Great coverage and lasting power. Ash color was discontinued and I wish they’ would bring it back. With the popularity of cooler blonde haircolor, , it would match the cool tones better. Grey is too dark for me and blonde is better, but not cool enough. I would love to see a few more colors added

I have this pencil in both the shade blonde and ash. I like the ash pencil the most as it is the best color match for my skin and hair that I’ve found with any brow product available on the market today. It is pretty expensive for the amount of product so I try to find it on sale on eBay whenever possible. I like the easy powdered pencil application and how it stays in place all day long. I also like how it looks so natural as long as I use a light hand when applying. This pencil is easy to sharpen with the sharpener the company provides with each sale, however it would be nicer if it would sharpen to a more precise point. This is my hg brow product at least til something better comes along. I find this affordable when I just use it for going out on weekends or special occasions. The rest of the time I just use the Maybelline duo pencils that I’ve used for 30 years now.

Ive used this product in colours ‘Grey’ and ‘Blonde’ (I dye my hair often). I always recommend this product and I always buy it. Its not oily or waxy so looks more natural than a lot of other brow pencils & doesn’t wipe off easily. The colour range is good both colours I have tried matched with my hair colour at the time.
I was really shocked to see the reviews of this being only 2.8!!

Want an average brow pencil? Buy this one 🙂
I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it neither.
Pros:
– decent brow pencil with not bad color range
Cons:
– staying power is 3 out of 5
– doesn’t look very natural when applied
Very average product. From now on I’ll strictly stick to Clinique superfine brow liner. And If I can’t buy one, I’ll find a friend who can buy and ship it to me.

I’ve been using the same pencil I bought 2 or 3 years ago, with an estimated 3 to 4 months of daily use left. This product retails at about SGD45 but since I’ve had the same pencil for so long, I would say that the high purchase price is justifiable. Unlike many of the reviewers below, I have not experienced the pencil crumbling as I sharpen it. I’m not particularly careful about sharpening either. Since my pencil was probably from the same batch as theirs (circa 2011/12), I have no idea how to explain this.
Some background: I have dark brows that are full in the middle and disappear to almost nothing just before the tail. I prefer pencil because of the definition that it pencil provides. The product has a powder finish and when just applied, can look a little stark, but like another reviewer, I use a brush to soften up my look. I use Mahogany, which matches my brows close to perfectly, if slightly more ashy. I don’t find the ashiness a problem and sometimes run some shadow in Blonde through the fullest part of my brow to lighten them a little. I’ve stuck so long with the same pencil because I love the powdery finish and colour match, and my brows stay on all day. Eyebrow pencils are pretty basic, but it does what it’s supposed to do, and with full marks. I will use this down to a nub then repurchase.

i LOVE this brow pencil.
Previously I was using a MAC brow pencil in ‘Dirty Blonde’ (I am a MAC fanatic). Unfortunately they discontinued the shade, replacing it with ‘strawberry blonde’- a completely different colour. They still have one shade in the mechanical style pencils that is perfect for me but those pencils are so tiny, it just doesn’t last long enough and they break easy. I also much prefer a pencil i can sharpen to a nice point.
As soon as I realised I couldn’t get my staple MAC brow pencil I went straight for the Bobbi Brown counter. This pencil seemed good enough and so I decided to go with it. ‘Gray’ and ‘Ash’ were both close matches but as I’m growing out my blonde and have quite alot of my natural ash blonde hair colour left, the girl at the counter suggested that ‘gray’ matched my natural hair the best, and so I bought it.
I am about 3/4 of the way through my ‘gray’ pencil and I must say it has been an interesting journey. To begin with I found this pencil far too intense, it takes over your brows and you can’t help but get a thick, colour intense look from it. I use a brush to soften the look after applying. I got used to the formula and decided I really liked my new ‘full’ brows, but I always found this colour slightly too gray. It is definately an ash colour but it seems to make my brows look slightly lifeless or dull. So I decided to return to the counter and try out the ‘Ash’ shade. I’ve been using it for about a week now and find it just perfect. The look is slightly less intense than the gray and just adds a little more warmth to my face, while still matching my brow colour quite well (I’ll never use something that’s a different colour to my natural brows). I will still use my gray pencil when I feel like having darker brows, and ash for an every day look. After using the product for 6 months or so I can honestly say I didn’t like it much at first but am now seriously in love with it. I’ve tried every other brand they stock at Myer and I can’t find a single brow pencil that even comes close to being as lovely as this.
One more thing I would like to point out, I have noticed ALOT of reviewers complaining about this pencil falling to pieces when they try to sharpen it. I read those before sharpening my pencil and for that reason have always been quite careful but I have never had a single problem, it sharpens perfectly every single time. I use the sharpener which comes with the pencil (which is a great bonus)! I’m tempted to think that Bobbi Brown have changed their formula since all the bad reviews about sharpening. Don’t listen to them, and if you like a brow pencil that is soft, powdery, intense, very easy to apply and that lasts all day then try this out!!! Just make sure to have some kind of little brush handy to buff this out a little or it will look too drawn on.

bought this in color “blonde”. Pencil is super soft, easy to put, works well into gaps, stays on all day. Great purchase

I have at least 4 of these floating around my house and car- they’re so inexpensive I one in my purse, one in the car, etc.
Pros: both the neutral brown and dark brown are cool/ ashy toned browns- not a hint of the red tones I find in other brands.
Easy- these give you a natural look & I don’t have to be as precise as I do with very bold brow products. No fussing with brushes and powders, just a retractable pencil with built in spoolie on the other end
Price- $3! And these are better than some of the HE brands I’ve used
Cons: subtle – not necessarily bad but you have to build this product up if you want a dramatic brow.

