even your skin out and makes it smooth with out feeling greasy after. It really helps when you are using actives and have dry patches. I’m giving it a three because it causes a lot of closed comedones everywhere. I can’t use it more than one day straight because closed comedones start appearing. I’m pretty sure it’s because the squalene is olive derived and I’m allergic to olive oil.
