I’ve always loved this stuff, ever since encountering it 20 years ago at a German drugstore. The softer version (in the jar) is garbage and wears off in five minutes but the stick is amazing. Smells lovely, like roses and herbs, and goes on very moist and creamy. (It’s shiny enough to look like actual lipgloss— just an FYI if you prefer a more matte finish).
The color of the actual stick is a deep yellow, but it does not leave any tint on the lips. Some people complain that this doesn’t last long, but I find that the texture is thick enough to last an hour or two before reapplying. For severely chapped lips, I’d probably go with something like Carmex or Blistex, but the Hauschka stick is perfect for daily maintenance.
Overall, this is a luxury product designed to look, feel and smell great and to keep lips moisturized for a long time. It’s all natural and petroleum-free, if you care. Pro tip: you can get this for $8 (new and sealed) on eBay.

After seeing a celebrity makeup artist on YouTube apply this lip balm onto one of her models in a video, I hadn’t planned on buying it until I went shopping at Whole Foods. Curiosity killed the cat and I decided to purchase it.
THE GOOD: I happen to love the fragrance, which smells like roses without being cloying. It’s organic, and it doesn’t have bad for you chemicals (depending on your allergies of course). For a stick formulation vs. a jar formulation, it was quite moisturizing and I loved layering it under lipsticks. It wasn’t goopy enough that the pigment would slip and slide everywhere on top, but it was hydrating enough to keep my lips comfortable whenever I wore matte formulas.
THE NEUTRAL: The packaging could be better. It’s a twist up stick, but the formula is also quite soft so I would caution anyone living in hot weather to purchase this lip balm as it might have the propensity to break. Not what you want from a $15 lip balm.
THE BAD: It’s $15 USD. It only lasted three months on me (everyday use). For comparison, Nuxe’s Reve de Miel lasted a whole year on me with everyday usage. Carmex’s lip balm (a whopping three bucks) in a tin is still going strong for me after 11 months, even with everyday usage. I think it’s OK if a lip balm is expensive as long as it lasts a long time. This one didn’t, so the cost-value ratio is considerably lowered if the performance doesn’t exceed other products in the market.
OVERALL: A luxurious treat no doubt, but for the everyday consumer I don’t think it’s worth the splurge. I tried it because I was curious – but for those who are still curious about trying it out – don’t be surprised if it just seems like any other lip balm. It’s nice, but not *that* nice.
TL;DR It’s a lip balm that does what it’s supposed to do. But I find it flatly overpriced for what most people consider to be a staple of their beauty routine.

nope. just like their balm in the pot this left my lips dry and flaky after two days of regular use. i’ve been looking for a natural lip balm. if you have dry or flaky lips nothing beats smith’s rosebud salve–in the tin NOT the tube and original or minted only.

This is a great lip balm for your handbag or on the go, since it’s packaging keeps it sanitary. I used this for years, but now prefer more gel-like, soft lip balms in squeeze tubes like Amore Pacific and Jo Malone. That said, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lip balm, which also comes in a jar for home use.

This is a good natural chemical free moisturising lip balm, however i have found better for cheaper by Burts Bees which is now my HG all natural lip balm. As this contains oils u do see a shine on your lips which i do not like. I prefer the burts bees which is moiturising but is also matt and cheaper than this. The packaging also sucks as the lip balm inside the stick is not very stable and wobbles around as you apply. Im not saying this is a bad lip balm because it does do the job but there are better natural lip balms for cheaper out there. Check out the Burts Bees one which is amazing! Even better than the La Mer lip balm which i paid £42!

I’m on my third tube of this classic, reliable lip balm. It has a pleasant, un-sticky/un-greasy texture and a mild rose scent and taste. Great for both men and women, people of all ages. It’s not prone to melting like Fresh’s otherwise excellent lip balms are, either. Basically, it’s an idealized form of Chapstick, minus the chemicals you don’t want to ingest.
