It’s ok, but I wont repurchase. My main issue with it is that it’s not translucent on my tan skintone, so even if I use a small amount, I get a white cast over my makeup. I still use it regularly because it’s not heavy and its slightly smoothing (though not near as smoothing as something like the Cover FX Perfect Light loose powder, which is a powder I prefer over this one). What I do is not use too much, and use the damp sponge I use to put on foundation to tap all over the face over it, which seems to help. I also bronze my face afterwards with a medium toned bronzer, which brings warmth to my face (The Balm Bronzer), before I apply blush and contour. I’m sure a setting spray or hydrating spray would help even more BUT I dont want my makeup to become unset, so I dont do that.
Packaging is great, comes with a velour puff I cant use because applying a lot of the powder makes everything worse, but you can use it with some other product.
I would only suggest this to try for fair to light skintones.

Since I started using this I’ve had a sore eye with a slight swelling on my left eyelid. I have also experienced large pauple-type spots when pairing the product with particular foundations. I was immediately concerned the powder might be the culprit of these various irritations and stopped applying it. Within 2-3 days, the problems mentioned had gone completely. An immediate ‘no-go’ for me but I’ll break it down:
PROS
Brilliant oil control
Reasonably priced – especially with a £3 off voucher
CONS
Caused a painful eye irritation with swelling on the lid
Caused pauple-breakouts when paired with particular foundations
Terrible packaging – product doesn’t dispense well
Not really ‘translucent’ – shade does alter colour of foundation
In photography, this caused a bizarre patchy white cast despite being well blended
Overall, it has reasonable oil control but no other redeeming features. Eye pain/swelling and spots aren’t my favourite look so this one is a no from me…

THIS POWDER IS REVOLUTIONARY. It is so soft and sets my makeup all day, makes my skin look flawless and airbrushed. It is not terribly expensive, but the price does tell you that you’re getting quality. It is on the more pricey side of the drugstore. I pair this with the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder and it is the best thing to happen to my makeup routine in years. The packaging is incredible and looks so lux.

Been using this loose powder in the lightest shade (translucent) for a few years. Pale enough for my very fair skin (NW10 or slightly lighter), and finely milled, meaning it can be used to set creams and liquids on my skin without looking sticky or cakey. It gives a nice soft-focus or blurring effect on the skin, provided I don’t go overboard and apply too much. The puff it comes with is OK but I prefer using a brush for a lighter application.
It’s not the cheapest product out there but it’s one I keep returning to, both for its shade matching my skin well and its soft look. I don’t think it has any effects on oil control, but if re-applied after blotting oily areas it doesn’t look too heavy or cakey. I’m still looking for my HG powder but until then, this is the one I keep coming back to.

I’ve tried so many powders, Chanel – too expensive, chalky, Physicians Formula – glittery and no coverage, and nothing is as great as this powder. Softens wrinkles so much that people are making comments about how I haven’t aged! Will buy again!

I am not a huge wearer of foundation. I like to have a powder to go over my Clinique city block, and I can’t stand anything too heavy. I also have rather fair skin. I love this powder. It was £10, its luminous and its really lovely on. I only didn’t give it 5 overall because the coverage isn’t as good as some other powders I’ve used, but to be honest I didn’t expect too much from a powder. I got the fair shade and it is perfect on my skin!

I have been using this powder for a number of years now and it is what I always end up going back to. I don’t know why I bother wasting my time looking for something different. You cannot fault this powder in my opinion. It does the job of setting your foundation and keeping you matte without being cakey (even with my super oily skin) and it feels so light on the skin. I get it in translucent as I have always been told by makeup artists to always use a translucent powder over foundation. I am a medium skin tone and have no issues with this giving me a white cast. This is definitely my HG go to powder.

This has replaced the LM translucent which was my HG for a long, long time. This is less drying which is great as my combo skin is aging. Definitely worth checking out. I especially like this for setting concealer

This is a real case of fab product, bad packaging. The powder is light, non drying but very good at stopping oils on my nose (I have some hellish combo skin- really dry brow and jaw but a reasonably oily nose). Leaves a really nice ‘blurred’ look to skin rather than an obvious ‘powdered’ look and it is very kind to textured area in my experience. Great product that can genuinely contend with very high priced alternatives in my opinion.
The packaging though, is what stops this being a 5/5. The only props I can give it is that it looks quite nice, I suppose? The lid gets fingerprinted SO easily. The powder puff isn’t very soft and clings product TO it rather than to your face, although this is pretty easily fixed. What isn’t fixable though, is how much of a pain in the butt the holes to get the powder out are. They just do. not. work. I have to take out my puff, shake the tub *hard* to get the powder onto the lid then use it from there. With how much I need to initially set my very dewy foundation, I need to do this several times some days. Then your puff gets covered in powder on the top with any residue from doing so. It’s quite annoying.
I don’t think mine is faulty either, because i’ve seen reviews mention this flaw before. If it were even a 4/5 product wise I wouldn’t bother re-purchasing, but it really is *that* good that i’m likely going to.

