This is not the product that has been on the shelves for years, although the package looks almost the same. I’m just hoping they don’t discontinue the Curl Sculpt Conditioning Cream Gel, which works just wonderfully, because this new version doesn’t. And it smells yucky, whereas the original smells good. Why not leave well enough alone? I would not buy this product if it is a replacement for the original.

Apparently Walmart stopped carrying my normal curl cream (Herbal Essence Totally Twisted Curl Define & Hold Crème) so I tried two different products to get hold for my “wavy” hair. I returned them both and ordered my regular stuff from Amazon.
First of all, my hair is naturally straight and a bit frizzy. I turn my head upside down under the tub faucet after washing my hair to pull it all to the front, then rub in some product and spray some Rave hairspray to give it some hold without crunch, flip and scrunch every so often so I end up with some messy waves. When done right with the right product, I can use a spray bottle to wet my hair done for 2 more days without having to wash it and I still have some wave left.
This gel gave me just the same amount of hold as regular cheap gel–nothing special at all! I had no waves the next day, although I did have body (aka toned-down frizz.) In all fairness, it DID last the day…but I was getting “full” hair by the end of the day with less and less “definition.” If you want just body and your hair isn’t frizzy, this may work for you. But honestly you’d do just as well getting cheaper gel and mixing it with a little bit of water when applying it to avoid some of the crunch (putting a dot in your palm and a few drops of water then rubbing hands together and applying.)

I bought this YEARS ago and never really used it, but I recently brought out that same bottle (with the old look) and have been using it for several months. This stuff is great and a little goes a long way. I have thin, oily hair that is naturally a mix between wavy and curly. This gives it such good beach waves and creates good volume in my hair. It also doesn’t make it greasy (my worst fear) and it doesn’t weigh my hair down. It also lasts all day. My only criticism is that it can sometimes give a mild “gelled” effect if I get just a little too much in a certain area, but I guess that would be partly my fault. I will definitely buy this again.

I have past my waist very fine slightly wavy hair and live in Georgia where the humidity is out of control. I read about this on Paula Begouin’s website where this is a recommend product that keeps hair soft. The price is amazing at $4 and this does a great job at creating that soft beachy look.

I feel like I have reviewed this at some point but maybe it wasn’t the extra strong version. I haven’t bought any hair products (well not that many) for a while because I was trying to go through my stash of stuff. None of the curl gels/mousses/balms were working to keep my curls in check for the humid summer when I like to keep my hair natural (what’d the point of blowing it out really???). I picked this up while away for a weekend at stop and shop. Yes, the grocery store. What an amazing product for my hair! It does smell a little strong for my liking but it definitely absorbs into my hair yet still keeps my curls formed. Not completely frizz free at the ends but I used a fekkai cream just in the ends for extra moisture. A great find for the price. I did use two decent size blobs (don’t know what other word to use) and it spread easily into my hair.

I love this stuff, it creates more curls that aren’t hard & it lasts all day.

I have used many “curl creams” over the years and picked this up because it came in sample size before a recent vacation. I was surprised that its not the same Garnier Curl Cream of past. It has been reformulated to be a cream-gel. I need wash and go hair on vacation so this was put to the test. It does have a weird consistancy but for some reason it works well on my long curls. Defines and boosts. Almost frizz free, almost. No crunch either. Pretty good eh? The smell however leaves something to be desired…its chemical. The last potion I used smelled like grape soda and now this…but the performance is worth a few minutes of nasal discomfort.

Ugh. I love Garnier’s Curl Construct Mousse, so figured I’d give this a go to use itself or along with gel. Well, I’ve tried it every way I know how and it just doesn’t work for me at all! My hair is 3b and thick. All it seems to do is separate my curls into a light, fluff, frizzy mess. I’ve tried using a little, a lot, mixed with something else, by itself, as a base layer, a top layer, NOTHING works. I probably shouldn’t have even given it that many shots, but I’ve been happy with so many other Garnier things. Anyway, trash can here it goes! At least it wasn’t expensive!

I absolutely LOVE this creme gel. My hair is curly and gets frizzy from rubbing on my shirt throughout the day. Not with this product. Now my hair stays in place and looks good all day. Also, one tube costs less than $4 at Walmart.

This is one of those products I bought a couple years ago, didn’t like, but have since brought it out of the cabinet. My hair is long and naturally wavy/curly and very thick. I realized I wasn’t using enough product before. I really like it now, and I partially let it air dry. It keeps my curls in all day without making them stiff, greasy or crunchy. It also adds shine, which I like and helps with the curl definition. I am now almost out, so the tube doesn’t last very long, but I will repurchase.
