I was using this occasionally (adding it to my Mad Hippie vit. C serum, which is also great) and not super impressed, but then saw a rec to add it to Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 and WOW! I mix in a drop of the MH serum with a quarter scoop of the powder and a little BR P50 and the difference is really noticeable — sunspots fading faster, skin looks brighter. I wouldn’t recommend this is if your skin is very sensitive and I only use this at night (I use MH during the day under sunscreen), but I rarely find products make such a quick and visible difference. Especially considering the low price and long shelf life, this is a real game changer.

I love this stuff. It’s cheap. Anything vitamin c related usually breaks me out. This doesn’t. I mix it in morning and night with my moisturizer (remember to wear spf if you wear it during the day!). I already notice my face is a bit brighter. I struggle with being very shallow & this honestly has made a difference. Not to mention it’s dirt cheap. Worth a try for anyone curious.

I have never used a vitamin C skin product before, this is a first. And what a first! It blends wonderfully with my moisturiser and though it stings to high heavens in the beginning the skin acclimates quickly enough and now, no sting. I love how the website underplays this – they call it “tingling sensation”. No, it didn’t tingle. It literally stings. Yet I persevered with a scoop a day in the beginning and I love the results after 2 weeks. My skin looks fresh, dewy and even toned except for the blue shadows under my eyes and laugh lines (hereditary, cannot be helped). I walk around off days without any makeup except for concealer on those bluish parts of my face and feel utterly beautiful. I do not wear this product every day now, I kind of listen to my skin and sometimes I put this one three days in a row, sometimes I skip an entire 4-5 days. The results are still there. The price is a dream. Will repurchase and even look into other products in this remarkable brand.

My skin: 41, combo, prone to dehydration and acne. Mostly normal to dry in the winter, oilier t-zone in the summer. Large pores in the T-zone. Nothing much in the way of lines or wrinkles so far, some firming, minimizing texture and prevention are my main concerns on the aging side of things.
I’ve been in a pretty good place with my skin the last year or so, actually, my acne is mostly under control, so I wasn’t entirely sure where I would fit a vitamin C in my routine, or even what it could do for me, realistically. Also, I’ve dabbled in a few of the milder vitamin C products from The Ordinary (Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, couldn’t deal with the smell, and the Ascorbyl Glucoside broke me out) and didn’t like them much.
Then I gathered that vit C can actually be used in the AM, and may support sunscreen/do that free radical fighting thing well in the daytime, so I decided to try this product out, for shits and giggles. I made my own vitamin C serum for a while a few years ago, in the hope of it having some effect on my acne, so I know that my skin tolerates plain ascorbic acid well enough. It didn’t do much for my acne, and the ascorbic acid powder I used then had much larger grains and needed to be dissolved, so it was too much work. Getting rid of the acne was really my only focus back then and I just stopped bothering. I was not at all sure I would actually want to bother with this product either, but it’s cheap and why not.
To my surprise, I do actually use this most mornings, even at 6 AM when I’m in a hurry. It’s surprisingly easy to use, in spite of everything. I put about half a scoop in my hand, add a couple drops of The Ordinary’s Resveratrol + Ferulic Acid, a couple pumps of the Vichy Mineral 89 serum, mix well and apply to face and neck. The finely milled texture makes it easy to blend. It’s slightly tingly, but doesn’t really sting, I find.
So it’s pleasant enough to use, and I’m actually surprised by this: it fades the red marks left by the occasional hormonal spots I still get much faster than they go away on their own. I had a bad one on the bridge of my nose a couple of months ago and normally, the redness would have taken well over three or four months to fade, possibly six months or more. It’s almost gone now. It was a full-blown cystic pimple in late August. That’s pretty fantastic, in my book.
So. Is this for everyone? Nothing ever is. If your skin is more sensitive to vitamin C the uneven dosage and blending might cause problems, and it is slightly more work than just a vit C cream or serum. But it’s cheap, cheerful and if you don’t like it on your face, or even your body, you could use it up as a food preservative instead, I suppose. Make some lemonade, literally.