This is an amazing powder. It does not look cakey at all and it sits very nicely on my skin. I use it on my t zones and cheeks where I have some shine. Although it did not keep my face all matte the whole day, the shine only came out as a healthy glow. I have normal to dry skin so a little bit of shine is absolutely not a problem for me. It also contains a lot of product with similar prices with other brands. NYX loose powder only contained 8g and was £9, while this one is £10 with 20g of products. The packaging tho is a bit annoying, I probably have excessively shaked it but at first the products on that lid just weren’t enough. Now it’s all sitting on top of that lid and I have to be very very careful when I open it. The container is very sturdy and just the size of my palm, but it’s just! Hmm!

The first time I used this I LOVED it, I lived in a humid area of TX, and this kept oil at bay and kept my foundation from melting off my face
Now, I find it still keeps oil at bay, but it makes my foundation cakey and highlights my pores. Maybe the formulation changed? I’ve given this powder so many chances, trying different application techniques, but my pores remained highlighted

Recently purchased and really like it so far. The lid is a little difficult to attach back to the base after using, but that is my only negative thing to say. The powder did a great job of helping my foundation stay longer and keeping my oil down. I would highly recommend!

Finally, I have found a new powder to love. My former holy grail powder has been discontinued for years and while I knew finding a dupe would be impossible I just wanted something similar. I have fair skin, an olivey NC15, my skin type is dry save for my nose which is oily. Translucent loose powder is a must for me. I had previously tried both Laura Mercier Mineral powder, and her translucent loose powder. The former was too heavy, and the later was to dry and looked cakey and flat even with a light dusting. I had even tried using pressed baked powder with MAC MSFN, which I didn’t care for either. I just don’t like powders that add coverage or color All I want is a truly translucent loose powder with a natural to slightly luminous finish. This delivers on all those points. I did have some oiliness on my nose at the end of the day, but the rest of my face looked great. I used this over an oil based dewy foundation and they really worked well with each other. My only complaints are that this ever so slightly pink, and it needs a bigger sifter. I feel like being a more olivey NC15 I can get away with slight pink tones such as this of Nars RCC in vanilla, but the pinkness may not be favorable to true NC15’s that are more yellow. This is priced really well, about what I was paying for my old holy grail powder which was also a drugstore line. I like this better than Laura Mercier and Nars, but not quite HG status, definitely in my top 2-3 powders.

I brought it just for a change from my usual loose powder with a slight shimmer in it. I think that makes me more oilier than this shimmer free powder. Powder is quite good for me, smooth finish, not cakey, abit pricey (i can only get this online), control shine well, lightly fragrance and doesn’t oxidize.
The only thing i don’t like is the lid before getting to the powder. It takes alot of strength to pull that out as i don’t like pouring powder through the holes, time consuming esp. when in a rush. I usually did that with my usual powder and it can be close back with the lid on top of it easily yet it is not securely covered and i can just use the powder the next time around conveniently, which is not the case for Boots. I guess i can pour it out to my old loose powder container after washing it and then use it but kind of troublesome….Still i will repurchase as i do like it enough to.

I don’t know what’s the deal with all these uber negative reviews. I bought this in transluscent when my Laura Mercier loose powder ran out & I didn’t feel like going to a mall in Houston’s shitstorm of traffic to buy some more. Also, when I thought about it, I didn’t think there was anything notably spectacular to warrant the LM’s steep price tag, so I thought I’d try something in a consumer products line. Enter Boots loose powder. I use my Laura Mercier puff to roll & pat it in, & then sweep my buffing brush over to ensure there’s no extra fall out, and it looks splendid.
Granted, I have very fair skin & perhaps I could imagine someone with a darker complexion getting some chalkiness from it, but for my purposes, I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing the $35 Laura Mercier loose powder that I’d used for about 8 years prior.

UPDATE – Boots have bought out new packaging and it’s now 20gms.
I have two old tubs from this product. 1 says 45gms, the other says 30gms and now if you go into the shops it’s 24gms. Just how low are you going to go Boots. I think the 45gms tub is about 10-15 years old (I’ve been using it to hold something else). Based on that and a recollection of the price gram for gram the price has increased by over 488% over the last 10 years or so. Within the last year it’s been a 20% increase because pack size has reduced but price hasn’t.
The product colour range is limited to 4 colours. It’s mainly talc, also has silicones, mineral oil and mica. It’s very finely milled and offers reasonable coverage, not really sheer but not heavy. There’s absolutely no oil control if anything for me it draws out the oilies slightly, 3 hrs later I might as well have not put it on whereas other powders manage better. I would imagine it’s good for touchups but the packaging is awful. You have a lid and a screw top, fiddly and it gets everywhere if you take off the plastic cover with holes, gets in the lid screw on area then leaks out.
It’s ok, but it’s expensive for what it is bascially talc and silicones.

Great powder for the price, as I was happy to find out during a lean month when I ran out of my HG LM loose powder.
The sponge kinda sucks but works in a pinch, and the container is pretty cool.
My only complaint is that is it pretty finely milled (the LM is more grainy) and it seems I have to use more powder to mattify. But at this price who is complaining…
No color change (I have the translucent shade) or oxidization on my face.
