   My eye shape is almond and slightly upturned in the outer corners. The Tweezerman ProMaster curler was recommended to me by the SA at Sephora as the best fitting one for my eye shape. Before this, I was using Sephora’s brand of curler and while it was OK, it kept missing all the tiny lash hairs in the inner and outer corners of my eyes. The Tweezerman gets all the hairs, including the little ones in the corners all in one go. The best part is I can press the curler up against my lids and curl from the base of the lashes without pinching the lids. The result is a perfect looking curl from base to tip that doesn’t look crimped. I also recently acquired the Shiseido curler and IMO, they both perform identical for my eye shape.

   Deep-set eyes girls, this is your lash curler!!

   I’ve been searching for a lash curler that actually grabs my lashes at the roots. I settled for a Cleanlogic one that would somewhat help curl my lashes, but I could never get to the base. This Tweezerman one really changed the game for me. Just look at the photos!!

   I just purchased this eyelash curler at Sephora the other day, and I must say I love it! This is the ONLY eyelash curler I can use that reaches the base of my lashes. I have almond, hooded eyes (think Blake Lively’s eye shape, although she is much prettier than me ;)) and have never been able to use an eyelash curler effectively… they all gave me that “L” shape. This curler is specifically made for deep-set eyes and it really works. It is also long enough to grab my corner eyelashes. Over the years, I have tried the following curlers: Shiseido, Revlon, and a different one made by Tweezerman (that I purchased at Target). The Shiseido and Tweezerman were ok – I could get close to the base but they pinched and still gave me the “L” shape. The Revlon eyelash curler was an absolute disaster – if you have hooded eyes don’t even bother. Thus, my quest began. I went to Sephora the other day and noted this curler is made for eyes like mine. I bought it for $22, which is a bit pricey, but well worth it considering that I can finally curl my eyelashes! The curler also comes with extra replacement pads – I hope Tweezerman never stops making this curler! I may need to purchase a back-up just in case.

   Side note: To hold the curl, I use Kanebo Kate mascara base (which is a Japanese product and can be purchased on Ebay). You can also use waterproof mascara or the Shiseido nourishing mascara base. Regular mascara always weighs mascara down and is a definite no-no without a good mascara base I have found. I always wonder why people down-grade regular mascara for the fact that it won’t hold a curl… regular mascara contains water and will ALWAYS weigh down your curl. I have never found a non-waterproof mascara that will keep the lift. Even when I don’t curl my eyelashes, they do have a natural bend to them, and if I just put regular mascara on them without the aforementioned bases, my eyelashes droop and by the end of the day I look really tired.

   Side note 2: I recommend the Shiseido eyelash curler to those that don’t have hooded eyes, because I could tell from using this curler that it would be great if it fit my eye (the curve it gave my eyelashes was amazing, but I couldn’t reach the base).
