   After seeing this being touted online for the last two years as the best thing for hair since VO5, I decided to give it a try. Heaven knows my hair could use it! However, given the price of the product plus the fact that I have waist-length hair, I was hesitant because I knew it’d be an expensive proposition. But I caught their 2nd-anniversary sale and was able to snag three jars of the Like a Virgin Mask, the hairbrush, and the microfiber hair wrap, all for about $110.

   This was good considering that I think, based on my experience with the hair masque, even paying that amount was too much.

   I opened up the jar of hair masque, smelled it and thought it smelled like…my usual brand of hair color. The fragrance wasn’t chemical, but it also wasn’t exactly the breathtaking experience that one would be led to believe from all the advertising. I think ‘orgasmic reaction’ must be what the influencers agree to do in order to receive free PR samples from C and E. It means that Clairol has really improved their hair color products.

   So far, the hair masque results have been…meh. Nothing special that I couldn’t get from L’Oreal or OGX. If anything, Like a Virgin has made my hair a bit more difficult to detangle. So I’m not exactly blown away by this product. Like a Virgin is definitely not worth the full price…it not even worth it at the discount I managed to snag it at. I’ll use it up–maybe it’s a product that works its magic over time–but I don’t see myself repurchasing it.

   The hair towel is the one thing that is stopping me from returning my purchase. For a hair towel, it’s gigantic and can easily contain my long hair, whereas most hair towels struggle to do the job. So there’s one thing that C and E got right.

   I fell for it again!

   In my opinion, this has to be one of the most over hyped products featured on Instagram and I fell for it.

   The reviews and video reviews on their site and Instagram page are really impressive. (I’m actually wondering how many of them are genuine). The videos make it look as though once the product is applied to unruly hair, wrapped in the complimentary head wrap, left on for 10 minutes and the wrap removed, the hair will be bouncy, supple and amazing. NOT true in my case.

   I decided to apply the masque and leave it to work its wonders overnight, as recommended. I did this and rinsed the masque out, and well, my hair was no different than if I’d used a £1.50 hair treatment from the supermarket.

   After blow drying and styling my hair as usual, my hair felt dry and looked frizzy and flyaway and no matter how much serum I’m applying to the ends, it still looks dry.

   This product is very expensive, but clearly the company have got their marketing on point, as people like me are falling for the hype and claims. Possibly it does work well for many, but for me, I feel I’ve just wasted almost £33 and that was with a discount. I did get the hair wrap and plastic “tangle tamer” brush included with the masque, which flew out of my hand every time I used it. The only positive thing about this Coco & Eve Masque, is the nice fragrance.

   I would not recommend this overpriced product, I think there are better, much cheaper hair treatments widely available.
