Wow. I live in Las Vegas which makes my curly hair (which I straighten) very dry and shitty. Of all the products I’ve tried, this one surprises me the most. TONS of moisture. Makes my hair shiny and the movement is sleek & soft. And it’s one of the cheapest products I’ve tried. I’VE FOUND MY HOLY GRAIL!!!!!!!

So since going the natural route with my hair and needing something to cowash, detangle and to follow up after shampoo on the rare times I do, I picked this up. It was on a short list of AA hair-friendly and cheap conditioners, plus I did have luck with Aussie products before. I picked this up from Target for $5 and some change, for a 29oz bottle, which is a bargain if I ever saw one. Did I mention it having a pump was the icing on the cake? The real test was how it treated my hair. It was fruity scented, but not anything cloying or that irritates the nose, and creamy enough to give me the slip I needed when doing my deep conditioning/detangling routine. Okay, fine- but afterwards? Just like the bottle advertises, it does “quench thirsty locks in a flash” which is important when you have kinky/coily hair that you want to retain moisture. It also doesn’t lend itself to crispiness that some cheap conditioners will do once your hair has dried *cough, cough Pantene* And so I feel I’ve found my HG conditioner for co-wash, because not only does it do the above, it lasts- I just bought a new bottle few days ago; why is this impertinent? Because when I first bought this stuff was June or July 2016. It lasted me roughly a year for me, but I guess your mileage will vary with it. So if you’re in the market for a quality, but cost effective conditioner that will give your locks hydration, I recommend this so much.

Hair type: black, slightly thick, dry but un-damaged.
My hair felt smooth and soft after the first two washes, but then it started becoming frizzy. It was better than nothing but I feel like it didn’t make my hair very soft or smooth. I was surprised because of the high rating.
I noticed by bottle says looks a little different and says “mega moist.” Often when companies change their packaging they quietly change the formula as well. Makes me wonder. /conspiracy. But either way, I tried it, didn’t like it.

Aussie Mega Moist Conditioner is awesome! It is now the holy grail of drugstore brand conditioners. For a drugstore brand, it’s truly great. I have used almost every salon brand you can imagine on my crazy, dry, frizzy, coarse, thick, naturally curly hair.
This is thick, detangles my knots, smells fabulous (like tropical coconut sugar) and is very moisturizing. My hair is smooth, the curls are defined, it looks and feels healthy. It also isn’t breaking as much as it used to and is growing longer nicely. I haven’t had to use a deep conditioner since I discovered this. I used to deep condition about 1-2 times weekly. Now about every two weeks I use coconut oil to deep condition. This also works great as a leave in, use a little itty-bitty amount though.
I have found a size about that of a golf ball works for my very thick, shoulder length hair. With other brands I have had to use handfuls (I am not exaggerating).
A liter size bottle, the one with the pump last me a little over two weeks. This is great because I can go through almost a liter of other brands in a week and a half.