This product is also a no for me. I am not sure why no one else seems to be having this problem… no matter how much I mix it in to a cream, I get little jagged pieces left over that cut into my skin. And I mean cut as in leaving scratches and sometimes bleeding. I’m throwing this out. I really like Derma E’s vitamin C cream, so I will stick with that.

This product is a no for me. Not because it doesn’t work, I tried this for about a month and it does a decent job of brightening the complexion and the price is great. I had no problems mixing this in with my night time moisturizer. No gritty feel and I also did not find it irritating when used as suggested. My issue with this is that every morning, no matter what moisturizer I added it to (including their NM Factors and rosehip seed oil) , I would wake up to a strong self tanner smell. It made me gag. I looked it up and apparently some unstable vitamin C treatments cause the same chemical reaction as a self tanner once it absorbs and begins to oxidize on your skin. I tried adding the Ferulic acid/resveratrol serum to the mixture hoping that the antioxidant would help but it did not. Perhaps its just my body chemistry or whatever but I find few things more repulsive than the smell of self tanner. Giving it to my daughter

A keeper! I like it so much because it really makes a difference to my skin. A clearer brighter complexion. I am very much into antioxidants and this one is amazing! I recommend a patch test first. I use a quarter scoop and mix it with 5 drops of Deciem’s “B Oil”. It then becomes like a cream and I pat it in. There is a bit of tingling that goes away after a few minutes. I use it at night. There is a lot of powder in the jar and it is good for 6 months. I can’t believe the low price for such a great product! It is also vegan and cruelty free. Thank you Deciem!

I like this because it is milled to a powder form so it disperses instantly in my creams. I add this to my cream on a daily basis, never advanced premixing as it’s not stable.
For a good dose of vitamin c, I use the standard ‘buy at any health food store’ ascorbic acid crystals, which I mix with a little water and let it sit on my face as a morning wash and that always gets the glowing ball going. Make sure you keep it in an opaque plastic bottle or a brown glass bottle for optimum longevity.

Price is right. I decant the powder into an empty bb cream case and scoop a little bit of vitamin c to mix with ferulic acid and my moisturiser daily.
Definitely notice a reduction in pih marks, though i haven’t really noticed antiaging benefits yet. Still – this is a great and cheap way to incorporate vitamin c into my skincare routine! No worries about product stability, which is awesome.
Maybe it’s the same as ascorbic acid powder from health stores – i might buy some just to test that out!

A fantastic concept that delivers. I add a small amount (a quarter of the spoon that comes with it) to any face/body moisturizer or serum and voila: I have a stable, freshly made and potent dose of Vitamin C for my skin. I’m not overly fussed about using on my face as I have plenty of great Vit C serums for that purpose already, but for my body it’s just not economical to use a face serum, and Vit C body products (at a strong enough concentration) are very hard to come by and super pricey. Now I can transform any drugstore water-based body lotion into something much more powerful. I’ve been using this every other night for the last couple of weeks and it definitely helps fade any blemishes and has a brightening effect. It does tingle when you apply it so be aware of that, but the great thing is you have the choice to decrease the intensity depending upon how much of the powder you mix in. By all means start with even less than a quarter of the spoon and gradually build up your skins’ tolerance to it. Have tried mixing with TO Argan and also Rosehip Oil but I find it mixes better with anything water-based as opposed to oil based. No grittiness either when mixed well and no more worrying about the stability of Vit C products…with this I know it’s 100% not possible for it to oxidize so long as I mix it up and use it straight away. On tap, on demand, this is just perfect!

I like the concept of a powdered form of vitamin C because it’s stable, has a much long shelf life and can be mixed with any lotion or cream you already have or use. Just don’t mix it with niaciamide or retinol (same time) and acids. The jar comes with a mini spoon that fits inside. the price is great and the size will last a long time.

I love Vitamin C serums, but the one that agrees best with my skin (Transderma) is obscenely expensive, and I am always searching for alternatives. This ascorbic acid powder is awesome for its price (6 bucks!!!) and performance. I mix a small scoop with my Weleda Pomegranate serum in the morning, and I generally use half a scoop, because my skin is sensitive and doesn`t tolerate well high concentrations of Vitamin C. It dissolves well, and there is no grittiness, and with a gentle massage, it absorbs well into my skin. I use it on my neck and chest, too, in places where I have sun damage. It`s brightened my complexion and my acne scars on my chin look more faded than before. I like it that it`s a stable form of Vitamin C and I can control the concentration. I store it in the fridge to keep it cool. Be careful not to mix it with products containing niacinamide, or the mother of all stings will ensue.

