I’ve been reaching for the ABH Jackie Aina combination very often because I’ve purchased it! I like that is contains colours that I currently gravitate in the direction of. My skintone is tool (around MAC NC37, if I had to think? sort of golden in tone), so I certainly run into a problem with a great deal of schemes where the “transition” shades just match my skintone and also a great deal of colours run too light on me and also look milky.
The formula is a bit fine-grained, however it mixes actually beautifully. I get ideal outcomes by placing a lot of shadow on and afterwards mixing it out as opposed to building it up gradually like I normally do, specifically for mattes. Customarily, the shimmers/metallics are most vivid as well as nontransparent when used with a finger, however a brush is good to large them down for a more toned-down or everyday appearance.
The 3 pushed pigment tones can discolor bare eyelids however did not create me any type of irritation; primer ought to prevent discoloration. Surprisingly, I delighted in the color Supreme since it is really good to layer with Ginger or Edges to make a much less orange and less bright transition color. Authority has a much drier formula than the others, as well as I required to use a great deal of it on the eyes to match the colour in the frying pan. That was sort of frustrating. It’s likewise weirdly stiff as well as not fine-grained compared to all the various other mattes.
The other matte tones are great, Ginger is my favourite transition; Edges has a fantastic formula however it’s too red for me as a change, personally, however a little bit of it on the external edge is wonderful. Credit score is fun because it’s not simply a dark brownish as well as it matches all the shimmer shades truly perfectly to create an easy look when put on the external corner.
All the glimmers are nice, but as quite as Zamn is, it produces a lot of fallout. Funded is likewise my fav color for a one-and-done look, however it has the shortest long life and also sadly wrinkles one of the most out of all the shimmer tones. Nevertheless, I am a sucker for duochromes, so I can approve that. All the other shades in the scheme can last practically 9+ hrs on me with primer. I additionally like Lituation a whole lot due to the fact that it’s sort of cool-toned but does not look milky or grey due to the plum tone in the taupe.
In general, any type of formula issues are minor, the coloring is quite great all around besides Authority. I didn’t have any issues with tones looking chalky or blending right into absolutely nothing on my skin tone as well as I love that I was able to produce a wide array of looks making use of a solitary combination without having to reach for additional change tones. It’s a wonderful day-to-day combination. I believed the shimmers would certainly be excessive, however they appear sensibly proper when utilized with a brush as opposed to fingers. It’s actually functional as a palette, and goes from neutral to party setting relying on how you combine tones.

I have just develop one look that I like with this combination, and also it involves using the lightest shimmer on a lot of the cover, using the lightest neutral matte, and also the darkest color of the combination which is Credit. The rest of the shimmers look very dark on me which amazed me. I have an olive tan skintone and black hair. The matte midtones look strange on me also, as well as incorporated with the darker colors, which are less dark than I anticipated, the looks appear low contrast. I do not like this. I’m going to attempt to utilize the shimmers as midtones rather than cover colors, or just stay with utilizing them in the outer edge of the cover as well as see if I such as that. So I have to change the method I do my makeup to see if I can make this job. Perhaps this would work far better to make smoky eyes. I rejoice I got this scheme at a discount rate honestly. It’s simply not that lovely on me.
That said, the mattes are pigmented as well as blend like a dream. The shimmers go from smooth to metallic. Theres just one that is more glittery or granular looking, however it looks ok. I had actually looked at numerous appearances before buying, suched as none of them, but still proceeded and bought it, believing that in individuals like me or darker it would look wonderful. But from what I’ve seen it looks best on dark, very dark skin, and also unusually sufficient, on light skin with tool to light hair. I think it’s since despite the fact that its a darker combination, it is also a low comparison combination, and also they have reduced contrast between their skin and hair normally so its suits them, and all the shades make for pretty smoky eyes on them.
Dont like it. Wouldnt repurchase, but high quality is great.

I seldom, if ever, create palette testimonials because I’m a palette hoarder and I obtain tired of them very quickly. Nothing regarding this palette spoke with me when I first saw it yet then I saw it included in a couple of 2019 favorites video clips so I viewed a few examining it. There is something extremely special about the option of shades as well as versatility of this palette that really influence me. The mattes are a dream as well as I assume Ginger is rapidly becoming my favored fold color. I can not put this down, it may even be my favorite ABH combination and also I haven’t even touched Sponsored yet!

