Got the blue version (hydrating) as a gift. ? clay mask and hydrating do not seem to go well together? Does not do much for pores/blackheads, does not feel very hydrating either. Smells weird and difficult to wash off (as with all clay mask) but dries down well.

Pretty much agree with the reviewer below me. I also bought the black/purifying version, thinking it’d be similar to their original super volcanic mask but unfortunately, that is not the case.
First off, the texture is not as comfortable. It feels really thick and stays on your skin and doesn’t really dry down. After washing it off, my skin did feel softer, but there is a slightly heavy and tacky feeling that remains.
As for it’s acne fighting properties, it’s also not as good as the original. It doesnt aggravate my skin and helps with redness, and it does do a decent job of calming down my breakouts and minimizing my pores somewhat, just not as well as the original. Considering that they are similar in prices, the original or the mousse version is a much better choice. Although, I suppose this might be a good option for those with sensitive skin since it’s a milder version of their original.

I bought the black (purifying) version, thinking that it would be similar to the Innisfree Volcanic Pore Clay Mask, which I really liked. This did absolutely nothing for me. Unlike its predecessor, my pores looked just as clogged after washing this off and there was no noticeable difference to my skin even after multiple uses. Although it has a really smooth texture and is easy to spread, I found it a bit difficult to wash off because it would foam slightly when water was applied and it would take multiple rinses to get it off completely.
That said, I do prefer the packaging for this as compared to the tub version. But I don’t like the formula, and I wouldn’t buy it again 🙁 The Volcanic Pore Clay Mask (the tub version) is heaps better and I’ll be going back to using that.