My face prefers c-vit in powder formula, have previous tried the Philosophy Booster, which I love, but this is so much cheaper. I mix it with my day cream (from Paula’s Choice RESIST series) and it sure does magic! In just one week my face has a more even, brighter tone. Foundation almost not necessary anymore. Hopefully it will also help pigmentation stay away this spring/summer, we’ll see. At least this first week of use has give high hopes.

I really like that The Ordinary has so many different Vitamin C Products to choose from. Some are winners and some not so much… many have a gritty and/or sticky texture. The Ordinary’s 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder mixes in easily with many different serums I’ve tried. I started out very slow despite the fact that I have been using a Vitamin C Serum regularly. A little goes a long way so please be careful. Too much Vitamin C can cause a slight burning or tingling sensation, but if it does not go away right away I would rinse it off and use a lesser amount the next day. I love that this serum now can take the place of what would normally be another skincare layer. This mixes well and in fact, I couldn’t even tell that this was in my serum so it has a pretty decent texture for mixing. Also love that it is fragrance free! This product is incredible. I’m relatively new to the whole vitamin C thing, but definitely not to The Ordinary. I actually tried the Vitamin C+ HA spheres from TO and was so unimpressed, which is why it took me over a year to try vitamin C again.
The powder is a whole different ballgame. Now, granted it is more work to mix in the powder to a cream but it is well worth it, as vitamin C is notoriously unstable. So, it also means your effect will be longer lasting than a cream that will get significantly less effective in a relatively short time frame. Also, you can add this to essentially whatever already works for you so you know it’ll absorb and won’t pill. I mix this in with my Eucerin Urea face cream (which I didn’t like before mixing with this now I love lol) and it mixes in perfectly. It doesn’t affect how the product absorbs on my face at all, although i’m not sure how it would look under makeup. I prefer it at night, because I can feel it a bit on my skin for a while. FIY: TO does mention not to use this with niacinamide (common in brightening derm creams) but I don’t actually know how accurate this is and for what concentrations.
My results: My skin is visibly brighter, tighter and plumper. It doesn’t cause redness or irritation, but would not advise on overly sensitive or raw skin. Also nice is that you can choose how much you put if you have are experiencing sensitivity or are new to vitamin C. It even comes with a tiny scoop! Would I repurchase? A massive yes, although you get so much and it’s quite stable so I might not need to do that for a while. For the price, I think it’s definitely worth trying and trying different product combinations.

Delightfully easy to use: I mix a small bit of this LAA powder with The Ordinary’s Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% and Timeless Squalane Oil.
This powder is also offensively inexpensive ($5.80) when you compare it to comparable L-Ascorbic Acid-based products on the market. I’m giving major side eye to Philosophy for their Turbo Booster C Powder ($39), but I’m reserving the most side eye for True Botanicals’ Vitamin C Booster ($90).

I’m adding a 5 lippies/100% to the already perfect score of this PERFECT product. There are two indisputable facts about Vitamin C. 1) IT WORKS. It’s super effective at generally making skin great. It brightens, helps stimulate collagen production, and makes skin look healthy and glowy and great.
2) It is unstable as hell. While Vitamin C might be a miracle worker, it goes off quite easily.
That’s where The Ordinary’s powder is itself a miracle. I’m not sure how or why it’s so stable in powder form, but it’s marvellous. I mix it with a light moisturiser (Clinique’s DDMG) and a few drops of the Ordinary’s Alpha Lipoic Acid every day and my skin (oily, finicky, sensitive, a real pain in the A) has never been better.
It’s brighter, more resilient (less redness), and the lines around my eyes have improved SO much. At night I use the Ordinary’s Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion.
As far as dosing goes, I started with the brand’s recommended half the enclosed little spoon, but over a few months I moved up to over a full spoonful, and my skin can definitely tolerate it.
