I sometimes get dry lips and having a lip scrub helps out immensely, especially when preparing my lips for wearing liquid lipsticks. Although this item from Jeffree Star Cosmetics is pricey, a tub lasts for quite a while. I own this in Blue Raspberry Sucker and it smells and tastes delicious! This was purchased at the Morphe store in Brea Mall for $12.00 (full price as the 10% off affiliate code for Morphe doesn’t apply to JSC items). If you are curious about the lip scrubs, I would recommend finding your local Morphe store so you can see the product in person and pick out the scent that most entices you. I may repurchase this in the far future, as I do not see myself quickly using up the tub I currently own. My only gripe about the way this product is packaged is that you gotta dip into it, and that can lead to bacteria build-up if not careful.

I do not have dry lips but I like to use this product. I bought it due to my curiosity. It nourishes my lips. I will not buy it again because it is not a necessity for me.

I am not Exactly sure how I feel about this product. You can never go wrong with the packaging as so much thought and effort is put into it.
I purchased CHERRY SODA and the product is Edible and it did taste as such.
A teeny tiny dab goes a very long way and you just rub in Circular motions around your lips. The chunks/Grain are rather thick but do dissapates very quickly and the rest is edible so it tastes delicious to lick your lips. This is great before applying your lip Color of choice. This item will last a very long time so I probably won’t be purchasing another until this one is gone but it was definitely worth the try if you are a Lover of Make-up, especially Jeffree Star and it is Totally Affordable!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics’ Velour Lip Scrubs are some of the best I’ve tried. I like the variety of flavors offered, I now have Watermelon Gum, Strawberry Gum, Blue Raspberry Sucker, Candy Cane and Hot Cocoa Peppermint.
The sugar grains are big enough to give a wonderful scrub but fine enough to dissolve easily and melt into the skin. The other ingredients leave the lips soft and hydrated. I love the flavors and feel good that everything is natural enough that Im not licking a bunch of chemicals off of my lips.
The pink, glittery packaging of the Holiday Collection is so cute. I wish the packaging was always this way.
My ONLY complaint (and hence the 4 stars) is the lids on these are so irritating. They never sit on the pot well so its always a pain to get then on right so the scrub doesn’t dry out. Every single one and every single time I use then I have this issue with them.

I have this in hot chocolate and I absolutely love it! I bought my daughter the strawberry gum flavor and she loves it too. They work very well and taste delicious.

I bought one of these in marshmallow. First off, yeah, it’s delicious. Like, incredibly delicious. Nothing artificial tasting at all. I just want to eat it. But it works. And it doesn’t irritate or hurt my lips. I’ve been using the E.L.F. lip exfoliator in the tube for years, just because it seemed to be the best I could find for a reasonable price, but I always thought it got kind of gross as I used it, and it kind of hurt my lips. I would have to press too hard to get it to work, then it would irritate. This works perfectly. It really preps my lips nicely for whatever lip product I am wearing, or sometimes I even use it at night before bed. I use the scrub and then put a layer of lip balm on and my lips are amazing in the morning. I think it’s a great value for the amount you get and how long it will last. I like the packaging. ( I prefer to be able to use my clean finger to apply some than to apply from the tube like the E.L.F. The tube would get kind of gross, and if I didn’t use it fast enough, it went bad.) There are a lot of other flavors I want to try, but yet I love the marshmallow so much….I have bought it for gifts, too. It’s so good!

This product is delicious, effective, fairly priced and beautifully packaged. I have the sherbet flavour and it is soooooo good. I love that it’s not a cream with some grains in it and more like a really grainy scrub. My lips are terribly chapped and in very bad shape because I am an anxious lip chewer but this fixes them right up! Of you cant find anything to smooth your lips try this with a little aquaphor after, it seriously works wonders. I dont know how this is formulated but the dead skin just falls off.
pluckyPiglet3
This is a good lip scrub, it’s maybe a little too grainy though and I don’t want to overuse it. I don’t love the overbearing coffee smell/taste, so I won’t repurchase
tautTortoise3
This is something i never want to live without. This smells like coffee latte sweet candy! Omg its sooo good. Its very finely milled and its really nice on the lips and gets the dead skins out really nicely. The ones ive tried from etsy and mac have very big granules and sugars that hurt the lips. This is sooo worth it. Def give it a try or sniff if you are ever in ultA. This leaves my lips moisturized to the point where i dont even need carmex afterwards. I still do tho to give my lips even more of a treatment. Id usually use this before any lip products and it smells nice plus helps my lips looking smooth and healthy.
Edit, okay this still works but i got tired of the smell! It doesnt intrigue me as it did in the begginning. Its a personal problem.

