I have both the Taupe Velours in the matte line and the Barely Gold in the shimmery line. These two shadows feature in my 5-minute everyday look: I swipe the taupe on with a finger and then tap the pinky-gold colour in the middle of my lid with my ring finger. Easy, and very brightening—perfect, if you’re into a fresh, glow, “no makeup” vibe. The price point is excellent, the company is cruelty-free, and the sturdy little glass jars do double duty (once you’ve used up the product and sterilized them) for housing broken or leftover lipstick or serving as travel containers.

Lise Watier is a Canadian, cruelty free company. I purchased these cream shadows from Shoppers Drug Mart for $27.00.
These are my absolute favourite cream shadows and despite the steep price tag I’ve garnered a little collection of them. I have four in total, two of which I use more often but all of them perform beautifully, in my opinion. The shades I have are; Sunrise Peach (a light peachy champagne shade), Wonderland (a beautiful gold), Taupe Fantasia (a taupe shade), and they’ve recently released three new colours one of which is Amethyste (a neutral purple shade, if that makes sense. It isn’t an icy or overly intense purple!)
The shadows contain 4 grams of product and honestly I use so little that they’ll last me ages.
Now, these shadows are called “ombre souffle supreme” largely because the shadows have an interesting texture, at least at first. My most recently bought shade Amethyste still has a very bouncy feel to it and when I tap my finger in the shadow to pick up the product I do tend to get a lot of it. As the shadows sit longer (there’s a screw on lid and a little plastic stopper) I do find they settle down. They are definitely still creams and I don’t have an issue picking up colour – they just aren’t as messy as they are initially!
I personally apply these with my finger and get a nice light wash of colour that is shimmery. If I want a more intense colour payoff I will apply it using a denser brush or even a sponge applicator. Applying this over top of a tacky glitter primer also helps the colour look more intense!
A fallback of these shadows is that I personally have oily lids and I do find this will crease after a few hours. I can’t give a precise timeline but if I put one of these on in the morning by the time I get home (a little over 8 hours) the shadow will have creased.

Being Canadian, I have seen Lise Watier around for years but never tried any of her products until last winter when I was looking to try a cream eye shadow and noticed these.
I bought Love Spell, which is a sort of pinky-nude colour. Verrrry similar to the Diorshow Fusion Mono in Chimere, which I also own. The Lise Watier is about $10 CAD cheaper and I think I prefer it!
It has a very soft, spongy texture to it and is very shimmery/sparkly but that aspect of it is super-fine, which is what I wanted (I love some sparkle but hate chunky glitter). From what I can remember (it’s been months since I’ve worn it…not sure why!) the staying power is decent, with primer. I’d sort of forgotten about this shadow but now that I just tried it on again, I think I’m going to treat myself to another shade!

I’m amazed that this eyeshadow has been around for several years and yet I’ve only just “discovered” it. I’m also stumped as to why there are so few reviews for this absolute winner of an eyeshadow – probably one of the best “cream” eyeshadows I’ve ever used.Lise Watier makes some real hidden gems and this is just one more in the lineup. I have it in the colour “SORTILEGE”, which is a beautiful murky grey/brown with shimmer. It’s the sort of shade that can go from very dark and sultry to an every day/workplace appropriate look depending on how you apply it. It is serves as a terrific eyeshadow base for shades like Nars Kalahari duo or an old MAC shadow I have – Gazette Grey – that needs a bit of help to look on the eye the way it does in the pan. Sortilege reminds me very much of a wonderful eyeshadow that Hourglass discontinued years ago. It was the darker side of the “Dune” duo and it remains one of my favourite eyeshadows. In texture/finish, these are very much like the Chanel Illusions d’ombre in that they have a subtle but beautiful shimmer, and the texture is somewhat similar, though these seem more “bouncy” when you touch them. They apply smoothly and evenly – way better than Chanel. I just hope they aren’t prone to drying out. Like the previous reviewer, I’ve also had one of my Illusion d’ombre shadows dry out and shrink into a little blob that falls out of the jar if I tilt it. It’s still usable (I rough up the surface with a dense, scratchy brush) but that was SO disappointing and it happened in a very short time and has made me reluctant to purchase any more of them, even though I very much wanted Epatant, a silvery green shade. But Lise Watier’s range has the shade “Vert Enchante” which is virtually identical and it’s what I’ll be buying next. Honestly, these are SO lovely and they’re a whole lot less pricey than Chanel. I do wear a primer under this shadow but then I wear a primer under every eyeshadow I apply (except for Maybelline Colour Tattoo) because that gives me the security of knowing my eye look will last for 12 hours or more.
Do yourself a favour and check these out. They’ve also launched a similar grouping called “Ombre Velours” that are all matte and look lovely too, though I have several Clarins cream shadows that are matte and quite similar, which is why I didn’t purchase one of those as well.
EDIT – Dec./15: Since writing my initial review, I have, in fact, purchased VERT ENCHANTEE and it is totally lovely. I only wish there were more shades in this line but the few others are so similar to cream shadows/shadow pencils I already have that purchasing them would be pointless until I finish up what I already own. But if you don’t have a lot of cream shadows or are contemplating purchasing from Chanel, Benefit, etc., do consider at least giving these from Lise Watier a look.

I had 3 Chanel “ILLUSION D’OMBRE” and none compared to the texture to this one.
This one comes in a similar glass bottle but is much more pigmented and very smooth – a soufflé texture.
Chanel totally disappointed me because after a few months it shrinks and dries.
will return to this lise waitier one – one more thing, this is more shimmery than Chanel.
