Another 10/10 MAC blush! I am nw10 or clinique alabaster and when used sparingly this blush is lovely. I only need to lightly swirl my brush in it then apply and it blends out really well. I apply with a MAC 168 and blend out with a Real Techniques blush brush. It lasts as well.
Had 5 years and not hit pan (I use about 4 different MAC blush – owned them all for 4-5 yrs).

This blush is the perfect one!

The shade Desert Rose didn’t work for me at all. A perfect dupe for having rosacea, or maybe a fever. Returned.

I love all the MAC blushes that I’ve tried and I love this one too. Dusty Rose describes the shade perfectly.

The color of this blush is beautiful! If you have a medium skin tone then you should check this out. Unfortunately, this blush has an ingredient that gives me pimples. I think the culprit is bismuth oxychloride. I usually look at mineral makeup for this ingredient and never thought it would be in a matte blush, but after a few breakouts I checked and it was.

A lovely, high-quality matt blush. The shade, I think, will fit many skin shades and tones. It’s a lovely, natural shade that makes you look more “fresh”. It’s a quite pigmented blush, so you have to be carefull not to overdo it. It stays pretty much all day. Great, sturdy packaging.

The packaging is SO professional and i love to display this product in my collection! Just take care of it because it doesn’t look as good when it’s aged.
It does last all day, which is one thing I really love about this product. The pigment is so warm! It leaves you with a natural warm rose look which to me, compliments any eye color. It has no scent, which i don’t really mind, it doesn’t affect the way its applied. It’s extremely soft and easy to apply. It feels amazing on the skin!
HINT- When applying, dont forget to dust out your brush before sweeping onto the cheek area. If there’s too much on the brush, your face would look WAY TOO REDish and it would look quite unnatural.
ENJOY YOUR PRODUCT!! I recommend it to everyone looking for a new blusher to try 🙂

Such a risqué color for my fair complexion, but I just love it! For me, it gives very natural look without glitter or shimmer (although there is tiny shimmer in the pan, you can barely see any specs on skin).
Pros:
– pigmented
– looks natural on my fair skin ( I have cool undertone, so my natural blush is rosey pink)
– not powdery
– works well with any brushes
– blends like a charm
– lasts the whole day and fades nicely
– price
Cons:
– packaging is kinda cheap
– can become very dramatic very fast especially if you are fair, so make sure to start with the tiniest amount
I love all my powder face products to be pigmented, and this one is one of my faves. It is very easy to use because it doesn’t require building up the color. If you are into this kind of colors and pigmented blushes, I recommend it

I bought this in September and I hated it. In the packaging it loked like it had an amazing dark rosy burgundy color, which on my skin looked like I was a clown. Now that it is winter, and I learnt to apply it more gently 😛 it works perfect and it’s become my everyday blush..
Pros:
Love the color. It’s very pigmented, so if you’re someone with light skin apply it very light handed!!
Since you have to apply very little it lasts forever.
Its price (around 5 euros)
It lasts 6 hours at least if I use setting spray.
Not shimmery
Cons:
The pachaging looks cheap.

This is lovely! Perfect pink color for me. Barely need to get any on a brush before it shows up on my face. This might be my new go-to everyday blush!

I agree with the 2 reviews below – except I haven’t had any issues with packaging. This may look a bit overwhelming in the pan but it is gorgeous on girls with dark hair. My skin is about NC20-25 right now and this looks like a natural “just came in from the cold” flush. It’s very pigmented so use a light hand and build it up if you need too. This lasts about 7 hours on my skin and then I have to touch up. Looks great on darker skin as well, my friend who is an NC45 looks so cute wearing this blush. More pigmented than my Lancome blush, which I have to put on like 2 layers to even notice, and has no annoying scent like the Lancome.
The blush is soft, long-lasting, very pigmented, applies evenly and is easy to pick up on your brush – no complaints!

The reason I love this blush so much is because this colour is in my cheeks before I apply foundation, so it looks really natural (as long as you are light-handed).
It has a few shimmer particles in it, but these are undetectable on the cheeks. It has a matte finish. In my opinion, this blush looks lovely with dark hair and pale skin. Perfect wind-bitten autumn/winter colour.
Since this is so densely pigmented, it is fantastic value for money.

Looks scary in the pan and if you are a ppp a light hand is needed. The packaging is terribly cheap; another nyx blush fell apart. But this is a great,” just come in from the cold”, blush.

Shade description: bright deep pink
Pros
– pigmented
– long wearing
– matte
Cons
– must be careful with application – highly pigmented!
Comments: Wow. This is a lot brighter than I expected. It’s so pigmented, so use a light hand. A little goes a very long way. I’m almost afraid to use this. Lol. It’s gorgeous though and stays put.
Will repurchase.

I LOVE this color and have used it for years and now, they discontinued it. So SICK of companies discontinuing popular products.

