   I have tried all the comparable brow products, from Benefit to Glossier to W3ll People and beyond. Although they vary in amount and price, they are somewhat comparable but Hourglass Cosmetics Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel is by far my favorite, even if it is a bit more expensive then the rest.

   First let me explain that although this product costs more than the others, there is absolutely no waste at all, which is huge as all the others need their brush wiped before use because too often with these cosmetics way to much product gets deposited onto the brush. For other brands, the amount lost is painful to see, but not wiping the brush leads to Groucho Marx brows which nobody wants.

   The Hourglass brush picks up little makeup and applies with a light hand which I love. It adds volume to the hairs without leaving makeup on your brow skin, perfect for wispy, feathery brows that I prefer instead of filling in to the point of Sharpy Brows which I don’t find flattering on me.

   I also find this brush, attached to the cap, is easy to hold, unlike Gimme Brow which has a novelty shape but it is small and difficult to clutch without getting a cramp in my hand, especially with the tiny mini tube from Benefit.

   I would go a shade darker in this Hourglass formula, my second purchase for this is in the darkest shade, number 4 that works well with my dark brown hair, a shade darker than my first fiber gel.

   This is the first time I have totally finished a brow product. All the others I have tried have been ok but I sought out others to try before completely finishing a tube of anything until now. Although I am fond of trying new things in general I don’t see myself finding a new HG brow product. This one is perfect for my needs. I can back comb my brows until they are thick and wild if I so choose, a look hard to achieve with other products, or one can simply comb through their hairs for added definition. This brow gel is perfect for anyone who wants to keep their brows wispy and feathery. I hope this product is never discontinued!

   I’ve read the other reviews and can attest that perhaps this gel isn’t quite ideal for sparse brows. I have thicker brows and have fallen head over heels for this product! The price is appalling especially for how little product you get, but damn does this coat my brows perfectly and give great hold.

   Think about why you like or dislike a mascara – I personally go for the ones that really grip on to each lash and coats them without weighing them down or getting them too watery. This brow gel is THAT product but for your brows. You won’t be able to paint on the skin beneath your brows with this product because it’s not a super wet formula, but your actual brow hairs will be colored, lifted, thickened and groomed immaculately. My favorite way of using this gel is by laying down some brow powder/pencil to fill in base color and then applying this for a “this is not a glob of color masquerading as a brow, this is all hair” look. I really enjoy the long bristle side for fluffing up the inner brow corners too. The end effect is really *chef’s kiss* model off duty soft bushy brow perfection, it’s the anti Instagram block brows product.

   But honestly, Hourglass really is stupid expensive and I may go back to ole faithful Boy Brow after my spicy tryst ends. It’s 0.1oz – 0.01 less than Boy Brow which is already puny – for $28. We’ll see.

   Surprised by the lack of love for this gel. I do like Hourglass in general and this doesn’t disappoint. Packaging is beautiful and the dark brunette shade was a good match. I have naturally black hair and anything darker would look too severe on me. Funny I thought it leaned on slightly cool than warm. Kept my brows nice and sleek in a natural, put together way. Maybe skip this if you’re going for big and bold brows. I like the short wand for control and the dual sided bristles let me vary my application along the length of my brows – for example the longer bristles to sweep through and the shorter side to add more pigment/intensity. The size of the brush head is on the smaller side which I like because I found it more precise. Application around 7am lasts me through the evening (about 13 hours). My only complaint is that it’s really expensive for the amount that you get.

   Love this in Soft Brunette, looks so natural but still “done”… like Glossier boy brow but better shades & w/o the douchey advertising

   I like the exterior packaging and the brush. I got the soft brunette. I hoped it would be a medium ash brown, but and it’s sort of a taupey color that would be better suited to blondes. The brush was great for putting the hairs into place, but the product doesn’t have any hold — they looked disheveled within 30 minutes.

   Hate to say this, but Hourglass arch just isn’t worth the money. My brows are full in the front, with some spareness in the arch and tail end. I didn’t really notice and fibers in this, and the shape of the brush head is odd and make it a bit difficult to apply. The brush head is barrel shaped on one side, and more of a comb on the other. Personally I find tapered brow brushes like the one on NYX brow mascara work better for shaping. I like the shade soft brown over NYX because the NYX ones does lean red if you have super ashy brown brows like myself. At nearly $30USD my expectations were higher, this just does not do a lot to fill in sparse areas. Honestly I would just recommend NYX over this, costs a quarter of what this does and works better.

   (My rating is actually 2.5 lippies).

   I have two words to describe this product: “meh” and “disappointing”.

   I just have to mention something first. The Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in the shade Ash is my holy grail eyebrow pencil – it is an ashy, dark-brown colour that has a hint of cool grey. It’s the perfect balance between my extremely sparse, dark grey eyebrows and my dark-brown hair that turns a red-brown under sunlight. That horrible combination of cool eyebrows and warmer hair makes it extremely difficult to find any eyebrow product that looks natural (until the pencil in Ash came along – I currently have two backups in my drawer).

   When I saw that the brand who makes my holy grail eyebrow product just released an eyebrow gel with fibers, I was so excited. I’ve been dreaming of somehow getting fluffy, full eyebrows in under 3 minutes and I hoped that this eyebrow gel would be the one to grant me my wish. I was so devasted when I realized they had no Ash shade for their eyebrow gel, and all of the other shades seemed way too light or too warm. However, I still really wanted to try this so I ordered this in the shade Dark Brunette as soon as I could. Unfortunately, it seems like I get the short end of the stick again.

   Just as I had guessed, Dark Brunette was too warm. It was a dark brown with a slight hint of red and it looked really off among my dark grey eyebrow hairs. I even emailed Hourglass’s customer service to see if they had any plans of releasing more shades (especially a dark, ashy brown) and they said no. This was a big disappointment, but as well as not having a colour match, this product also didn’t work that well for me anyways.

   This eyebrow gel is housed in a very luxurious looking, sturdy metal tube that looks perfect for this price point ($34 CAD) – no complaints there for me. Though the amount of product you get is minuscule (3 mL/0.1 oz.) for the price. The applicator wand of this is basically the same as the new wand for the Anastasia BH Tinted Brow Gel – half of it has short bristles, the other half has longer bristles. It is quite big like the ABH brow gel wand too (but thankfully, this eyebrow gel doesn’t have random glitter in it). The size of the wand makes applying the gel really messy and hard to control. I always have to have a cotton bud on hand to wipe away the gel that smears outside of my eyebrows.

   The gel goes on so patchy for me, especially for the areas of my eyebrows where I have huge gaps that are practically just skin, no hair. When I try to go in and build it up, the product just moves around and continues skipping over the area that I want to cover. It’s really bizarre. Also, there is barely any point in having the word “fiber” in the name when there are barely any fibers in the formula. I barely notice any fibers on the wand, on my eyebrows, or in the product left on the tube opening – there are a few, I guess, but definitely not enough to live up to the “fiber” part of the name. However, I have to say that the hold of this eyebrow gel is pretty good.

   Overall, this is a pretty mediocre eyebrow gel for the high price. If you have fuller eyebrows, this might work better for you. If you have sparse eyebrows like me where the tails of your eyebrows only have a few hairs, then I don’t think you should count on this product doing much. They should really make the applicator a lot smaller, add a huge amount of fibers into the formula, and add more ashy shades – then they will have a great product on their hands. Personally, I’m going to stick to my trusty eyebrow pencil and I am not going to repurchase this anytime soon.