I’ve written literally hundreds of reviews of makeup and skincare across different sites, and this is one of only three products that were so amazing that I plan to go back and edit all of my other reviews to make them lower because I see now that the standard is so much higher than I thought it could be, because it can do things that I previously thought were impossible for that product type.
I have very full, often dehydrated lips. They crack easily unless I use a lip balm that is good for long term moisture (Ecostore Lip Balm) and not one of the other 30+ I’ve tried that actually dry your lips out worse in the long run because they contain short term soothing but long term drying ingredients. When my lips do crack and bleed, because I forgot to drink water for a day or something, they stay flakey for another week but I can minimise it for hours at a time by using lip exfoliators. When I use a lip exfoliator, they leave my lips soft and raw feeling in a best case scenario. In most cases, they remove some flakey skin but not all of it and there is still obvious residue.
I’ve previously used Elf which I thought did a decent job at exfoliating and had handy packaging, but I disliked the taste and how quickly it ran out. I’ve also used Lush which I thought was an utter rip off gimmick – sure it smells and tastes nice but it was laughably useless at exfoliating and never removed any dead skin and even dried my lips out worse. I’ve tried home recipes involving sugar and oil, and electric/manual toothbrushes.
This lip scrub blows them all out of the water. My lips had been cracked and visibly flaking for ten days with no end in sight and my Lush wasn’t doing jack. I bought this and used the tiniest amount you could imagine… rubbed it for less than five seconds… and my lips were completely smooth and *did not feel raw or dry in the slightest*. It’s now forty eight hours later and I’ve only applied lip balm twice and my lips are still super soft and moisturised with no residue whatsoever. I’m 25 and have never experienced that from a lip treatment – any treatment – before.
This lip scrub is strongly coffee scented (it contains actual granules) and melts off very quickly with water, although it is edible if you want to just lick it off. It cleans up 5x faster than any other lip scrub I’ve tried to wash off.
I usually never review a product after only trying it once because I believe in testing it for at least a fortnight, but I don’t see myself needing to reach for this again any time soon which is nuts considering what my lips are usually like. I seriously only pressed the pad of my finger into the jar – I didn’t even scoop, just pressed lightly – and it’s completely healed the problem. It’s in a 15ml container so I can see this lasting me years even with regular use.
I also love the jar. I’m a sucker for tiny packaging and even though 15ml for a lip scrub is a lot, the container is super flat and wide so it takes up very little space. It’s got a completely flat top and bottom so it stacks easily, and you can put other stuff on it. I sometimes struggle to open flat round packaging because it’s hard for your fingers to get a grip on the lid, but the soft touch finish on the container makes it easy. I honestly never realised until I got this just how garbage the packaging for the Elf one is in comparison (it accumulates residue which gets stuck to the stick which is the main issue, runs out rapidly due to being solid and is easy to confuse with a lipstick) and as you may know, the Elf gets praised highly for its packaging. Unlike the glass Lush jar, I could drop this plastic container (which feels very solid and not at all cheap) and not have it shatter.
Feel free to go and look at my other reviews – most of them rate products between a 2 and a 4 because I’m not an all or nothing person. This really is an incredible product and like I said, one of only three that have been so incredible they’ve completely changed my standards.
I bought this for $14NZD from Mecca and only to fill my cart up to get free shipping. For the price vs amount you use, it’s also the cheapest exfoliator I’ve used.

The great thing about these lip scrubs is that you get a pretty decent amount, and for ten dollars a pop, you better! The scrubs themselves are great, the main ingredient being castor sugar. After I have had one for a period of time I do find myself having to lip my lips before I apply as it tends to get dry after a period of time. The sugar itself is so coarse though, that your lips still like satin after any way. I do have to say that because the ingredients are all natural it is the driest lip scrub I have ever used, so it can be messy. the flavors like bubble gum and buttered pop corn certainly keep it interesting. long story short, there are lip scrubs on the market as good as this one but, odds are it wont be all natural, you wont get such a hefty quantity, and they taste wonderful!

Zero scrub, irritates my lips, and feels gross and sticky.

BEWARE!!!
This product will actually damage your lips with continued use! I got this product at the recommendation of a Sephora associate who convinced me that this product will deeply exfoliate away my dry winter lips and renew them. She gave me a generous sample size that she said will last me a few weeks with continued use. The first few times i used the scrub, i was fairly impressed! my lips felt so smooth, crack-free, youthful, plump and my red lipstick never looked so vibrant as they did after the scrub.
So i continued to use the product a few times a week, for no more then 30 seconds each time * the suggested scrubbing time length* However, after almost 2 months of using this product, my lips have never been so dry as they were after this product!! OMG, they constantly cracked, peeled, dried-out and no lip balm seemed to soothe them. Honestly there were days my lips looked like i just emerged from a Saharan Sand Storm!! and i would think that my scrubbing and exfoliating them with the korres scrub, they would miraculously get better. it wasn’t only until i completly chucked the scrub into the garbage and used Vaseline on my lips along with La- Roche Posay lip care that they finally started to heal and look normal again
I think that the scrub is just to harsh for my lips and they stripped away essential layers.
If you do want a scrub, just google home recipes and make your own that will be more effective sans that long term damage 🙁

