I do not obtain the buzz of this product. I have bigger pores on my cheeks and also have actually tried many primers. Youtubers enjoy this things as well as when Sephora was providing a cost-free mini trial size, I jumped at the opportunity to try this. The trial package is definitely ADORABLE! I have to use two guides for my pores: EL idealist pore reducing skin refinisher under moisturizer and then Smashbox initial guide prior to foundation. This is the only combination that helps me to diminish my pores. You can still see them, however the combo assists.
Smell: the product does have a scent like a balm. It is not offending, but I prefer no scents, however attempted it anyhow.
I did one side of my confront with Smashbox and the various other with Tatcha. My pores with the Smashbox side looked much better. I waited 5 mins, then 10 minutes, then 15 mins, Smashbox side still looked much better. Even after a lengthy day of makeup, Smashbox side looked much better.
PRO: adorable container
DISADVANTAGE: pricey, so so on pores, has scent, unusual container

I locate it interesting that many articles do not recognize the item IS NOT silicone-based however rather is silk based, Likewise, it is EXCEPT oily skin– hence– all the bad testimonials. It is a moisturizing product– as well as, if you utilize too much, certainly, it woill show as well as separate make-up

Made my structure separate and also slip straight off. Entirely purposefully, pricey as well as overhyped. Grateful it was just a sample. Would certainly never ever acquire the full size.

I do not get the hype of this product. I have enlarged pores on my cheeks and have tried so many primers. Youtubers love this stuff and when Sephora was offering a free mini trial size, I jumped at the opportunity to try this. The trial package is absolutely ADORABLE! I have to use two primers for my pores: EL idealist pore minimizing skin refinisher under moisturizer and then Smashbox original primer before foundation. This is the only combo that works for me to shrink my pores. You can still see them, but the combo helps.
Smell: the product does have a smell like a balm. It is not offensive, but I prefer no scents, but tried it anyway.

PRO: cute container
CON: expensive, so so on pores, has scent, weird container

I find it interesting that most posts do not realize the product IS NOT silicone-based but rather is silk based, Also, it is NOT for oily skin–hence–all the bad reviews. It is a moisturizing product–and, if you use too much, of course, it woill show and break up makeup

Made my foundation break up and slip right off. Completely purposefully, overpriced and overhyped. Glad it was only a sample. Would never buy the full size.

I had no breakouts before using this product. I used it 3 times and now have large (painful) cystic acne under my nose and on my chin.

After reading all the reviews that speak of this product in a negative light I thought I would respond. I am 54 female, post menopausal with dry skin. If I do not cream and oil daily my skin feels so tight that it hurts to smile. That being said, I think that my skin type is what this product was made for!!! I use the little measuring disk, but only apply enough that the beginning of the scrape barely touches the line. I wouldn’t dare fill that whole area up – it would be too much, too emollient. (Yes, there is such a thing!!) I place this product in small dots around my face and begin patting it in. There is no “white” color, it is dewy and smooth yet not slippery. I use the Estee Lauder Skin Perfectionist foundation and find that this primer plays well with it. Did I mention that I top this with some of Anastasia of BH Dewy Set setting spray? Talk about an emollient set of products. My skin feels and looks lovely and alive. After years of using mat products and mourning my youth I have found something that feels good and helps me to look good too!!! Don’t give up on it…..

Soo much hype over this primer and I am not really sure why. The pot of product is awkward and the primer gets caught under my finger nails. It is expensive and it didn’t do much for me as far as making my makeup last longer or look better. My thinking is that an expensive beauty product should work really well when in fact, I found that my foundation separated as well as my concealer (both which I use all the time) My NYX Angel Veil primer works way, way better for a fraction of the price of the silk canvas. Returned it.

Well…I love make up alley because only here you can really find honest reviews. I think the score that this primer has here is very fair! I came to the store today especially just to try this primer. I couldn’t believe it when I finally did. I thought it is a joke! Grease in the jar- that’s what it is. Blurring whaaaaaaaaat??? I have combination to normal skin far from oily now and this “primer” didn’t not blur even one pore. Maybe people with superrtrrrrr dry skin love it but blurring? No way! The price is also joke. ! Yes hype is a big deal and I guess only because of hype people buy it. Any cheap silicone primer will blur better then this one!

I’m surprised by the low ratings in general. I’m in agreement with a minority of reviewers who find it effective. I found that it helped blur under eye lines, crinkles (laugh lines) and the marionette lines running from nose to mouth. It goes on somewhat mat, but not dead, and this mat effect lasts about 4 hours, just the length of a dinner engagement, or half of a working day.
I think it would work best for normal or combination skin which has light to moderate wrinkling ( not deep furrows).
I don’t see it holding back a lot of oil for those with oily or very oily skin, and I don’t see the mat finish flattering people with dry or very dry skin.
But for me, it works well, and I would use it for either daytime or evening.
**BTW, my skin has rosacea, and is break-out prone, so the jury is not in yet whether long term use will cause problems. So for now 4 stars, till I see how it goes, and then if no breakouts, will upgrade to 5 stars.

Luckily got a travel size of this. I got it to try to keep foundation on my nose but it didn’t work. I prefer less silicon one but it was very silky. Probably good for dry skin but not oily.

I don’t really use primer, so my experience is limited more so than with other products. That being said….
Pros
– Blended easily into the face. It had a bit of a silicone-y feeling, which is not a pro and not really con either.
Cons
– I didn’t find my makeup looked any better or stayed on longer when using this. If it doesn’t deliver on that, then what exactly is the point of primer?
I will test this out a bit more and update.
