I bought mask with high hopes but am very disappointed. I was a loyal user of BS’s blue corn mask which was great at removing my stubborn nose blackheads. This new mask is very, very unpleasant to use. It has this incredibly overwhelming fragrance which is like men’s cologne. I wish TBS would reduce the amount of fragrance in all its products but I guess it thinks that ppl in their 20’s (their main target audience) like fragrance, which is silly.
But more importantly – it stings like heck when I apply it! There is a killer amount of alcohol in it, plus menthol – ugh.
In terms of it’s efficacy, it’s only so so. Not worth the pain upon application.
If you decide to try anyway, please do get a sample first before buying a whole jar. In fact, the jar packaging is the only thing I do like: it’s glass, so recyclable.

I used to love this mask to help with my acne prone skin. This mask dealt with breakouts fast and gently as well. The exfoliating leaves in this mask aren’t harsh and it leaves your skin looking glowy and beautiful. It smells quite earthy but it isn’t an unpleasant scent. There’s no tingly feeling and it feels quite refreshing going on. If i didn’t change my skincare routine I would still be using this.

Absolute magic stuff. Clears up any spots/acne I have within a few hours so you don’t have to pop them, (which I never do anyway bcos gross) It stings a bit when you put it on and is a bit of a nightmare to wash off but that means its doing its job! I have re purchased and will do so. I have a combination skin of dry & oily and its worked super for me.

This is, without a doubt, the most perfumed face mask I’ve ever used. I usually don’t mind a little bit of perfume in skin care, and most of what I use have some kind of fragrance to it. But we’re talking about fragrance being in the bottom three ingredients – in this mask it’s way up there in the list (12th ingredient out of 33). I don’t understand why they would do that. The scent is really strong and not very pleasant either. It also has alcohol denat as one of the main ingredients. I think those two ingredients are the reason why it stings quite badly when applied. I’m usually fine with kaolin and other clay masks, but this one is pretty unpleasant for the first 5-10 minutes.
Ingredients (and discomfort) aside, it does seem to do a pretty good job at drawing out impurities. The skin looks more radiant and feel quite cleansed afterwards, if a little raw. The leaves (green tea, I believe) is a real pain to get off, which probably contributes to the raw feeling. Not even soaking while taking a shower, which I usually find dissolves even the most stubborn masks, helps with these leaves. I have to resort to scraping them off my skin with my nails..
I will use it up because it makes my skin look quite nice, and because it has some acne fighting properties to it, but I won’t repurchase.
+ Cruelty free
+ Vegan
+ Skin looks clearer and brighter after use
+ Not too drying
– Way too heavily perfumed
– Alcohol denat as fifth ingredient, which is both drying and irritating to the skin
– Jar packaging
– The tea leaves are incredibly hard to remove

This product is great if you have deep pores with blackheads. I have a hard time clearing my blackheads to the point where when I use pore stips no blackheads come out. That being said when I first bought this product I used it three days in a row. My pores are now clear and my complexion has gotten brighter! This mask has a high content of tea tree oil so it has a very strong scent that is delicious but the fumes make you squint as you apply the mask. I recommend using the brush that you can buy because a little goes a long way with it. I predict getting at least 25 masks out of the bottle.

This Charcoal mask leaves a very fresh and tingly feeling after it is washed off. It is nice that it has bits of green tea leaves that gives an added gentle exfoliation. I can almost dub this a glam glow (original version) dupe as the way it dries down is very similar to GlamGlow. I would highly recommend this face mask, as it fantastic for everyday gentle exfoliation (when applied thinly) and great for a deeper cleanses when applied thick.

It works so good on me! Makes my skin clearer & softer.. all the blackheads & whiteheads are gone! Can be used for acne treatment spot too. But if you leave it too long on your skin, sometimes it makes your skin drier.. so use it only 10 minutes maximal.. but i definetely love this product????

I love this mask. it really clears up my skin of any blackheads and it leaves my skin feeling soft and my pores minimized. i would say however, it does feel very drying and uncomfortable while its on but the after effects are worth it in my opinion. i would also advise that you moisturize before and after this mask for the best affect.

Amazing mask – tightens my pores, minimizes breakouts and leaves my skin glowing. Massive pain to wash off though, the leaves/charcoal extracts like to stick. Price is reasonable and packaging is gorgeous.

I’ve read the amazing reviews from tons of bloggers/beauty gurus that i follow. So when i was done with my face mask i gave this one a try.
Over all i like it, it shrinks the size of my pores and drys up couple of my active break outs. The packaging is nice, it comes with a protective lid so that the mask doesn’t dry out.
However it is a pain to get it off my face. It has these little leaves in it that dry up and just sticks to your face for life. Im not even joking, every time I use this i spend at least 15 minutes washing my face. It just over works my face for no reason.
If you have sensitive skin or any sort of active breakout i do not recomend it to you. It works for oily/ combination skin. (I have combination skin with a little bit of hormonal acne) The mask did even out my skin a bit and if you are on a budget it is the best that I’ve tried in the drugstore range. If you can spare a bit more then i can recommend Origins charcoal mask. It doesn’t dry out the skin and also shrinks the pores????????
