I love this mascara, 2 coats and it’s beautiful, goes on nicely, separates my lashes and making them look extremely long. BUT it smudges. Apart from this I love it, but won’t be buying again for this reason.

Meh. It’s ok. I don’t look like I have a million lashes, it doesn’t catch every lash, the brush is too big and it’s hard to get to those little inner corner lashes, and the formula is very wet. If you blink before it dries, you will have lots of little black flecks around your eyes to clean up. My lashes look ok when I’m done, but believe me, nothing to fall down and wet your pants about. I find other L’Oréal mascaras to be far superior, like the regular Voluminous, or Telescopic.

This is my favourite mascara at the moment. It is inexpensive, but does a great job of separating the lashes, thickening and lengthening with a nature (but better) look. My one complaint is that is tends to smudge under my eyes a bit throughout the later part of the day, but I have the same issue with most mascaras.

I was searching for a drugstore dupe for the wonderful (but crazy expensive) le Volume de Chanel Noir. This mascara popped up as a possibility. has a good texture and rich black color. The brush is SOMEWHAT similar in design and that’s where the comparison ends. This doesn’t build nearly as much volume as Chanel and it smudges. Oh, L’Oreal…how I have loved your trusted mascaras…but this is disappointing! Unless I wear it over a primer or with a waterproof topper I get awkward smudges all underneath my eyes. If you have somewhat long lashes and oily skin, you know the struggle. Back to the interwebs I go…

I have extremely long natural eyelashes (go ahead, hate me) but they are very fair and therefore need a deep colour, low clump mascara. I usually avoid anything with the word “volume” in it – I need definition, not volume – but the plastic brush is great at separating lashes. The thin tip makes it easier to get those corner lashes as well.
Mostly, I love that it’s super easy to find in the mornings because of its shiny gold colour ???? Much easier than the standard black tube.

Excellent mascara!! Make my lashes long, thick and fanned out! Does not flake and easily washes off with soap (cerave) and water!

It was a wet, clustered and flaking mess, brand new, upon first opening it and pulling out the wand. This mascara is gravely overhyped and talked up, because I don’t see the pay off. Beautiful packaging, nice brush for separating and splitting clumped lashes but otherwise there isn’t any remarkable volume, lengthening or drama to the lashes.

I was in a crunch, so picked this up at CVS. It didn’t really do anything except darken lashes. No discernible volume. For reference, I have black lashes and loved Dior Maximeyes (discontinued). Currently use Ciate Wonderwand, which is terrific except for the wet/messy application. Will return Voluminous.

For the last couple of years I would spend a pretty penny on Benefit They’re Real Mascara. It’s a bit pricey and kind of hard to remove, though, so I decided I wanted to try something else. I did a google search on the best drugstore mascaras and Loreal Voluminous Lashes showed up. The wand made me feel compelled to try this mascara. It’s similar to BTR, being that it’s a straight wand covered in super fine bristles so that you can coat each individual lash while still creating volume. Another thing I really like about this mascara is how the Waterproof version STAYS PUT but also ISN’T impossible to remove like a lot of waterproof mascaras. If I didn’t know this was Loreal, I would think it would be a higher end brand. Lastly, it seems to hold curl really well so I am able to get this doll eyed look with super long, defined eyelashes. They practically look fake. Gorgeous. If you are wondering whether or not it’s worth the $8 price point., the answer is YES.

This mascara was super disappointing. I used to really like the original Voluminous, but this one didn’t live up to the original. The packaging is pretty, and that is a point in its favor, but overall this is just a very basic mascara with a silicone brush to help eliminate clumpiness. It is nothing to write home about at all.