Going to start off by saying this is NOT the brow pencil for you if you want ultra-sharp and defined brows. It has a relatively large diameter of around 5mm and a rounded tip, and has a waxier consistency than the firmer and more opaque traditional brow pencil formulas out there. It also isn’t the most long-wearing.
Although semi-sheer, it’s possible to build up coverage, and the wide waxy pencil drawing blurred soft-focus lines means it doesn’t look as obvious that they are not your natural brows. The spoolie is quite stiff, so when blending along the brow line it’s all too easy to wipe off too much and often needs a second going-over to fill bare areas back in. On the flipside it makes it easy to correct mistakes without excessive smearing all over the place.
The main reason I like these so much is because of two shades in particular. Taupe is a true cool-toned soft grey-brown that is great even with darker hair, gives natural and subtle definition to brows. The other is Neutral Brown, a darker grey-brown without any hint of red which suits dark hair beautifully if you want a deeper colour match.
Staying power is average so I often need to fix it if worn all day, and the packaging is not great. The cap for the spoolie end comes off all the time, it doesn’t seem to fit well at all. But for £3 I can accept packaging flaws because I really like the pencil itself.
Especially good for those with limited budgets.

I love this brow pencil. I find that the colour “Neutral Brown” matches my brows exactly. I use this to fill in my sparse areas and leaves me with a nice natural look as I’m not really into the bold look. I’m not sure how much product I’ve used but I’m not really concerned because its so affordable. The pencil itself is just what you’d expect from a brow pencil; creamy but not too creamy. The applicator is easy to use and the spooly on the end is so handy to brush my brows after applying the product.

I bought this in the new shade, Blonde, and it’s excellent! I had previously tried out Taupe, but it was a bit too dark for my dark blonde/ light brown eyebrows. The Blonde color matches my eyebrows perfectly, and it’s really easy to fill in any sparse areas. Just a side-note, the tip isn’t very pointy, so people who like drawing super precise lines might want to look elsewhere. However, for my purpose, this is a great eyebrow pencil. It doesn’t smear either, and it lasts a full day without problems.

im in love with this brow pencil. 2 dollars?! its just as good, if not better than the Dior brow styler pencil i was paying like 30 bucks for. this pencil doesnt smear, even when my skin gets oily in the south florida humidity. i got neutral brown and it matches my brow hairs perfectly. HG

I don’t think this is the worst brow pencil, especially for the price. As an everyday, not doing anything special kinda day, I get it.
I got the shade neutral brown. The spoolie is kinda stiff. I wish it were softer. And for a brow pencil, it’s pretty thick, which makes precise application really difficult. It goes on easily and lasts for a while, but you have to be careful when using the spoolie after because the product comes off easily and will just be brushed away. There’s also a little fallout when using the spoolie, but not much throughout the day.
I won’t be buying this again. I prefer the L’Oreal Paris Brow Artist Designer Pro right now.

I have this in the taupe which is a great match for my brows. This pencil is creamy, easy to apply, and lasts all day for me. The only downside is the size of the brow pencil. I am used to using the NYX microbrow which has a finer tip and gives a more natural look to my fine brows. The NYX microbrow taupe color and this e.l.f. taupe color are almost identical in color.

Finally! A dupe for the Bobbi Brown eyebrow pencil. Love the BB pencil but it is expensive (around $26.00) and since it has to be sharpened you can use it up pretty quickly.
The femme couture pencil is the same soft powdery finish that I love. The pencils which are more waxy just don’t work for me. They don’t fill the gaps in my brow as well and they tend to wear off. This covers the gaps and holds fast.
Plus the dark blonde is a dupe for Bobbi Brown grey. And at one quarter of the price.
Keeper!

I wanted to review this because it’s pretty good for what you pay, good enough where I can’t justify spending more on an eyebrow pencil because I would probably just be disappointed, although I do wish FC would put a spoolie brush on the other end.
It has lasted me forever, at least a year so far and I’ve only used half of it up and this is using it to fill my brows daily.
I don’t use eyebrow gel and never noticed any problems with it fading, but I was thinking of trying an eyebrow gel on top for a more made up look.
This is easy to sharpen for me and the color matches my eyebrows perfectly. I was actually so surprised when I looked at the shade, because I would’ve thought I had an ashy dark brown color, but to my surprise it was the shade “Black”. Maybe it’s just because I don’t push down hard when I’m filling in or extending my brows outwards, either way it isn’t a true black!

