Well done, La Roche-Posay! I really like this product because:
1) It does not dry out my skin ( I have combination, sensitive skin )
2) Not irritating
3) Does not oxidizes (no orange look)
4) Very affordable (good quality and just for ~15 euros)
5) Gives light coverage (it masks pores on my cheeks and redness), and if you want, you can build it up to wanted coverage
6) Gives soft velvet finish.
7) Long staying power
In my opinion it is the best tinted moisturizer so far. I have tried Chanel Les Beiges tinted moisturizer (this product is really good for dry skin, although), Bioderma AR BB cream (which leaves orange look).

I don’t have problematic skin so I don’t always feel the need to put on foundation so this has been great for every day. It blends perfectly with the skin and gives a natural healthy look. I use this and concealer and my complexion is perfect.

I was shocked at how instantly this tinted cream reduced redness in my cheeks and nose. I have mild pustular rosacea and was looking for a treatment under my makeup to soothe and smooth those areas. This is very effective but I was disappointed to find that not under foundation – it is too drying for me, so I use it at night. For that reason, I would be better off buying the non-tinted version, as I feel strange wearing a tinted product to bed, so I have taken off one lippy. I usually like dewy-finish makeup but have found lately that those types of foundations emphasise the bumps on my cheeks. This product helps to settle down my skin for makeup application in the morning. I gentle cleanse then apply moisturiser, and this seems to strike a better balance for me than if I wore it during the day under dewy makeup. My rosacea can be both drying and the pustules oily, so it’s a strange mix to manage, but this has become part of the routine.

Effaclar Duo+ is for “corrective unclogging care anti-imperfections”. Another fail. I went through a few tubes of this and only got redness. La Roche-Posay is not going back in my cabinet.

I personally love this product! It’s a step up from the normal effaclar duo as it contains a bit of pigment and can be used as a daily BB cream.
I have combination/occasional spot prone skin and I usually wear it daily instead of foundation/concealer as this product gives an ‘even’ look to the skin.
I have also worn it as a ‘base’ for foundation when I run out of primer. It doesn’t have a lot of coverage but it is good for minor imperfections. If I feel like a need extra coverage for everyday I usually go over with a light concealer in the problem areas.
I also feel that daily wear has made my skin less prone to spots.
The price is fair for the product/brand.
Would highly recommend!!

Not a review writer, but thought this product so good that it deserved to be ranked on MUA.
Note that this review is for the European version without Benzoyl Peroxide.
I am 47 years old. After years of often really expensive skin care products and yet not-so-good skin, I had a rethink with new products. Much to my horror – I found that “cheaper” products like LRP actually gave much better results for my skin. I started using Serozinc and Effaclar Duo under my tinted moisturizer and they worked really well. I also like Redermic R. I use Effaclar gel in the evenings, but too strong for twice a day. So I use a gentler CeraVe cleanser in the morning.
This summer I was ill for several weeks. In the recuperation phase I couldn’t be bothered with make-up but tried Unifiant (Light) on a whim. Wow. If you are used to foundation or thick BB then this won’t be enough. But as a pretty sheer tinted lotion, or a base under other make-up, it really works. All the benefits of Effaclar Duo with some extra tint. Now my skin is better I can get away with just Unifiant and some loose powder. My skin is so much clearer and less oily.
I also recently went to a dermatologist for separate reason. Whilst there, they tried to sell me Obagi ZO products for a huge sum ($250 for just moisturizer). Apart from the fact that buying a new skin regime for around $1000 is out of the question, when I checked the key ingredients against LRP and CeraVe, then I see the same key ingredients and figured that was better off with what I have. Not exactly the same, and maybe not as good (who knows without trying) but definitely GOOD ENOUGH for me.
So really worth a try for the price. It worked for me anyway!

This product walks the fine line between treatment and BB cream. It follows in the steps of the original Effaclar Duo, which is meant to reduce visible imperfections, spots included. By adding colour to the mix, it can be used as a BB cream, which is what I primarily bought it for.
It was initially recommended by my dermatologist, who wanted me to take a break from heavier foundations and concealers. It is very lightweight and dewy when applied, and does blur pores a bit and calm redness to a certain extent. It is less effective at hiding spots, and big blackheads would still likely show. For anyone looking for stronger coverage, look elsewhere or use a significant amount of concealer.
The product is also meant to reduce imperfections over time, but I cannot say that there was any significant change to my usual redness, pores, or the occasional spot. Another downside is that there are only two shades to choose from. The formula is light enough that if you are within the range you can sort of get away with not being an exact match, but as someone who is on the more extreme side of the spectrum, I am not sure that this is optimal for very light or very dark skin tones.
Overall, I am on the fence about repurchasing. It is an easygoing product, and with concealer and powder works well enough, without feeling heavy on the skin. I think it would be better in the winter, rather than in the summer, as I have certainly experienced a lot of shine on the T zone. However, if I will be buying again, it will be for BB cream purposes, as it does not make any difference as a treatment.
