I used to be a matte kind of girl, but now I can say that this lipstick has had a hand in changing my mind. I’m gravitating towards more lustrous lipsticks that are moisturizing and this is the perfect combination. I have it in Claret, which is just the perfect pinkish red. I don’t have to use any lip balm at all when using this which makes it easy when you’re reapplying.

i’ve had my eye on this formula for a while, so decided to pick up a couple during the friends and family sale event (in ‘bobbi’ and ‘beige gold’). i really like them both. yes, the packaging quality needs to improve (especially for the full price of this lipstick!), but overall this is a great lipstick! VERY moisturizing, sheer color. bobbi is a beautiful mauve/brown which is pretty much MLBB, and beige gold is exactly as named. beige gold is fairly shiny/iridescent, so you have to like that frosty look (which i do) to appreciate its beauty. with the hot summer months coming up, i can see myself in these colors all summer long. another hit from the bobbi brown lipstick family.

i love the scent of these, but its pretty much it.
They go on beautifully, however dried my lips out severely after a few hours, i tried to give it another run, but ended up with chapped lips.
so odd when they go on moist and plump in the beginning. in comparison the BB Luxe lip color is less drying for me.
i bought these in the shades island pink and pink pop.
price point on the high side for such a small lipstick as well.
will not repurchase

Bobbi Brown has done it again. I love the moisturizing, slightly glossy formula in these – it reminds me of MAC’s Cremesheen lipsticks. I got this in Blue Raspberry, Desert Rose and Claret (NC35/NW25). I’m so impressed with the color payoff, since one swipe is enough to last (at least for me) a couple hours. After eating, it left a nice stain on my lips and kept my lips as hydrated as a lipstick typically does. It’s no lip balm, but it keeps the dryness to a minimum. I wear invisaligns, and these don’t rub off on my braces either, which is a nice plus. Not sure why everyone complains about Bobbi Brown’s color line, but I’ve always found several that have worked for me and they have very quickly become my favorite makeup brand.

I have this in Claret and Rose Petal. On my pigmented lips, Claret is a really pretty rosy red – natural but noticeable. Rose Petal is a natural looking medium pink. I have dry lips in general and these are the most pigmented lipsticks that I can apply without lip balm and not feel miserable. Definitely worth a shot if you love lip color but hate having dry lips. The formula is a touch heavy – particularly without balm underneath – but I still think I’ll be buying this in more colors!

I have this in desert rose and its lovely, it’s my go to everyday lipstick. It lasts surprisingly well and really does moisturise the lips. I keep meaning to pick up another one in a more pink/nude shade.

I got this is Ballerina Pink. It’s a gorgeous everyday peachy pink. Glides on beautiful delivering the perfect amount, no need to mess around with a lip brush. First BB lipstick I’ve bought and I’ll definitely be buying again!

I got this in blush which adds the tiniest bit of oomph to my pigmented lips. Nice amount of moisture that lasts and there is the slightest bit of shimmer – pretty. This is for sports so the colour and texture fit the bill. However I realize that if I had the patience I could search through every single tinted lip balm colour in the drug store that would even have SPF and get the same result.
UPDATE: I’m lowering the rating to a 3 because, as another reviewer said, the colour is more nude than pink (looks like it’s missing something). Many of the softer BB shades go in that direction. I can only think that she uses herself too much as a reference point.

I was looking for an everyday lipstick formula in polished, not too bright shades, that feels comfortable on my lips and whose packaging holds up well when toted around daily in my purse. In the Nourishing lipsticks I found several shades that fit that bill. I bought Blush, Desert Rose and Ballet Pink. The first two have good color payoff, whereas Ballet Pink is a sheer lighter peachy pink which adds just a hint of color. Staying power of this formula is medium, 2 hours on my lips without eating. I’d call that wear time ok for a moisturizing lipstick. It is emollient enough so I don’t need to apply lip balm underneath it and feels good on my lips. Blush and Desert Rose are two pinky mauves, with Desert Rose being a bit darker than Blush, with just a hint of brown. Because there isn’t too much brown they look natural, fresh and classic, perfect for the office. The Nourishing line also has a few brighter shades that swatched very well on the back of my hand, so for anyone looking for more impact there are some options. For my pigmented lips and light skin tone (NW15) the Ballet Pink is a bit too sheer, but I would repurchase Desert Rose and Blush. The packaging is compact and sleek with a slanted opening which allows for easy application right from the tube. On the Bobbi Brown website photo the Nourishing lipstick tube appears to be a matte black which I would have preferred because matte tends to hold up better, but in fact it is a shiny black surface. I have used mine for two months now and they have held up well. Years ago, Bobbi Brown offered a somewhat similar product called the Lip Shines SPF15 (which were discontinued pretty quickly) in a round sleek metal tube. However, that formula was greasy with minimal color payoff and wear time. So I find that this formula is a big improvement and I’ve enjoyed wearing it. Quite pricey, at $28 for only 0.08 oz/2.3 g, whereas BB’s regular lipsticks contain 50% more 0.12 oz/3.4 g at currently $27.

I love that this lip stick doesn’t dry out my lips. It stays on longer than most and I love the way it looks. It is a bit pricey but for some one with very dry lips it’s nice to find a lip color that doesn’t dry my lips out even more yet also isn’t too glossy. It isn’t moisturizing enough that I can use it without first using treatment or at least chapstick but I do have unusually dry lips. Overall I’m very happy with it.