Well, I called BB and talked with a sales rep. I have brown hair, hazel eyes, fair skin with neutral undertones, do not wear foundation (only a bit of concealer) and prefer a very natural look.
DESERT ROSE was THE answer, and I have to say the sales gal was spot on. She told me to blend down my face (us older gals typically don’t do this), and I also use it like a bronzer moving up and around my face. It looks subtle, and blends the redness in my skin and makes a natural glow without feeling like a heavy powder.
This is a “go to” product as it allows my redness in my face to stay as is, I use concealer under eyes and around my nose, and then blend with this gorgeous blush / bronzer. I add a touch of a brighter color to pop on my lids. I will also use this color as an accent on my eyes, to blend with a bland eye shadow
Its a customer fav, so WHY IS IT DISCONTINUED ?
Good for me, I have several stacked up in my make up area, and I don’t wear make up daily so it will last a few years until I find a substitute
With so many that LOVE the desert rose color, why is it discontinued ?

I am NC20, Fair, warm skinned chinese girl. I have an obsession with blushes because I like making my face look healthy and more colored. I used to try to like shimmery blushes like the much talked about NARS Orgasm, but after years I realized that it gives me too much radiance to my already radiant (or, oily) skin. I started lusting after matte blushes that wasn’t red or pink (I am prone to have redness on my face) If I were to choose blush, I would choose a peachy-pink instead or something else.
I LOVE my Shiseido Petal, which is pinky-peach, but then I was looking for a more sophisticated, natural, but warm blush that would make me look very healthy. Desert Rose is it. The SA in BB tried this on me and I fell in love, it’s SO flattering on warm skintones and it doesn’t look like you are wearing makeup, the blush MELTS into skin (blending well) instead of sitting on top like the MAC blushes I own. (No more MAC blushes for me!!!)
Bottom line: If you are oily and warm fair-skinned and love matte blushes, you need this, and shiseido petal.

This is my all time favourite blush, for reference I’m nc25-nc30. The blush is quite small and extremely expensive in NZ ($79) but it lasts and lasts. The colour is a gorgeous matte and very natural mauvey pink which goes with everything. Desert Rose manages to brighten my face up and give me a pretty flush and I think it would look lovely on paler skin too. I also think it would compliment berry or purple based lipsticks like MAC Plumful and Rebel very well. Pigmentation is good, packaging is sturdy and this does not break me out.

This is a lovely blush. I have a very pale complexion and find that this is a perfect blush for everyday use. I tend to wear a more peach coloured blush at the weekends but I love this one for the weekdays. Its a very pretty colour. I have taken one point off as it doesn’t last the whole day but then I am lazy and should reapply!

For reference, I wear BB “Warm Ivory” foundation, am Latina, and have very fair “lukewarm” olive complexion. I also have some redness from rosacea. My coloring is the type where I usually need a warm-toned yellow foundation but cool-toned cosmetics (red, pink, mauve, plum cool beige or taupe) to look healthy and attractive.
Extremely dissatisfied with this product and with poor customer service. I went to the BB counter looking for a nice matte pink blush. The SA got all “professional” with me, insisting I’d look better in Tawny “to help neutralize the redness” in my cheeks.
Tawny looked horrible, very bronze and unnatural. Again, I requested a cooler, rosier blush. The SA held up the Desert Rose against the Tawny and insisted I shouldn’t go any cooler than that. Compared to Tawny, Desert Rose looks pink so I bought it.
Desert Rose makes me look worse than sunburnt. Instead it looks like FAKE BRUSHED-ON SUNBURN! More a brownish-pinky-peach than anything else. It appears to be good quality with a nice matte finish, but the lovely natural matte effect is ruined by the obvious unnatural color. The only way to make it suitable is to layer a cooler pink or plum blush on top of it to “cool” the color down. I dislike layering products and I feel strongly I didn’t get my $’s worth. BB cosmetics are too expensive to waste $ on unflattering, unwearable colors.
At home, I contacted the on-line MUA at bobbibrowncosmetics.com and explained the problem. Instead of offering me any type of assistance to exchange the product for a true pink blush, the MUA suggested I purchase bronzer — and GLITTERY BRONZER at that — “to help warm up” my complexion to better suit the blush. I am in my forties, I don’t like bronzer, and have no intention of buying/wearing bronzer. I explained to the MUA multiple times I was uninterested in a makeup look featuring bronzed skin with sunburned blush and I wanted a true pink blush. The MUA insisted the bronzer was the way to go.
Q: Why do I pay more $ for expensive, department store cosmetics?
A: I’m paying for service and assistance. No department store makeup line has any products meriting their inflated costs. What justifies the expense is access to expertise and assistance. If the SA’s are determined to disregard my specific requests for particular colors of makeup and insist on selling me things I dislike, I may as well not shop there.
BB has lost all my interest at this point. Following this unpleasant experience, I visited the NYX cosmetics website and purchased several lovely blushes in beautiful, rosy pink and mauve. In future I will be sampling the Laura Mercier foundation line.
The Desert Rose blush is a great choice for people with distinctly warm coloring. If the blush gives you a sallow (yellowy) appearance, or looks like a burn or a rash, it’s not right for you.