My lips are almost always dry. Because I like lipstick, rather than tinted lipgloss (and if you wear matte or long-wearing lipsticks, this kind of product is a necessity), I find am ugly film on my lips that’s hard to get rid of without picking at my lips. I don’t like picking at my skin, so I have trialled a few scrubs. The sugar and olive oil doesn’t work for me-possibly the grains of sugar I used were too big. I also tried the Sally Hansen one which was ok, but broke in no time at all. I’ve used a couple of tubes of the Body Shop one, which is better, but I kept wondering if anything was even better. I found this on sale online for only $10. I had no idea the instruction recommend scrubbing for only 30 seconds-just saw that here, so I went on for over a minute. It feels very smooth to touch, and I was wondering if anything was actually being scrubbed off. Once I felt my lips after washing it off, I was very pleased. Much smoother, and I can’t find any dry flakes. This is just the first time I’ve used it-I don’t know if it helps with even colouring of the lips etc-a lot of people don’t like the colour of their lips-but that will only come with time. Because it seems relatively gentle, I’ll probably have to use it at least 2 or 3 times a week. In the meantime, I can’t wait to wear a bright lipstick tomorrow.

Love this product. I bought this online by itself as I have dry, chapped lips in winter (It’s winter in Australia!) and absolutely love it. The packaging is quite luxe and the product actually does what it claims to do – which is remove dead skin cells.
I found when I first used it that I had to rub a little harder before the top layer came off and after that the particles inside the scrub were able to work their magic on my lips – and voila – soft, kissable, crack-less lips 🙂
Highly recommended!

I bought the 3 pack deal from Sephora and love the lipstick and this scrub. I don’t have overly dry lips but this product seems to work great for exfoliation. Once or twice a month, I scrub the lips after a shower and put on some Korres guava lip butter afterwards. My lips are noticeably smoother the next morning. Since I only use it a couple of times a month, the product should last for some time. I would buy this again.

I have to agree with everyone else: This is a pretty useless product that is needlessly expensive. It’s nice that it comes in a non-messy, lipstick-type tube, and the scent is pleasant, but it does absolutely nothing to exfoliate your lips. The “rice grains” aren’t big enough or abrasive enough to get rid of any dead or dry skin whatsoever. Make your own scrub with sugar and oil, or better yet, try LUSH’s lip scrubs! They’re absolutely divine and taste good too!
grizzledGarlic1
I have dry lips that need daily exfoliation and I was hoping this convenient tube product would do the trick. Unfortunately it didn’t do much in the way of exfoliation, it tasted like crap, and it smelled horrible! Back to Sephora. I will just use plain coconut oil and sugar next time for much less money.

I’m embarrassed by how much I love this product. Dry lips plague me, due to the dry desert climate I live in. Recently been getting with the times and trying liquid lipstick, so a scrub is a must.
Purchased the Pumpkin Spice and a Peach flavor. I have only used the peach and I appreciate the realness of it, not artificial and candy tasting, but fresh. The grains in the scrub are perfectly coarse, will smooth the lips but not strip your skin off completely. They feel soft and moisturized after.
My only complaint Jeffrey, is the pot packaging. I’m not too fond of sticking my finger in a product and then on my mouth, transferring bacteria to a pot of sugar. Looks like a Petri dish environment for growing nastiness.
Please release it in a sanitary tube packaging, then I’m sold for life!
ardentWigeon4
So, my lips always get dryer than a lizard’s ass this time of year. Carmex hasn’t done a damn thing. But, lemme just tell ya, Jeffree came to my rescue & turned my poor little prune lips into big ole plump plums. My only issue is my fat ass won’t stop licking it & getting a little nibble. The shit’s tasty. (I got pumpkin spice latte ’cause I’m your average bitch.) but yeah, 10/10, 5 stars, 2 thumbs up. Go getcha some. Lizard ass lip season is upon us. Hopefully this review saves a life.

I have the flavors orange soda, hot coca peppermint, pumpkin spice latte, and root beer . I love these lip scrubs. They are $12 each but it is Big sized packaging . My lips are always very dry and this scrub makes them very soft. The root beer flavor smells like cotton candy, which is the only complaint I have.

I purchased this from Sephora for about $22.00. I have very dry lips and was told this was an amazing exfoliator. Gosh darn, what crap. This comes in a tube form, it looks just like a lipstick. You apply it to the lips and firmly rub lips together for thirty seconds and remove grit with a warm face clothe. This did nothing for my lips what so ever. Plain sugar and olive oil work so much better. Save your money gals. This ones a five lippies down!
