This orange red lights up my whole face. This could be a replacement for my beloved NARS heat wave. Don’t know what took me so long to try lady danger…maybe it was the name or the aesthetic of some of the girls I’d seen raving about it. It seemed too showy for my style or something. But I’m a true convert now.

I generally save reds for winter but upon recent acquisition of some red summer clothing, I wanted a nice summery red lipstick with a warm undertone to go with my summer vibe and faux tan. So I picked up a mini of lady danger. And dang I love it. It’s all that’s been said and more. I use an orangey red liner to slightly over line my lips and fill in and it lasts very well. I’m pictured with blonde pixie and red top. I’m wearing currently about an nc43 (nw20-30 Naturally without faux tan).

Back when the orange lipstick trend first became popular (8 years ago?), I became obsessed with finding the perfect 40’s technicolor orange red lipstick: I tried MAC’s Morange, Revlon’s Siren, and UD’s Bang – all of which are shockingly neon and were terribly unflattering on my ruddy, cool-toned, pale skin. Since then I assumed I couldn’t pull off orange reds and have stayed away since. I’ve wanted to try Lady Danger for quite a while, but it always appeared too orange in photos online, so I figured it wouldn’t suit me.
Fast-forward to today, when I finally tested it out at the MAC store after reading that it’s one of Dita Von Teese’s favorites (another cool-toned pale lady)! I have to say, I’m pleasantly surprised this not only works on my skin tone, but it might be my 3rd favorite red lipstick ever! It’s as orange as I can go and it certainly packs a strong punch, but it’s not that garish neon shade I experienced with other orange/red lipsticks. I’m also surprised by how little makeup is required to pull this one off; normally I have to wear cateye liner with my red lipsticks, but as long as you even out your skin (foundation and/or powder), this one can stand on it’s own. The only issue with this one is that it’s pretty much spring/summer only and you do NOT want to accidentally smudge this outside the lip line – the application needs to be really precise. Also, with a light touch and a bit of moisturizer, this makes the perfect blush to match the lipstick!

This is definitely not for the faint of heart, it is a oragey red lipstick which stands out the most in mac line of lipsticks, in my opinion. The good thing about this color is that you can wear it, put some mascara and you’re good to go. Actually, you shouldn’t wear anything much else, or it will be overwhelming. It’s very dry, but not as dry as ruby woo. The main downside is, this one might bring the yellow in your teeth. So be sure to test it before purchasing.

This colour has been raved about with good reason. It’s a gorgeous orange red lippy. The colour looks fantastic.
The formula on the other hand leaves alot to be desired. It exaggerates every crack, crevice and lip line. I love a matte lip and wear Ruby woo with no issues and it wears beautifully . However this one is disappointing. It’s not as matte, the lipstick gets caught in my lip lines and it looks cheap and quite unflattering. I recommend purchasing from another brand if lips have lines or a tendency to be dry.

I am literally obsessed with this color right now. I received this in an ASOS Box (£12 for the box and it included a number of other products – bargain!) but I will 100% pay full price for it when it runs out.
I have light-medium skin with a slightly olive base and I was pleasantly surprised at how coral-based this red lipstick was. Coral-based red lipsticks are a very accessible, flattering form of red for most people (if you’re not sure if you want to go ‘red red’, this is definitely a great shade to try out) and for my skin tone this is one of the most flattering colors I’ve ever found – I’d even go so far as to say it beats out my all time favorite, Ruby Woo.
It’s a very bold, retro blast of color that makes me feel like I’m in the 80s. The staying power is fantastic for a non-liquid lipstick. I tend to apply just once during the day, after lunch, and once more if I have an after-work appointment.
The formula is incredibly creamy and it applies beautifully. I sometimes have a slight problem with MAC lipsticks being a little dry to apply, but that absolutely is not the case with Lady Danger. I always wear a lipliner all over my lips when I apply red lipstick, and have no issues with bleeding. The packaging is the classic black MAC lipstick design.

Sexy orange red. So classic, retro, and an iconic MAC shade. It’s a best seller for a good reason-it’s a bright, orange-red almost bright coral shade that perks up your complexion and gives you a burst of color. This is a great going out shade-and the finish lasts through dinner, drinks, and kissing. I apply it straight from the tube, but have also used a red lipliner to deeper the red tones of this orange-red lipstick. I prefer it to go redder than more orange (so I avoid orange lip liners or coral lip liners with this shade). It’s so sexy, in your face and daring. But on my NC30-NC35 skin-it warms up the complexion, brightens my look, and is highly flattering on m skin. This is not a blue-red, not a pink-red, and does not lean fuchsia like some reds I’ve tried. I absolutely love this color. I read Rihanna wears this color, as well Ruby Woo and Riri Woo (of course!) regularly. So I think this color can work on beautiful, deeper complexions than mine. Saturated, rich, beautiful.

I received this as a gift and I love this bright coral-orange-red, especially for summer. I’m paler than pale (NW15) and it perks up my complexion no end. I use a touch of it as blush, blended carefully, and it works well for that too. Makes my teeth look whiter, too!

This is probably my absolute favourite shade of lipstick. The bright orange red tone looks great against my olive skin. My only issue I had with this lipstick is that it can be quite drying on my lips, but now days i either dab a tiny bit of lip balm before I apply it or put a layer of a cheaper orange lipstick to protect my lips before applying this on top. It still stays on most of the day and holds up quite well when I eat.

This color is LIFE. I heard RuPaul compliment Michelle Visage on it on their podcast and it is such a good orange red. Long wearing, great formula, A+. I just wish I could find a lipstick close to this that was also cruelty free.
