Used a sample size in the shower this morning. It felt great and fresh but then … My face turned BRIGHT red, like I’d gotten a sunburn yesterday. I’m now sitting here in a calming mask. I definitely don’t recommend this product for any reason.

I concur – this product is terrible and DO NOT USE IT!
I received a sample of this with my MECCA order and used it in the evening. The next morning I woke up with what looked like a giant inflamed pimple between my eyebrow. 1 day later it is the size of an olive, very itchy, doubled in size, inflamed and very dry.
I had never reacted like this before to any product. The company needs to review its formulations asap before other people get burned! Will NEVER purchase any of their products!!

Terrible product would never purchase this product again. Cause my face to dry out, swell, and go stated that it looked like it had a burn. Should be taken off the market

This is my first review ever, but I really want to warn people out there. Please read this before buying it!
If you’re considering buying this product: DO NOT DO IT! As so many others before me has written, this product made my skin so irritated. I used it one night before bed, and it felt so good at first (clean and fresh). When I woke up the next morning, I felt that my face was hot. I looked in the mirror and got really scared. My face was red, itchy, burning and swollen. I had hundreds of little “bumps” all over, and it only got worse as the hours went by. The next morning it was even worse, so I had to go see my doctor. She told me that it didn’t look like a allergic reaction (I don’t remember what she said it was), and that just proves that some of the stuff in this cleanser should not be in there. My doctor prescribed a hydrocortisone cream for me, which helped after a few days.
My skin has never reacted like this before to ANY other products. I do not understand how they are still selling this sh*t when so many have had a bad reaction to it?
If you’ve had the same reaction as me (or similar), I encourage you to write the company an e-mail explaining your reaction. I have done it, and maybe (if they get enough mails) they’ll take it of the marked so people doesn’t have to go through so much pain as we have because of this product.
If i could give this product zero lipsticks (or stars), I would.

Wow, this is the most DRYING face wash I have EVER come across!!! I used it twice and my whole face is dry, red, covered in small bumps and peeling like crazy!! I mean, my EYELIDS are peeling! I cannot put any cream on as my skin stings and hurts! Honestly, it feels like I just had a chemical peel gone wrong. definitely not for every skin type as it says on the packaging and definitely not moisturising either. No matter what you do, DO NOT use on your eyes. Actually, stay away all together just to be on the safe side.

Man, I can’t believe I wrote that last post. I’ve been using it for a bit more time now, and wow I’m beginning to see negative consequences of this product. I would edit that post but I’m not sure on the mobile app, I’m able to, so here goes. Firstly, it did get rid of spots but then my skin has little red bumps come out and honestly my skin barely purges with new products. But I continued using it, until problem 2 arose….. THIS STUFF IS SO DRYING. I’ve never had dry skin issues before but woah, this completely sucked out all the moisturise from my skin leaving me with flaky skin in areas of no previous issue. I tried combatting this by moisturising + facial oils but this cleanser was the problem and I chucked it in the bin. The only other products I have from M&G are the Sulphur Paste (HG – very good at dealing with spots) and Jojoba Scrub (meh, it’s ok, doesn’t make my face better or worse but I’ll use it).

I was recommended this product in store, as apparently its their best seller. I purchased as a birthday present for my 31 year old GF who has had NO issues with any facial products in her lifetime.
Well, this all changed when she used this face wash… woke up after using it the night before, with red burns, very dry and a a slight rash on her cheeks. Then after the redness and rash, came the swelling of her face the following day.
I got straight onto the internet to check the reviews, and low and behold – plenty of other users had the same issue (makeupalley) – even the latest 2 review on this website , people had the same issue.
She stopped using it, and the rash and swelling have gone.
Needless to say I took it back to the store..
The only way to let this be known is with honest reviews.
so you have been warned.

My mum got me this cleanser as it had been recommended for sensitive skin, which I have. I used it twice, both times it felt a bit tingly on my skin and really dry after I used it but thought nothing of it. After using it the second time at night, I woke up the next morning to a completely red, blotchy, dry face. The product had given me a rash/allergic reaction.
I’ve read other reviews and I’m not the first one. I do not understand how or why this product is still being sold. It may work for some people but it does the complete opposite for me and other people. Back to sqaure one now in repairing my skin, so disappointed.

My sister gifted me a travel set of the Malin + Goetz bestsellers, so I tossed this into my toiletry bag for an overseas trip a couple of years ago. I like it, it’s a decent enough facial wash that didn’t dry my skin or give me blemishes, and the scent is nice. It doesn’t completely wash off all traces of makeup but I use a separate makeup remover wipe (KGD) afterward anyway. I’m going to keep this in my travel toiletry bag until it runs out, but I wouldn’t be purchasing a full-sized bottle as it’s too expensive.

I didn’t find this too drying like the other reviewers. I bought this as a replacement for my neostrata gel cleanser which contains 4% glycolic acid in it. I wanted to try using a more natural alternative instead. Overall the price point is reasonable, it does a really really good job of cleaning EVERYTHING off your face (avoiding eyes of course, I used a separate remover for my eye area) and smells nice. Most cleansers with some sort of chemical exfoliant in it doesn’t smell that great so I think that this is the best part of this cleanser. I would buy this again, it cleans your skin well, and leaves my skin bright and free of residue without over drying my skin.