THis is a really great colour complements skin tone and is nice and light not too over the top. I wear it for a subtle rosy hint of colour. Really lasts.

Great blush as all MAC blushes are. I would probably not repurchase only due to the color. I am fair (nc20-25) and I think this color is too dark for me. It is a very pigmented blush and it is easy for me to apply too much. If I apply VERY lightly it does look good. It gives me a flush of color when applied correctly but I prefer MAC’s stay pretty prolong wear blush. I would recommend this to medium and darker skin tones. Aside from the color, this is a great blush. It is very pigmented and stays on the skin all day. I don’t think I will ever hit pan on this since I have to use so little of it. Mac blushes are a little pricey ($22 I think) but so worth it!

I got this blush a while ago now and has lasted me ages!! I love it for nights out as I prefer matte blushes for on a night out for some reason! It lasts okay on the skin, not amazingly but I don’t have many powder blushes that stay on all day without a retouch. Beautiful colour which looks great on my fair skin! A good blush, could probably get a cheap one for the same quality but still good, nothing to rave about.
grudgingSardines4
Great low-key, natural matte color. Good for any occasion. I’m not great at applying blush and I feel like I can’t really mess this color up.

I really don’t know why people waste money on expensive blushes when NYX makes ones of terrific quality, in a wonderful array of colors. I bought Desert Rose on a whim–I was just struck by how pretty the color was in the pan. It’s a gorgeous matte burgundy-pink. It’s a truly unique color. I was worried it would be too dark for my NW15 skin, but it just needs to be applied with a very light touch–this blush is really pigmented! It also lasts and lasts! It’s my third NYX powder blush and I continue to be delighted with their products.

I had finally come to the end of my Cargo Mendocino blush, and wasn’t really wanting to spend the $$ to repurchase, despite the fact that I love the color. So off to Ulta I went.
After looking at Maybelline, Revlon and L’Oreal, I wasn’t finding the color I wanted in a powder blush (cream blushes don’t work on me).
So I wandered to the NYX section, really looking at their eyeliners (which I love) and decided what the heck, maybe they have a good blush, and lo and behold, I found this!
I LOVE hot pink blushes. I know I need a light hand, but they always give me a great pop of color, a good flush and just really make the look complete. So I purchased this.
I have a big fluffy blush brush from Crown brushes that I use, it’s awesome- and with this blush a little goes a long way. It’s blendable- I use it on top of my powder that I use to set my makeup. I love the price, I love the color, I have no complaints with the packaging- it’s small and portable and closes securely.
NYX overall has been a great brand, and I was not disappointed with my blush purchase! I will definitely repurchase, and I may even try branching out to try another color- I tend to use one blush only, but who knows!!! LOL

This was one of my first NYX purchases. I was on a trip to the States and since there’s no NYX where I live, I picked up a few blushes and some lipsticks.
I’m really impressed with the quality of their products for the price. This blows MAC blushes out of the water – sorry MAC, not going back to you. :o)
There were 25 colors for me to choose from at Ulta and I have to say, I was really overwhelmed! I wanted to buy all of them (haha) but settled on two that I didn’t have in my blush collection. This was one of them.
Desert Rose didn’t look like anything I’d seen, especially at such a cheap price. It’s warm red, brown, plum, pink and matte. Awesome.
I’m a MAC NC 35-40 and was worried it may be a bit too dark but took the plunge anyway as I figured a touch would do it. And I was right! This is very pigmented and really wakes up my skin in the dead winter. I don’t even need bronzer with this as it sculpts my cheekbones well.
It is indeed easy to go overboard even with a light hand but will probably look better in the summer when I’m darker BUT I don’t see this as a summer color, will try it out then and report back.
One con I would like to mention is the blendability. I’m still working with it. I must put powder on after my foundation and before blush with this – instead of foundation then blush then powder. It’s not really a con but more my application technique I think.
I can’t get this to “stick” to the apples of my cheeks without piling it on. I sweep it on with a kabuki brush or a tapered blush brush and find that it gets on the high points of my cheeks (the sides) and the temples but not the apple.. hmm. I was confused at first, thinking it was just the lighting so I swept more on but it didn’t look as good unless I turned my head – so I kind of had blush on the hollows of my cheeks but not the apple. Confusing but I hope you follow what I mean.
Anyway, I’ll try it with other brushes and see if there’s a difference.
Another con is the packaging. I move my makeup around on my dresser a lot and being clumsy I’m afraid that this will break and I’ll have a powdery mess to clean up. One lippie off for that but if they jack up the price for better packaging – ehh, I’d still buy this one for cheaper because I’m cheap heh. I did drop it once on the floor and I’m happy to say nothing happened. Phew.
I like the amount you get for the price but this isn’t suitable for travel in my makeup bag.
Which brings me to my next point – the longevity is excellent! It wears a long time on my oily skin!! I’m so happy about that. It’s still on at the end of my work day.
Would I buy this again? Most definitely. NYX blushes are on my wishlist!
