Great quality/price rapport. I use this every two nights and it really helps keep my face hydrated and clearer. I’ve even tried applying it to spots and somehow it helped them decrease. The texture is oily so it needs time to absorb. My bottle is almost finished and I plan on repurchasing.

Got this to get benefits from retinoic acid without irritation. I have a normal to oily skin prone to blocked pores and dehydration. This product is a thick oily liquid (apparently squalane is not “real” oil, just has similar properties) with barely noticeable “medicinal” scent. It spreads easily but doesn’t sink completely into my skin. I do enjoy adding a drop of pure squalane to my moisturizer at night, but applying a thin layer of this retinoid in squalane seems a bit too much. And diluting it doesn’t feel right either. However, the product doesn’t break me out so my problem is mostly about the discomfort of having a slightly oily face.

I have been using since 10/2018 without any side effects. I broke all the rules and tried all but the moisturizer at the same time, I started it about a month later, using up what I had and because it was out of stock on main site. From 10/2018 – 2/2019 I used regularly, then had eye surgery and didn’t want to chance anything on my face. For two weeks I barely used moisturizer. Did I notice a huge difference, dried out textured skin. After using – no breakouts at all, texture of my skin is smoother, softer, plumper. Do I still have wrinkles of course, crows feet around eyes does seem less as well as the 11’s lines. I spent approximately $100 for the full regime and still have half of the bottles as I use about two drops of each, I double ordered the buffet just for ease of am/pm application. I have spent $200 for a moisturizer alone at the French store in the mall, these products topped that and then some in results. Final note on application I press serums into my face especially the retinal rather than rub which prevents pilling. I do serums wait for a few minutes for absorption (they will feel tacky – less is more here) and then put on moisturizer. I have the 30 ml tube (larger was out of stock) and press out about an inch of product in my palm for entire face. If you are getting a white cast with the moisturizer my guess is you are using too much product. I like the droppers and glass bottles but need to figure out a travel plan as I don’t want to travel with glass. I do not notice any scent with these products and I’m fragrance picky!
Bottom line after moisturizer I brush on a little Trish McElvoy power (or LM TM full full face but not often), blush, eye make up and I’m out the door. I don’t need concealers, tons of foundation, I think my face and skin look good now which for 58 years old makes me very happy. I have tried the foundations as well, but didn’t like the matt dry look result.

This is one of the most effective products of The Ordinary line.
I am always on the hunt for a good vitamin C based serum, and this one proves to be very stable.
It is oily, so you will control it very well (generally Vitamin C serums are runny and you end up using too much) but is does take forever to get absorbed. I use it in the evenings only (no way to have this thing working under foundation) and I layer it with the B5 hyaluronic serum, they work well together.
So far so good: I have been using it on and off (=not every night) for month now and the results are promising: my hyperpigmentation spots are doing better!
A good, very reasonably priced prodcut that performs and will not deceive.

This is my first foray into the Ordinary’s Retinol /Retnoids. I’ve been using it 4-5 times a week and am liking it. I usually use it in conjunction with their AHA 7% liquid, which has its own pros and cons but overall is wonderful for plumping up my dry/combo skin in conjunction with gently exfoliating it.
Anyway, back to this product. I have noticed a (modest but noticeable) positive change in texture, (smoother, less whiteheads, less dry). I do use it a little heavily so I have noticed a little bit of blackheads (I did temporarily stop using BHA so as not to overload my skin all at once). This Granactive Retinoid 2% is the mildest, I think (They also make a 5% version).
I’m about halfway through the bottle and want to try rotating it with the line’s 0.5% Retinol (not Granactive Retniod) , which is purported to be more irritating but possibly more potent. The Granactive Retnoid 2% product didn’t irritate my skin at all. Because it’s in an oil base, it isn’t great for my clog prone skin but not any worse than any other oil I have tried.
