This is my new favorite foundation, and I have tried many, including both high-end and drugstore brands. I have very oily, sensitive skin with mild rosacea. I am 35 and look good for my age, but of course I do have some wrinkles and texture. Most foundations break down after a few hours due to my oily skin, especially on my cheeks next to my nose, my nose, and chin. I tried this foundation at Ulta and was immediately impressed at the coverage. A little goes a looong way! I have warm undertones but went with a neutral foundation, which matches perfectly. No issues with oxidation for me. I apply the foundation with my fingers, dabbing it evenly around and then blending out with my fingertips. I buff any areas with large pores (my nose) or around my eyes with a concealer brush. It applies great! It gives full coverage without looking cakey or mask-like. Even after 8+ hours, or going out dancing, it still looks flattering and even. It photographs great. I set it with powder and still have to dab oil periodically, but it looks more like a healthy glow. I can’t overstate how surprisingly impressed I am with this foundation. The packaging is nice too. It’s a pretty, lightweight bottle that’s easy to travel with. I can see why people with dry skin may not like this. You definitely want to thoroughly moisturize any dry patches before applying. A little goes a long way so don’t apply a ton right away. I highly recommend this to people with oily skin.

Purchased Marisol as I have difficultly finding a full coverage foundation pale enough for me. The shade oxidised to a more Orange tone on the back of my hand while I was applying.
With primer, powder and setting spray it still DO NOT SET. And came off with the lightly touch. Wearing glasses or sunglasses is a mess.
The texture was bad – but tbh I expect that in a full coverage, so I wouldn’t say it’s worse than other brands. It creased in fine line lines I didn’t even know I had.
Overall wearing this out was horrible – I felt like I needed to go touch it up every half hour, and was worried it was melting off my face. It was like a crappy version of the original illamasqua full coverage foundation – stage makeup.

I have oily skin. It seems to go on very smoothly and have a matte finish, however that doesn’t last long. This foundation does not agree with oily skin. It gets on everything because it smears badly after a couple of hours. It sort of disintegrates all over oily skin. I wanted to love it because it comes in my shade. I wouldn’t buy it again. I will stick to their beautiful palettes.

Yikes. Had high hopes for this, general like this brand and am always done to try a new foundation and I like medium-full coverage. My skin is usually pretty dry in the winter but this winter has been very mild and I also have a humidifier in my room so my skin has been more normal to dry, maybe slightly oily. The bottle says this is a soft matte finish. The color match was decent. I feel like the bottle is really small for $20 but a little goes a long way. Unfortunately his stuff makes my face SO oily and I have no idea why! Even after setting it with powder my face has been an oil
Slick at the end of my work day, and I work in an office so no physical labor. This will be going back this weekend.

I LOVE this. LOVE. I’ve come out of MakeUpAlley review retirement to sing the virtues of this. I have very oily, mature skin. This makes finding a foundation tricky.
This conceals, and keeps my face matte during long work shifts. The color matching is fantastic, too.

I matched with the shade Cairo on the website and it’s too dark and orange looking on my skin, perhaps with a more accurate shade match this foundation would look better on me but I found it settles on top of my skin and looks patchy and then rubs off easily despite use of setting powder and setting spray, I’ve seen this foundation looking good on other peoples skin however, but for me personally it wasn’t good at all which is a shame.

Definitely take your time matching your shade. Since this is such full coverage, even the slightest mishap in coloring is very noticeable. I swatched a few in Ulta then when I got home realized it looked…much different under natural lighting.
The ingredient list is REALLY nothing special so I’m still wondering how they pulled this off. My best guess is they formulated it with the perfect amounts. Because it really does preform a lot differently than most foundations on the market. Juvia’s Place I Am Magic is the fullest coverage foundation I’ve ever used. It even rivals with Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse’s original formula. All of my broken caps vanish. I have oily skin and I will say this lasted about 6 hours before oil broke through.
Now for the cons… I don’t like that this looks like a layer of paint. It looked much better once sheered out with moisturizer. And that’s saying a lot as I NEED full coverage. My other big issue with the formula is it sat on top of my skin the entire time. I blended and blended yet could never get it to blur my pores. Eventually the foundation sunk into them, emphasizing the texture.
I probably won’t repurchase but I can see why others are raving about this foundation.

To me, coverage was medium and this is coming from someone who does not like full coverage at all. My issue with this foundation is that it transfers everywhere, exaggerates pores and wipes off so easily. It’s 93 degrees just about every day where I live this summer and this foundation cannot keep up. One sweat droplet and you see my skin – it doesn’t matter which primer I use, powder, etc. This stuff is just not good. I’d rather spend $20 on a good drug store foundation that will stay on in the heat and not transfer or sweat off.

This is a great value and there are a lot of shades to choose from, I’ll give it that. BUT, it’s soooo dry. Definitely not for the drier skinned gals, even with multiple hydrating primers, damp BB, etc. Cakey, and I found the shade Bali to be very yellow (even though it was touted as a fair-neutral). Hardly any Ultas are carrying this brand in store, so it’s a crapshoot when picking a good shade or even being able to test it. I will be returning.