I seriously love this brow pencil, It has a hard, dry formula which I prefer over softer pencils. With a gentle touch I am short, soft strokes to fill in my brows, it gives them more oomph but they still look natural. I have dark brown which would work well for medium to dark brown hair, and the intensity of the color can be controlled. This is great if you your brows need just a little extra kick for definition without looking harsh or exaggerated. I had previously use Maybelline brow pencils since I was old enough to wear makeup and this is such a better product.

This review is for the Perfect Arch Soft Powder Brow Pencil in Blonde #827422. This really is a mating of pencil and powder. Very soft color and the blonde shade is not reddish. I do set it with E.L.F. Clear Brow Gel but a wax would also work. Not sure how long it would wear without the gel. I bought it at Sallys.

I used to use the Sally brand brow powders and loved them. I went back after mine ran out only to find that Sally no longer carried their brow compact anymore. I was pretty disappointed, but a Sally associate told me to try brow pencils. I always found them too harsh and obvious on the brows so I always stayed away. She assured me that she only uses Femme Couture brow pencils and had used it that day. I got one in dark brown and I have to say I am beyond amazed! They fill in so incredibly well and it’s a very soft look that blends right in. I will buy a few in case they discontinue it. One of the best makeup purchases I have ever made. It’s also quite inexpensive. Highly recommend this product and will definitely keep purchasing.

This is my absolute FAVORITE brow pencil!!! So easy to work with & the color match is incredible! Sooo natural looking because it is a soft powder pencil. People never even know my brows are filled in until I tell them. Veryy impressive product. I plan on purchasing over and over again!

Whoo hoo, finally found a brow pencil for my black brows! I used to use Ardell brow pencil in soft black but they are discontinuing them at Sally’s so I picked this up. I like the Ardell but sometimes they can be too waxy. I have tried powders and they don’t work for me so I love that this is a powdery pencil. Best of both worlds. The black is a great color, it’s a very soft black, not over whelming, and not overly gray/ashy. A lot of black brow pencils/powders are either too black or they are gray. This is a good middle ground. It makes filling in the brows so easy. Only thing is I wish it had a spoolie on the other end like all the brow pencils that I’m used to using but oh well. This is a great find.

So shocked with all the bad reviews on this pencil!
Its not groundbreakingly amazing or anything! But at the end of the day its a brow pencil, it stays on all day, it goes easily enough, And the colour i get is ‘blonde’ and i have mid brown hair so its really flattering.
People are saying stuff about problems with sharpening the pencil? I dont have this problem to be honest i make sure i apply a lot of pressure when sharpening and its fine.
It also has the finish of a powder rather than an oily pencil that slides off which i like.
Bit on the pricy side but you get a lot.

I’m very surprised with the negative reviews on this product because I love mine. I love the COLOR and I hope they don’t discontinue it. I love that it’s gray-brown and very neutral, compliments my face and hair. I haven’t found any equivalent in other brands.
It easily glides on, powdery finish (vs waxy kind which I hate).
As for the sharpening, since I apply at an angle, I do get a great deal of the product on the wooden exposed part of the pencil but I sharpen with no problem. My tip is, be gentle with the sharpening, twist it gently so it doesn’t crumble to pieces.
I’m already on my 2nd pencil so no doubt, I will continue to buy and hope that they don’t discontinue this.

What a disappointment. I generally love BB products, and this pencil in Gray is the exact color I need for my brows but the cheap quality of the pencil is a non-starter. It is impossible to sharpen. I lost over 50% of the pencil in abortive attempts to get a point. The point shatters and breaks below the pencil edge and you have to grind it down to even get to the product which then promptly shatters again.
Update: The problem was the sharpener. Or the lack of one. Apparently a sharpener is supposed to come with the product. I didn’t get one. I asked at the counter, they gave me one, and the problem is solved. Who knew that a pencil would be so dependent on a particular sharpener? Whatever, now I can sharpen it until it is barely a nub.

The “lead” is pretty nice in use and application. I bought Taupe and it’s a good color match with light to medium brown hair. HOWEVER, whoever designed the mechanics of this pencil did a mighty poor job. You have to retract the “lead”, else the cap smashes the lead when you close it back up after using it. And that made one heck of a mess – smeared all over my hands when I took it back out again, fortunately at home, and not out or at work.
shamefulLapwing7
I work at Sally’s so I’ve literally tried every brow pencil we have. I LOVE this one!! Its my favorite for sure. Its almost like a powder in pencil form. The only thing is there’s a sort of plastic film around the actual color part of the pencil, (its to keep the powdery part together) so after sharpening you need to make sure there’s no film at the tip because the pencil won’t transfer if there is. I use it in black, which is a really soft black almost darkest brown. I sell it all the time by pointing out that half of my eyebrow is real and the other half is this! Try it, you will fall in love.
drearyUnicorn9
this def lands on my top list for a cheapie brow pencil! its pigmented. lasts all day, glides on easily…and best of all…its under $7! i got this in the light brown color…way better than maybelline, cover girl, wet n wild, or majority of d/s brands

I finally found the perfect eyebrow filler. Looks natural, easy to use, fills in the “part” I have on one of my eyebrows and is super cheap. I will definitely be stocking up in case they discontinue!