I’ve been reaching for the ABH Jackie Aina palette very frequently since I’ve purchased it! I like that is contains colours that I already gravitate towards. My skintone is medium (around MAC NC37, if I had to guess? kind of golden in tone) , so I definitely encounter an issue with a lot of palettes where the “transition” shades just match my skintone and a lot of colours run too light on me and look chalky.
The formula is a bit powdery, but it blends really beautifully. I get best results by putting a bunch of shadow on and then blending it out as opposed to building it up little by little like I usually do, particularly for mattes. As usual, the shimmers/metallics are most vibrant and opaque when applied with a finger, but a brush is good to sheer them down for a more toned-down or everyday look.
The 3 pressed pigment shades can stain bare eyelids but did not cause me any irritation; primer should prevent staining. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the shade Supreme because it is really good to layer with Ginger or Edges to make a less orange and less bright transition shade. Big Wig has a much drier formula than the others, and I needed to apply a lot of it on the eyes to match the colour in the pan. That was kind of disappointing. It’s also weirdly stiff and not powdery compared to all the other mattes.
The other matte shades are great, Ginger is my favourite transition; Edges has a great formula but it’s too reddish for me as a transition, personally, but a bit of it on the outer corner is great. Credit is fun because it’s not just a dark brown and it complements all the shimmer shades really nicely to create an easy look when placed on the outer corner.
All the shimmers are nice, but as pretty as Zamn is, it produces a lot of fallout. Sponsored is also my fav shade for a one-and-done look, but it has the shortest longevity and unfortunately creases the most out of all the shimmer shades. However, I am a sucker for duochromes, so I can accept that. All the other shades in the palette can last pretty much 9+ hours on me with primer. I also like Lituation a lot because it’s kind of cool-toned but doesn’t look chalky or grey because of the plum tone in the taupe.
Overall, any formula issues are minor, the pigmentation is pretty great all around except for Big Wig. I didn’t have any issues with shades looking chalky or blending into nothing on my skin tone and I love that I was able to create a wide variety of looks using a single palette without having to reach for supplementary transition shades. It’s a great everyday palette. I thought the shimmers would be too much, but they seem reasonably appropriate when used with a brush instead of fingers. It’s really versatile as a palette, and goes from neutral to party mode depending on how you combine shades.

I have only come up with one look that I like with this palette, and it involves applying the lightest shimmer on most of the lid, using the lightest neutral matte, and the darkest color of the palette which is Credit. The rest of the shimmers look very dark on me which surprised me. I have an olive tan skintone and black hair. The matte midtones look peculiar on me too, and combined with the darker colors, which are less dark than I expected, the looks come out low contrast. I dont like this. I’m going to try to use the shimmers as midtones instead of lid colors, or just stick to using them in the outer corner of the lid and see if I like that. So I have to change the way I do my makeup to see if I can make this work. Maybe this would work better to make smoky eyes. I’m glad I got this palette at a discount honestly. It’s just not that flattering on me.
That said, the mattes are pigmented and blend like a dream. The shimmers go from smooth to metallic. Theres only one that is more glittery or granular looking, but it looks ok. I had looked at many looks before purchasing, liked none of them, but still went ahead and bought it, thinking that in people like me or darker it would look great. But from what I’ve seen it looks best on dark, very dark skin, and oddly enough, on light skin with medium to light hair. I think it’s because even though its a darker palette, it is also a low contrast palette, and they have low contrast between their skin and hair naturally so its suits them, and all the colors make for pretty smoky eyes on them.

In the autumn 2019 Jackie Aina eyeshadow palette you get 14 shades: Soleil (Metallic soft peach with a gold shift), Supreme (Matte rosy pink pressed pigment), Pinker (Matte mid-tone cool plum pressed pigment), Big wig (Matte rich purple pressed pigment), Dwollahs (Metallic golden olive), Credit (Deep matte plum brown), Lituation (Metallic deep taupe with a violet shift), Zamn (Sparkling rose gold), Wiggalese (Metallic cranberry red),Shookington (Metallic violet with a blue shift), Trust issues (Sparkling white gold), Edges (Matte deep peach), Sponsored (Metallic chocolate with a teal shift) and Ginger (Matte caramel brown). You also get a double-ended brush in the palette, with is surprisingly high quality and is something that I regularly use.
The shadows all have great pigmentation and there’s no heavy shimmer/glitter that doesn’t adhere to skin and goes everywhere, plus everything is crease & fade resistant. I’ve not had any issues with shades skipping or oxidizing. I keep saying that ABH’s shadows are soft, which they are, but the formulas are more Modern Renaissance and Sultry soft and buildable, rather than Subculture and Prism mega pigmentation in one swipe. One thing to bear in mind is that the shades Supreme, Pinker and Big Wig are classed as pressed pigments not as eyeshadow, due to the dyes used in the formulas not being approved by the FDA for use on the eyes – this doesn’t mean anything for most people, but there may be irritation and/or staining for those with very sensitive skin.
If you have light or fair skin then there aren’t any base or blending-type shades, making it a bit trickier to get neater transitions and/or edges, and the shades all come off very richly, so need blending to the point of becoming patchy.s There’s no rule saying that every eyeshadow palette has to be a one-and-done deal, that can go from desk to party, I’m just saying that the shades look softer in the pan compared to how they apply on the skin, and achieving clean finishes to looks is harder compared to my other ABH palettes – this is dependent on your skintone, though.
If you have medium or darker skintones, then I think that you’ll really enjoy the shades here; they range from everyday work-appropriate, free-time and special occasion pops. I also think that you wouldn’t have the blending problems people with lighter skintones can have. If you have light or fair skintones, then this is a decent palette, but isn’t a must-have in my opinion; the shimmers are all gorgeous, but the matte selections d aren’t my favourite.
