The nib is TERRIBLE! So scratchy its painful to line my eyes. The tip is NOT “precise” either, its so thick and long. Hard to control, gives an ugly thick line and is impossible to get a neat wing. The formula dries as its coming out. I have a brand new pen and its acting like its almost dried up. The nib keeps sticking to my lids and then skips awkwardly leaving gaps. Difficult to fill in the gaps as its kind of dry and doens’t like to stick to itself. The cap is annoying as it doesn’t “click” to close. It just squelches in and never feels like its quite closed making me think it will dry out even faster by letting air in.
Forest Brown is a dull grey toned medium brown. Pretty much the same as Stila’s one. For me this color is an ugly sludgey tone thats been left out in the sun too long and faded. Its too light and makes my eyes look old, dull and tired. Maybe its great for people who have low contrast + cool “summer” coloring? Ash blondes with neutral (ie greyish) beige undertones? For my bright yellow pale skin and blue-green eyes its so unflattering and barely stands out on my eye. High contrast intense shades like deep black browns, soft black and jet blacks work for me really well.

Yes! This eyeliner is super easy to apply. I bought forest brown… beautiful perfect brown. Easy to apply thin line…and fix if you need a bit thicker on ends. I love the size of the tip…not super long. I’m very impressed with Maybelline!!!

Before becoming a busy working mom, I would happily spend the 50 seconds to meticulously apply a gel liner with a brush, ensuring that there was the perfect width and diligently filling in the spaces between my eyelashes. Fast foward 6 years later, this liner is my saving grace. It lets me pull a very thin line and then I can go in and color in between my eyelashes. All done one handed. And if you think that is great for a magic trick, there’s more. I go to the gym at lunch and this stuff still stays on. I don’t even wash my eye makeup off. I shower and splash my face with water. It doesn’t run and looks ah-ma-zing the rest of the day. Life saver.

Works well enough and doesn’t flake or smudge but I am not a fan of the felt tip applicator and found this one too wide for my liking. If you prefer this it’s a good liner to try out but it’s not for me. Would not repurchase.

the only thing i found good about this eyeliner is, that it’s easy to manipulate with, i really liked it for the first like three weeks or so but then it started to dry out, the pigmentation wasn’t there so much and it smudged so damn much, plus it somehow looked good for only a few hours. i bought it because my friend reccomended it to me and it was obviously such a dissapointment…

I’m new to liquid liners, and ink pens are a great start for someone like me. I’ve had this liner for two months and have been using it alot. I really like it! Easy to use, and I love that it’s more of a matt liner, I’m not a fan of the wet look. Smudges by the end of the day. But if I apply eye primer beforehand (I use Urban Decay primer potion), it stays put and doesn’t budge even after 24 hours! The only thing I don’t like about it is that it’s not waterproof (will smudge like crazy as soon as your eyes start watering). I also wish it came in other shades like blue black and dark brown. I will repurchase if I can’t find a waterproof matt ink pen liner at the same price point.
So summing up:
Pros:
-Easy to use for beginners or those with shaky hands
-Matt (I’m personally not a fan of the wet look, so this is important)
-Great pigmentation
-Budget friendly
-Doesn’t sting my sensitive eyes
-Tiny nib is perfect for tight-lining between lashes, and giving me a cleaner, more precise line.
Cons:
– Not waterproof
– Lacks a selection of shades (I wish it came in dark brown and blue black)
– Smudges at the end of the day, but I don’t mind that much, my eye primer addresses this issue superbly.

Well…I wanted to like this because of the skinny nib of the pen. But it was soooooo stiff!! Plus I had to press the liner on my eyes many times to ensure that I got any product out. There WAS product in the pen but it just didn’t flow smoothly. I only owned the liner for 3 days and went back to a better pen liner and chucked the Maybelline one in the bin. Lesson learned.

This eyeliner was quite black and I found it fairly easy to apply, although I found it feathered a bit. But it smudged like crazy. Within a couple hours, there would be gaps in the line, and there would black smudges on my brow bone. Even with eye primer, it still smudged. Definitely prefer the Stila Waterproof liner, but this one is way cheaper. So if you don’t have oily eyelids, this one may be a decent choice.

This eye-liner is so good, I’ve had mine for a while and it still hasn’t dried out. It is opaque and easy to use, works great over powder and glitter and stays on all day. Excellent product.

What a great surprise to find that this wears for 12 hours + + +
I find it has more staying power then my favorite Stila one and intense pigmentation.
I actually Tightline my upper lash line without touching skin but rather getting it right in between the lashes.
I’ve only had it for about two weeks so I’m waiting for something like maybe it will dry out too soon; if not, I’m going to be buying this one from now on. I only have tried the black (for reference).
